You can't really blame Gardner though. He was only bad because he was 100% the victim of awful, idiotic coaching, including a consistently non-existent offense line. Gardner was an incredible athlete and a highly-rated dual threat recruit that was SUPPOSED to be playing for RichRod's zone option read spread offense. Instead he wound up with Brady Hoke completely wasting him, trying to force him into an outdated 1990's offense that didn't even match his skillset while being forced into a drop-back pocket passer role while constantly having to run for his life behind a turnstile offensive line. Given proper coaching, development, and scheme that actually fit his incredible skillset, or shit even an average O-line, he would be playing in the NFL right now. Hoke and co did the exact same thing with Denard Robinson.
Was the place dead silent and stunned and were people saying what’s happening when the were 4 yards way from an upset and when they fall short did the stadium erupt?

Sept. 12, 2015 - Toledo vs. (18) Arkansas. Toledo won 16-12. To be fair, Toledo was very good that season. They also beat Iowa St. 30-23, got as high as #19 in the AP poll and finished the season with a 10-2 record.

This game was a rude awakening for how the rest of the season was going to go. The ND game we thought we were going to have a great year, but this game revealed the true colors of the 2013 team.
The mistakes Michigan made gave Akron a ton of confidence and a reason why they came out aggressive in the second half. A missed field goal, fumble in the red zone, and then the INT. This is easily a 24-3 game at the half that would of made the game different where Michigan would of walked away in a landslide as expected. This is the worst win keeping Akron in the game too long almost lost them the game and this was unacceptable against a G5 team that you should roller over.
I mean this Michigan team was garbage so I don’t get your point. If this Michigan team had players like they did in 07, this game is 100-0. 2007 App state would beat this Akron team by 60
