Used the kit today on my 2007 750 (E66). Amazing product! Works as advertised. A few tips: Take your time on grinding out the original rivets. I used a dremel with two bits, one pyramid shaped grinder and the other a spherical metal grinder. Be extremely careful and slow. You don't want to melt the plastic pieces to which the kit attaches. I spent about 15 minutes per side, just being super careful and slow. You may need to press hard...but don't do it for too long (heat). Per the instructions you may need to use pliers or clippers to grab and pull the rivet apart. Again. BE CAREFUL - you can apply a bit of pressure to the sunshade arms, but don't bend them or break the plastic at the top.
All of the small parts and screws can fall and get lost as well as you can get grease all over the place from touching the area where the sliders go in. I put up a few small towels to catch any debris or dropped parts. Have something handy to wipe your hands and car should you get grease all over. Also, you don't need to remove the small philips screws completely. I found it best (after a few attempts) to leave the 4 x small screws slightly inserted when putting everything back together. That way you can find them again when you are finishing up the install. I found it easiest to stand outside the car and peer in the back window to find the 2 x screws for each side. It is an awkward angle, but doable with a small screwdriver. Reach in with your hands and get the screwdriver in place while holding the shade arm and end cap. Make sure the end cap is all the way in place before tightening the screws. If you are not outside you wont be able to see the screws (at least on my car).. I actually had to put a towel up to block the sun glare and use my iphone flashlight (from the inside) to light the area. Super tedious. Also, follow the directions about which way the long side of the part is facing when you pull out the broken piece. This is critical. Don't cramp down too hard when you install the new rivets. If you do, it will take more force for the replacement piece to swivel. I messed up on one side and it is a bit too tight, but still works ok. On the other side I made sure to not cramp down too tight and the part swivels perfectly..with not much resistance. Overall, super happy with the parts...total lifesaver. Oh and if you are using a spray grease/lubricant, be careful and slow. I had some overspray hit my headliner...but thankfully it ended up disappearing. Thank you AGA tools for a great product. Total time to complete took about 1hr 30mins and I'm not a mechanic or very mechanically inclined. Now I don't have to tell everyone in the back seat anymore - "Don't touch the rear sunshade button!!!!"
Thanks for sharing these details. I am also using aluminum to construct these little sliders. But I lost the original one's. Your detailed video helped me to understand the construction. Thanks again.
YES!! Just bought a 7 series with this EXACT problem.. Just ordered the kit!!!!!!
Maybe use a black sharpie when drawing? I couldn't see what you were drawing.
good video ......just a note that these sliders only go 1 way ..if there fitted wrong way up then the shade blind does not work and is jammed ...best way to tell is fit the sliders into the alloy shade assy ..the right way is they will freely slide the wrong way is they will have resistance but still slide until there fiied and all together will be tight
Take care and watch very wall your broken parts, those pieces from the video are different to the one's from my M3 E46.
Thanks for the suggestions you have shared here.
Excellent video thanks, do you have a video or other instructions for removing and repairing quarter window sun shades for an E39 2001 540i?
Danke
Its the same part, my e39 sunshade is broken, I looked at it, its the same part.
What an excellent product, well done.
My 2008 m5 stopped working and it will not come down anymore. Also the dealer quoted me 1600$ to fix. Im not crazy about fixing because it's very expensive and would rather use that money on something else. Based on your experience do you think the motor on the sunshade went bad or perhaps I need this clip that your selling?
BMW does not want to tell me exactly what wrong with it. I guess they just want to replace the whole thing in order to make profit.
Great product and great vid....Thanks!!
Will it work for a e65?
You need to check to make sure the sliders on the E65 is the same shape as the one we offer. Email rich@agatools.com for more info.
Excellent , very useful

Hi I have a 750Li and my side door sun screen won't pop up it seems as if it's stuck any advise??
It could be multiple things such as bad motor, broken arms, or an object getting stuck. We recommend taking it to a repair shop near by to have it looked at. If you need further assistance please give us a call at 760-738-4084.
Danske? I'm from Malmo originally.
How to place any order
Hi Stan, you can give Richard a call at 760-738-4084 or buy it directly off our website here: agatools.com/products/sunshade-repair-kit
Thanks!
$119 for a few pieces of aluminum, its cheaper than a new sun shade but jesus thats ridiculous
Kyle, because of the extensive R&D behind this and the material we use, this is not a cheap part to make. The rivets alone are not your typical rivets. Though it may seem expensive, we get a lot of great feedback from customers who have used this since 2009 without issues, which creates a great value.
@@AGATools extensive? How hard is it to copy an existing part? The rivets alone are not typical rivets? Are these BMW's in the space program? The same things you are selling are on ebay for $30 to $40. I hope they copied your design.
Price for a e60?
