Yes, all that you have done is extraordinary, and you deserve the very best from your efforts. From what you started with and from what it has become is almost like a fairytale that is unfolding for everyone to enjoy. All the best to you.
Would love to see a comprehensive update from you guys on how the boat is doing and anything you plan to change now that you've had time to "sea trial" her. Like, are the propulsion and steering mechanisms working like you expected? Has the bilge been mostly dry or have you been dealing with any leaks? How are you feeling about only having two winches to manage the sheets on all your sails?
Along with a breakdown of total cost of her, including original purchase price, now that she’s basically complete. I think a lot of us would be really interested, especially those of us who have watched from the very beginning.
Good morning from landlocked Wyoming! Always nice to enjoy my Sunday coffee with Yába! The drone footage is top tier. And while I'm loving the sailing, still enjoy the projects most. Can't wait to see her interior complete!
Yaba looks amazing and looked huge on todays video. Bigger than normal I mean!!! I love her so much and would enjoy that life even knowing it's work. Had quite a few boats just never 100% full time!!! Always had a dock on my bigger boats. I wish I could get away from cold winters!!!!
@@SailingYabahow about a total cost break down now that it’s complete. Show us what it cost to buy her in the first place, then a general cost of what it cost to rebuild her. I really think a lot of us would be extremely interested. Especially those of us who have watched from the very beginning! 😊😊
Hi Ben, with a sailing ship you usually try to dock stern first to keep the bowsprit aka collision asparagus out of the way. You just need to make fast a stern line put her into gear forward and she will swing nicely to the dock. It's a very easy maneuver.
As you haven't finished all the wood work on Yaba, build yourself a pair of foldable saw horses, and get a tarp, or some carpet to protect you swim platform. I know you are being careful, but in time you will cut into the the platform, or throw an electric tool into the ocean. If I was doing the work, I would already have manage to do both things. Looking forward to you having some scuba adventures, and relaxing on the beach....you guys are great...cheers
G'day Crew, Cool vid guys , they keep getting better. Great to see YABA & you guys starting to move around more ,really looking forward to future vids of more distant travel. Respect....!
I liked your fast motion when you were working on the cabinet doors. That way we get to see more of what you are doing. The boat interior is really looking nice. Ben, I cannot believe J.P. let you get away with launching YABA, without a working toilet. Ha! Ha!
Glad you are all able to get out sailing now. Good you are growing through experience. Hope you can find strength to continue finishing your interior, instrumentation and sails. God bless.
When I saw you screwing plywood patches on your hull, I knew I had to watch at least until you put the chainsaws away. Well, i'm still watching. Thanks for all your hard work.
I think that your boat is magnificent. You have done such a remarkable restoration and improvement. I am throughly impressed. All of the new skills learned and the results are wonderful. You could do one more project if you felt like it. When you are motoring the engine is quite noisy. You could build a fairly lightweight enclosure for it that would greatly reduce the noise. Sound absorbing material is typically light in weight. I haven’t looked into what is available but I’m sure there is something that would be useful for this situation. Best Regards Your Pal Al.
@@SailingYaba 👍👌👏 Exactly! 😁😁😁 Thanks for replying and especially for giving a heart to my comment. I always and totally appreciate both very much. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
Hi guys, I must say YABA is looking fantastic. You’ve done a wonderful job. Keep up the good work. I know there’s a bit to go to finish her off but just keep going cliff from Australia
this is soo cool to see i have been watching since i seen you guys over on ODDLIFE and you guys had a few thousand followers. its been great to watch and now see you guys enjoying the hard work
It will save you a lot of hassle over the years if you put up a shower curtain. It does not have to be on a circular shower rod but can be individual hooks where you attach a few of the curtain's grommets. You should add unscented bleach to your water tanks to keep algae and bugs down. You can find how many drops per litre on internet. To drink your tank water you put it in a pitcher...chlorine dissipates after 15 minutes. Salt is NaCl. It being Brazil there is probably tablets sold in every store to do this. Another great vid. Thanks.
Can’t wait for you guys to travel into blue waters and hit some tropical Islands, come visit us on the Big Island of Hawaii, I’ll take you scuba diving to some very cool sites.
Do you not have a watermaker? If not, you need to make that a top goal. Water is an absolute necessity and having the ability to make it is a life saver.
@@SailingYaba until then, at least use a filter on the hose to filter what you put into your tanks and then put in a UV sterilizer just before your kitchen faucet, or whoever you get drinking water from. Waterborne illness is a true threat.
Paar antislipmatjes op je dinghey voor de hondjes, enne misschien een Davids achterop het zwemplatform, zodat bootje niet verliest tijdens jullie trips, takel je hem gewoon snel uit, en in het water, ouwe beunhaas LOL
Great job MP, you caught a fender fish 🐡well done lol👍😂 Hey Ben, are you trying to make those doors water proof for your shower? Because they will still pass water through the top of the doors if they get splashed. 🌊
MP, you should never keep bananas with your other fruit. They should be stored away from all other fruit as they will cause your fruit to go rotten!!! Love your videos!!!
Yaba is beautiful. What is the name of a shipbuilder in Brazil that builds traditional wooden ships like Yaba? I know the place you were at just repairs them.
If you're living on a boat and flying a drone that's over the water, Surely it's crazy to do that without making the drone float. Then even if the drone dies due to the water you can at least get it back along with the sd card.

Especially the steering cables….tension/wear
Also, have you replaced that clear tubing on your diesel fills with fuel rated hose yet?

As a professional carpenter I recommend two folding saw horses it makes carpentry work so much easier.
The dogs seem to be settling right in to life on the boat! They are clearly very happy!
We love seeing them happy!!
Shes beautiful on sails!
I'm really surprised how well she sails upwind and on a beam reach. Just beautiful. 💥💨⛵
The refit award is completely earned this year!! Good job , again, congratulations you two and the rest of the team!

I see you towing your dinghy. No problem there. However, put a secondary rope/line on that. You'll be glad you did. Safe travels young ones !
That's a great advice, thank you!
