Small detail on 3:44. According to instructions on Nittaku grip tape, the cut side should face up and be aligned perpendicular to the handle. These instructions make sense because then the angle at which the wrapping should proceed follows naturally.
Ive been amateur for 30+ years, and i just put grip tape on my Stiga Legacy Carbon blade (because the handle was so narrow) and i absolutely love it. It makes the racket more comfortable and i think it helps balance out the weight of the racket. I have no problem transitioning to different shots, as people are asking about. I believe you dont see pros using grip tape because they are advertising their blades, IMO, anyway.
Might be true, but I also think the pros don’t use it because at that level of play touch/ blade feeling is so crucial. The grip takes some of that away, at least at the world class level of play. Idk, I wouldn’t know lol. But that’s my theory 🧐
@dfy absolutely, anything could be true. I bought this exact butterfly grip tape, not knowing what to expect, but I love it. I put it on my carbonado 290 (already a heavy blade) and I love it. Good video 👍
I’m not 100% sure. Although I’ve had my racket inspected by officials at tournaments before and there were no issues using an overgrip (this one in particular)
Hi, I live in Germany and our butterfly suppliers don‘t have the dry fit tape from butterfly available. How can I get this tape? Do I Need to Import it from a foreign Country?
Hmm, I wonder why they choose not to have it available in Germany 🇩🇪, especially where table tennis is a lot more developed. Yes, I think you will have to buy it from the American site if they ship there, I’m not sure. www.megaspin.net/store/default.asp?pid=b-dry-fit-tape
Does it damage the blade when you take it off? My friend used to have one, but once he took it off, it left marks and an adhesive, sticky spot that attracted dust on the blade.
It can cause some minor damage or splintering, but that’s normal, call it wear and tear. Residual glue can be easily rubbed off by the friction of your thumbs
I can't fathom how grip could affect the transition btw fh to bh. But, if you're meaning switching the side of blade like choppers usually do, then you may be right, because the grip diminishes the handle sliding.

🤯 I’m trying that next time, makes total sense

What is the lengthe
is it good if you have dry hands
Yes even better
Is it only for sweting or there are other reasons?
It’s also to widen the grip, shape the grip as desired or add weight to your paddle
@@dfy Thank you! Great video btw.
You use a flared handle?
Yes sir
Nice one 👍🏼
Drying time 2- 3 weeks?
?
Does grip tape make twiddling more difficult?
Depends on the type of grip tape…

Do you use GRIP Tape/ OVER Grip? Why or why not?

Cons: grip tape will decrease ability of transition from fh to bh
How?
