What video were the others watching. It was really easy to follow and I am looking forward to dividing mine and transplanting it. Thank you from the UK😍
Deer love the flowering tops. I have planted for the deer & have mine along the side of the house. When they bloom I move my potted plant collection in front of them to thwart the deer. Hummingbirds love the nectar late into the fall. We have Anna's, they do not migrate.
That's why we finally decided to "share the wealth"! EVERYTHING we grow, we share w/the wildlife. A lot for them, a little for us. Truthfully, the wildlife is the only reason we even garden. ENJOY your videos. Thanks for the posts!
I have one in a pot that would be half that transplanting but I do not have fertilizer but if I have 2 bags of premium topsoil a question I can mix coffee beans egg shell and banana peel I await your answer thanks
These plants split so well..its fun to split them and watch them grow..I started getting different kinds and different colors and different sizes....Great plant..Thanks for the comments
Great how to video, thank you. I live at 10,000 feet above sea level in Colorado and the Stonecrop Sedums thrive beautifully at this altitude. The moose love to munch on the flowers in fall. To prevent this I put my peony cages around them when they are blooming which seems to be keeping the moose and deer away. I did not know I could divide them in fall, I will give this a try because I have wanted more Stonecrop sedums in my large garden.
Interesting that the Moose and Deer will eat them. I have had no problem with deer. (No Moose in our area of Massachusetts). Splitting them is fun..Good luck with your project
This is good information to know, NOW I can split my garden plants and extend my garden for FREE...cool dude, thanks for showing me, I'm excited about this..
Can you split in the summer, mine is getting way too big for the area it's in. Obviously don't want to damage it replanting it in warm weather. Thoughts?
Yes you can...But they will do nothing this year and probably wilt away..They will need to build their root base so they can come back next year. they should come back just fine..Good luck planting..
I really liked the plant splitting technique but we shouldn't put top fertilizer in the hole with roots or with seeds it will burn use pre fertilized dirt for best results I've done the same thing before it didn't seem to have a problem but I was told that it can burn the roots and kill or shock plant if you put too much😏
Thank you for the easiest instructions I've found. Prior to this video I watched one which showed having to painstakingly pull each root base apart (Mine are far to big to have used that method and almost gave up the notion of dividing them). I always assumed Sedums were very resillient. Your video confirms this.
Late to the party here but I just added a bunch if autum joys to fill in around my property. Just wanted to say good job on the video! Pretty much exactly what I do when planting anything.
You can Also take cutting from your plants and make new plates..You don't have to split them if you don't want to.. To see how to make cutting go to another Video I did....ruclips.net/video/n2Jc82RbrPY/видео.html
Thank you so much for the info! I bought 6 pots couple years ago and they have been doing so well and have grown to their full size. They attract honey bees and butterflies. I bought 12 more pots this summer until I found out this video. I will be splitting some and plant more in my garden bed.
Hi James..The purple plant is a PJ Rhododenron, sometimes called PJ Rhodie,..It is a bush type plant that blossoms early spring, great for Single plant or to create a hedge with.. As soon as it Blooms I put the snow blower away....Thanks for the comments Enjoy..
I like the two shovel technique! Would have never thought of this.

Deer love the flowering tops. I have planted for the deer & have mine along the side of the house. When they bloom I move my potted plant collection in front of them to thwart the deer. Hummingbirds love the nectar late into the fall. We have Anna's, they do not migrate.
I can't keep the deer away from my Hosta..They have not discovered my Sedum yet!!!
That's why we finally decided to "share the wealth"! EVERYTHING we grow, we share w/the wildlife. A lot for them, a little for us. Truthfully, the wildlife is the only reason we even garden. ENJOY your videos. Thanks for the posts!
Oh yes..That is why we feed the Birds, Ducks and fish..We have a dog so I think that keeps the deer at a distance..
Thank you for doing this..Love these plants...Very nice video, fun to watch..
These are nice plants to work with..they can either stand alone or be part of a whole garden plan..
It is no longer early spring, can I still divide my sedum? It is really spreading and looks ready to divide to me! But it's almost June.
I have one in a pot that would be half that transplanting but I do not have fertilizer but if I have 2 bags of premium topsoil a question I can mix coffee beans egg shell and banana peel I await your answer thanks

Didn't realize how easy theses plants are to work with...
Can you split in the summer, mine is getting way too big for the area it's in. Obviously don't want to damage it replanting it in warm weather. Thoughts?
Yes you can ..But you will not get the growth out of it this year..It will develop a root base for next year
A neighbor gave me two plants right out of the ground that she had to move. Can I just replant them now in my flower bed? They are blooming.
Yes you can...But they will do nothing this year and probably wilt away..They will need to build their root base so they can come back next year. they should come back just fine..Good luck planting..
