  • RJM takes another look into the Matrix of the Korg Pa5x. Find out how you can change and save the parameters of a Pad on the Matrix. The changes that you make to that pad will remain, even when you shut the Keyboard down.

    Can someone tell me how we can map a custom 8 matrix pad to keyboard sets and save it as Single Touch setting each time we invoke the Keyboard set for any particuar song

    • @jonmicheals621
      @jonmicheals621  5 месяцев назад

      You cannot save the Matrix Pads set to a keyset. You can only save the four pads on the deck of the keyboard to a keyset. You watched my video part 2. Here is the video of part 1. It might clear up some of the questions you have. Take care, my friend.

    What none of us have figured out yet (I think) is how to program a new percussion pattern loop as a pad and then save it for instant recall on the deck. Think “do it again-Steely Dan” intro

      I could not find any way to link the Matrix to a style or song. It's like the Matrix is a separate instrument. The only Pads that you can link to a style are those 4 Pads on the keyboard deck to the left. But you can set up 3 Pad banks and then select the bank that you want to play. It just might be a horsepower problem. Not enough processing power to operate the Matrix and everything else.

      So I don't think you can save the Matrix settings to export.

  • @KumzitzYitz

    So this is all great. But how can we create and save a user section of direct access matrix pads? Basically, a customized matrix pads section for instant access from the matrix pads buttons themselves?

      @@jonmicheals621 There’s “user” for everything else in the keyboard including the vocal processor harmony presets, so, theoretically this is supposed to be possible for the matrix pads themselves too

    • @jonmicheals621

      @Kumzitz Yitz They do have a User bank for sounds, which the 4 Pads on the keyboard deck have access to. They should have allowed the Matrix access to that same User bank.

    Hello Rev, Jon Micheals, this was your future friend, who is now your current friend! lol "Hopefully"
    Thank you for this latest tutorial. What Korg needs to do is on the first page of the owners manual, is have an alert stating,
    " FIRST THING YOU MUST KNOW IS EVERY SINGEL SOUND, IF YOU ARE WANTING TO EDIT IT, MUST FIRST BE COPIED, AND PASTED TO A USER BANK!!!!"
    I can't tell how much time I went through trying to save, and kept getting the WARNING saying can't be DONE!!
    Question, have you noticed, when touching the screen, every once in a while it seems to be stuck, and then it reacts?

    • @jonmicheals621
      @jonmicheals621  Год назад

      Yes, you are right. You have to save those sounds to a User bank before you can save the changes. I haven't had any screen problems. But I upgraded to the latest firmware as soon as I got the Pa5x. I will say the screen on Pa5x is better than the screen on my Nautilus. With the Nautilus, you have to use your finger nail somtimes.

      @@jonmicheals621 Hey Rev. here's a mind bender for ya!
      I use to be in a band called Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW.
      So I'm no Spring CHICKEN! lol
      One of the main reasons I got the Pa5X is to be able to get a bit more control over the gigs I do. Get a good singer, I'll do backup using the vocoder, and WA-LA. But I digress.
      Here's the mind bender.
      I'm often asked in some of the Old School Rock cover band's I play with, to do The Who - Baba O'riley. I downloaded a midi file of the tune, and I like it, but all I need is the sequence to the house and the headphones and a click just to the headphones.
      I've managed to get the click going to output 1 but I can't figure out how to have the sequence in the headphones and also the house.
      Sorry about the long windedness.
      Thanks.

    • @jonmicheals621
      @jonmicheals621  Год назад +1

      I have the same problem. I run my drum tracks out of 1 & 2 and the rest of the Style out of Main L & R. Thus, I can only hear the Style in the headphone. Thats why I don't use the headphone in the keyboard because they will only play the Main L & R out of the keyboard. I could not find a way to bring Out 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 into the phones without a external mixer.
      But... Maybe... I know you can put the external "Line In" into the phones. "Settings" / "Audio/Video" /"Audio In"...
      So, try running everything you are going to send to the house into out of Main 1 & 2. Then try running the click track to Main L & R. Then try running a "Y" cable off of 1 & 2 outs back into the keyboard through the line in. Then make sure the line in is sending to Main L & R. I don't know if that will work. But something to remember is that the line in will be played in the phones, if you select it to go to Main L & R. ???

      @@jonmicheals621 Hey Rev. How's this sound?
      I recorded the sequence into Logic on one track, and the click on another. Panned them hard left and right and bounced them as an mp3 to my desk top.
      Now I'd like to import the mp3 to the Pa5X and trigger the mp3 with a pad, assigned to output 1.
      Here's the thing, HOW DO I DO THIS, or, is this even possible? lol
      Thanks.
