That sounds like a great idea, but as of right now you can't do that. You have to write out the entire song. I am getting used to it, but I hope in the next firmware update they allow us to do a simple copy/paste. I will say that the timing of the Pa5x is just about spot on. When I create loops, I make sure the tempo of the Pa5x is the same as my software it seems to work out. So, you could write out your parts on the Pa5x, then trim them in your DAW like a loop. Then cut/paste them into your song with your DAW.

The only thing I’m missing is that the line-in can not be controlled by the volume footpedal. So for me there is no extra value to plug in the line-in versus plugging it in directly in my mixer (which is positioned close left from me).

It is not about the sound quality, but more about getting my message across, I reserve my sound quality to my clients. In order to put out as many videos as I can I need to do it quickly. I do mix all the sounds in my studio, and it sounds great through my studio monitors.

@mdmusiz Exactly. To create a Midi file from scratch to work as a Style would be a large task. But, if there was a way to figure out the marker letters/numbers of the intros, variations, fills, break, and endings. I think you could export a Midi file from a Style, edit it and then import it back to the Style. It would still be easy to edit the Style in the Pa5x. 👍🎹👍

Thanks for your video First of all the reason you get all midi trucks 1-16 when you export a certain style is cuz in the midi in section you have all trucks selected as on you have to turn off midi in trucks from 1-8 this tells the keyboard that your not using trucks 1-8 so when you export that style you want to edit the trucks 1-8 won’t be exported. Markers are there to tell the keyboard this part or length let’s say 1-4 bars are for variation one for example so you insert marker and you liable it as v1cv1 it has to be small letters you just told the keyboard from bar or length 1-4 are for variation 1 and then if you want to create variation 2 so now you have to insert a new marker v2cv1 by the way it depends on your DAW you have to create a maker truck in the same session of your style that your editing otherwise it might not work so now from bar 4-6 for example and you liable it v2cv1 so now you told the keyboard that this is for variation 2 and so on. It’s very imported to liable the markers as v1,v2,v3,v4 all with cv1 / for fills are liable it as f1 f2 f3 all with cv1 ok, so the keyboard recognizes that this midi file or song you created to use the lengths or bars as style otherwise it will not recognize the markers it will be a regular midi song so the markers and adding v1cv1 to them as I mentioned above it tells the keyboard which are variations and fills from this bar to this bar ok. As the volume or other sound effects of that particular style your exporting to edit of course it will change cuz you exporting midi information notes only not the entire style in order for you to have the same setting as the other style you exported you have to copy the style you want to edit and paste it into a new empty user style location and then once your done editing your style imported into the pasted new style location and it should sound the same considering there’s no issues with keyboard software. By the way this is done using user style location because the factory styles can’t be edited or changed. The same original location if you can than you don’t have to copy paste into a new location once your done editing that style you exported just go back to style record edit and use the same style and then import the edited style into the original one and it should sound the same. . 😊 By the way CV means chords variation what dose that stands for is that you can assign and play certain chords to change the drums or bass or any instrument in the variation 1 for example without changing to variation 2 or using variation 2 to add drums parts I hope I explained myself as best possible I do that sometimes let say I setup CV2 in Var 1 on chord augmented for example to add special note in drums section or any truck that you want to play something else when you hold or play augmented chords you will see that the added part will play only when you play augmented chord and it will go back to CV1 when you play all other chords. 😊 good luck.. by the way it is very easy to create style from scratch if you know how to program a certain style beats and so on. This is why a special person with those skills is called an arranger 😊.

@billfriesTPA You're welcome. I've been using Cakewalk since it came around. Mainly because in the '80s Cakewalk had the best Midi engines. So I'm using the new Cakewalk with all my old VST plugins that I've collected over years. Then I master whatever tracks I'm working on in Sound Forge using ozone 9. When working with just one file I think Sound Forge is the best.

@edlesniak2475 You can if you're using the 16 track sequencer recorder. Create your melody track and then add your accompaniments. In a Style it's harder to do. Because the CV length is usually only eight measures, which isn't long enough for your Melody, I would think. Also, if you create a melody on one of the style tracks, the notes of that Melody will change with every chord change. Another way to do it would be to record your melody to an MP3 and then have one of the players play it back. But remember, your style will not change the melody notes of the MP3. @edikart4338 To be honest with you, I've never done that before, convert a Midi file into a style. So I'm going to have to look into that. I would suggest you bring that Midi file into the 16 track Midi sequencer of the Pa5x. Just make sure that the Midi instruments on your Midi file correspond with the instruments in the pa5x. I'm I'm going to seriously look into this. I'm a little busy right now. But if you don't hear from me in a week or two please send me back a comment and hopefully I'll have an answer for you. @nonchai I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. I have been using this board ever since its release and have had no problems. I came from the Pa1000 and Pa4x era. So yes, different OS, and it did take time to learn, but for me, I can work so much faster. Now using Firmware 1.3, this unit lets me compose music so much quicker. I will say that the only thing I do find is the processor can be over worked when using Kaoss at the highest setting. Of course, I use this keyboard for only creating tracks or styles. Which works fantasticly with my Nautilus. So, I am using a 2 keyboard set up. 👍🎹👍

@@jonmicheals621 my intended use - also is for production and not live performance - and clearly not the normal use case but one I wish all arranger/makers - software and hardware - would address as a future cash cow. BIAB recently released a plugin of its flagship - but it’s buggy and very NOT real-time - something I love and helps workflow greatly -- about the Genos and PA families. But both companies clearly dont see this aspect as a future potential for sales. Neither to most producers or media comporers, as an inspiring productivity and MOJO enhancer - YET!. Anyway take care.

@nonchai Yes, I agree these arranger keyboards still haven't reached their full potential. But they're getting pretty close. I use the Pa5x for quick song creations. If I'm doing something for a client on a more professional level, I'm basically doing it all in the software and using all the instruments that I have in my studio. I'm now working on a new video on how to Import and Export Midi files on the pa5x. It has a unique way of working with Midi files. Also, watch this video it will show you how I use the pa5x with my Daw system for quick compositions or for building an arrangement for a composition.

@vjuvenel There are some advantages to writing a song step by step, but that is not natural to the writing process. Where I like the Pa5x is that you can transfer a song you have in your head quicker into the keyboard and even practice it, in a more live environment. And now, with the new editing functions, you can write a song in the time it takes to play it and then adjust it to the way you want it. 👍🎹👍

Enregistrer les accords pour les quantifier après, je ne vois pas la différence avec du pas à pas. Autant le faire manuellement. Ce que je regrette c'est de ne pas pouvoir enregistrer les variations dans l' édition ou même déclencher des Pads .Ne changer que les noms des accords c' est vraiment basique.

@vjuvenel For me, step recording takes too long. If I'm working with a client and I need a song quickly, I can just play it and have it ready to go in minutes. Then, if the client or musician I'm writing the song for wants to change it. I can just change it without having to record it all over again. Changing the chords is a big deal. If you originally wrote the song in a minor key and you want to add a little color to it, you can turn it into a sus2 or a major 7th with just a tap on the screen.

Je comprends votre point de vue mais ce que je veux dire ; c'est que nous sommes en 2024 et la seule chose que fait le pa5x c'est de mettre 4 accords en boucle . A quant un vrai arrangeur comme Band in a box ou Varranger etc..?

@vjuvenel That is incorrect, my friend. It will loop as many chords as you put into it. I've had arrangements with 28 measures and 12 different chord patterns. I can write a whole song in the Pa5x. Without over working the processor, you can have 4 chord changes per measure. It is almost limitless the chord arrangements you can have.

@wpsam52 It seems to be working really well. Only two things. One is when using Kaoss and using a lot of things at the same time, it overworks the processor, and the Pa5x can crash. But if you use Kaoss without using a lot of other things, it works fine. Two, in the Chord Sequencer, you can not create a sequence from scratch. You have to record a new chord sequence or bring in a pre-saved chord sequence in order to use the editing functions in the new Chord Sequencer. Other than that, I think version 1.3 is the best out so far. 👍🎹👍

Yes, watch the video again and you will see that the sounds being played are coming from Upper 1, Upper 2, Upper and Upper 3. So, go to the keyset and change the sound and you will have the sound you are looking for.

@@jonmicheals621 I use the DNC sound in the style. In variation 1 I used normal sound, then in fill in 1 I used sound controller 1. When I pressed fill in 1 then I played, sound controller 1 didn't work. but if I press variation 1 then I play, when in play I press fill in 1, then sound controller 1 can function stably. even though on OS 1.2.1 this feature works stably

@drpro9560 I never heard that. It is a good idea to keep all firmware updates backed up. You never know when you have to go back.

@@jonmicheals621 thanck you wery much but problem are be from kaosšad, i domt kmpw how but after factory reset and loading my user data working normal .Ok how long will se.Im on profesional gig and play ewery day 5-6 hour on stage.But im shure after using kaos pad is system frosen. And a lot sounds desapeare. Maby are be mistake by loading data and kaos pad problem. GHope will be ok now.

@@bortchy Make sure you back everything up. Then re- install version 1.3.0. After you do that see if Kaoss works without crashing or making your sounds go away. If there is no problem and every thing seems to be OK. It might be a conflict with some of your settings from your user data. You might have to import you user data one step at a time.
