- Over a decade after her 'Islamophobia has passed the dinner table test' speech in 2011, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, the UK's first Muslim to serve as a Cabinet Minister made another keynote intervention titled 'Muslims Don’t Matter: the silencing, stereotyping and stigmatising of Muslims by the British press and political parties' at the University of Leeds on Thursday 19th October 2023.

She is a strong person and I hope she is heard because she speaks for all of us that have immigrant grandparents and parents. Even though she is a Conservative and me non party I still think we need a prepresentative that understands us and the situation we find ourselves in after 9/11 even though we have nothing to do with it.

Agree. Makes “us” question our place in 23rd Century UK. Are we “devout” or “out?” Not that I’m spinning of both notions against one another! However, the future is a real concern. Well, for me it is! I don’t know if I can continue to reside in a country that I was born in that broke my home and family! Not to mention destroying my sons early, primary and putting into jeopardy my sons secondary education!

Comprehensive, thoughtful, challenging to many (who won't see/listen to it) with opinions usually evidenced by events or statutes, although only here-say given for Blair's 'patronising engagement and caustic language' and 'idealogical and blinkered rot' but then evidences that within her Tory Party! The Church of England has long been known as the Tory Party at Prayer, yet Baroness Warsi believes that the party supports freedom of religion. 😂 That's one minute of nonsense in a 45 minute speech - very much worth listening too.
May be what the party stood for once upon a time. Like Labour gov doesn’t stand for it’s parties values either. Thy both the same for me.

But there is a deliberate and concerted attempt by some to not let it succeed". Woman! I could listen to you all day long.
