Fun stuff, Carl! I especially love the Superman Blue/Superman Red standee, featuring the Jurgens full figure, arms crossed illustrations which are great, as well as the cool Bogdanove & Janke art drawn for the giant LCS promo posters to which I own the original art for, of which the Superman Red image features his 1st appearance. I've never seen this standee before, so it's cool to see the Bogdanove/Janke art had more than one usage. I keep saying it & will say it again, the Superman Blue costume is one of my all-time favourite superhero costume designs!
You know, I completely forgot you had this promo Art! Very cool piece! Yeah, I mean design wise this suit is just phenomenal. Sleek & so incredibly cool! I also remember fondly how it straight up pissed people off. I remember knowing full well he’d eventually return to normal, but enjoyed seeing the reactions of the older readers at my local comic shop at the time. If he didn’t stay dead, he clearly wasn’t going to remain a being of pure energy!
Haha right? The cases used to be jam packed with only figures. I now have a fun mix of figures & other fun display items like video games, magazines, trading cards…just makes for a more interesting looking display! Oh and that’s awesome! I love these kind of POS items because many of them just got destroyed but it’s always fun finding them…such a brief moment in time, recaptured!
Thanks so much Lance! At this point, it’s the odd ball stuff that excites me the most to add to the collection! The widely available stuff is fun for sure, but it feels great to find these types of hidden gems!
