Does each unit in this example have a flightstream 510 for wireless communication? Or will one flight stream card update them all?

One Flight Stream 510 is required per aircraft, thank you for considering Garmin.

If terrain database wont transfer, what use is it then? Still have to use a SD card to get terrain data over? Might as well just stick with SD cards altogether. What am I missing?

Our design goal was to create a way to quickly update the more frequently updated databases, like the navigation database. The team tested the Terrain database during development and the time it took to transfer it exceeded what we believed was an acceptable amount of time for transfer. We believe the utility of supporting the more regularly updated databases with this capability made sense. I’ve shared your concerns with our engineering team for future consideration, if opportunities become available to increase transfer speeds. ^DK

What happens if I lose the database card after removing it for update, will the GNX375 still operate or does a card need to be in the slot?

All of the databases are stored internally to the GNX 375. So the SD card is only required for the update. Once updated, it is not required to be in the navigator. Thank you for being a loyal Garmin customer.
