  • Database Concierge is an awesome tool. You’ll feel fantastic seeing freshly updated databases with out having to pull any update cards out. This is a video of a step by step process of linking your device to the FlightStream 510 and all the tips and tricks of updating your databases.

    The wireless updates on the G6/FlightStream 510 is probably my favorite "new" feature that Cirrus and Garmin have created in a long time!

      Its so nice. It makes updating your databases fun! I love the flight plan transfer and all the other things it brings!

    Nice video Al! I think it would be pretty interesting if you did a sort of turn back time video, showing off the G1 or G2 to see how far Cirrus has come in terms of upgrades since!

      Love this idea! You have me thinking and have been working on it! I used to personally own a 2004 Cirrus SR20 so I am a huge fan of all the Cirrus’s. It’ll take some time to put this together, but AWESOME idea.

    So .... how do we update the terrain and IFR charts if we are not using the FS510 for this?

    After all that do you have enough battery left to start the engine? Seems like using the SD card method is easier.

    Great video! Can you do a future episode on how to make inflight calls and send messages via the Connext iridium sat system?

    I have SR22 (G6), trying to learn how to update the database through FS510 instead of SD card.
    3 technical questions: do you hook up to GPU while updating the database? Do you turn on BAT 1 and BAT 2 or just BAT2? Lastly do you need to turn on the Avionics switch or not touch it at all?
    Sorry for many questions, student pilot is here :)

    Hi Al, I have really enjoyed watching you videos. Just bought a share in my second SR22. I have gone from an SR22 G2 upgraded to a 2010 SR22T G3. We have the perspective version in our aircraft. Do you know if the Flightstream 510 would work on this model?

    How many people do you meet that only use Garmin pilot for updating their plane since it doesn’t compare to ForeFlight?

    • @al.waterloo
      @al.waterloo  3 года назад +1

      I personally use ForeFlight for my planning and inflight tactics. I do use and maintain a subscription to Garmin Pilot though. There are a lot of fringe benefits to Garmin pilot that are enabled through Garmin Pilot...Database Conciege, XM Radio Changing, Platform for easy calling/texting etc.

    I cannot wait to be on my delivery flight... Oh wait, I must first become a pilot. Yeh, that helps. lol... I love these tech updates and information. Gives me something to look forward too. If I make my way down to Cirrus in Tennessee, what are the possibilities of flying with you whilst I’m there?

      Do you have a new Cirrus on order? Believe it or not a good number of our owners aren’t pilots. They set off on their learning journey in their own airplane! Glad you can look forward to these. Hope to see you in Knoxville sometime soon!

      @@al.waterloo I do not as of yet. That would truly be the way I would like to do it. Learn in my own plane.
