P. S I find it very odd that the manager and the waitress couldn't remember having served any of the victims that night. I've owned two restaurants and I can remember most of my customers and what the hell I served them 20 years ago LOL. One customer that I absolutely do remember was Mohamed Atta, the head guy that flew into the World Trade Center. He and the others stayed at a motel right near my restaurant in downtown Delray Beach and the minute his photo came out in the papers right after 9/11, I said oh Christ, I cooked for that guy.
That’s frightening considering how many times I’ve been in Delray.
I read that Sharon Tate's sister said she did not go to El Coyote that night and that she stayed home that evening.
Atta had a strange face.
Especially in Hollywood?
Crazy!
I would have broken down if I was there watching that scene of the car pulling up to El Coyote. I’m so glad you got to be apart of the movie!
You do a great job of keeping her memory alive
Could the “pepperoni” actually be chorizo sausage? Chorizo would certainly be in a lot of meals served at a Mexican restaurant, and it is similar to pepperoni.
@@cynthiahughes1081 Pepperoni is American, I think, and similar to salami. Chorizo is Spanish, cured, paprika seasoned….both are red and could look similar….and both no doubt are considered sausage.
@@geslinam9703 yup.. dang didn't have my glasses on this morning.. thanks
@@cynthiahughes1081 haha! No worries.
Or it could say pepperoncini peppers. I think I spelled it wrong.
Yes I was thinking the same thing
It was a real privilege to see Scott's record of the El Coyote filming. The night looked really atmospheric -- a night to remember in many ways.
It was the hottest night of the year in LA, the night of the murders. People all over the city had their doors and windows left wide open. Starting the next night, that all changed.
"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was a great movie that showed El Coyote as their final dining location but who knows now? Intriguing.
That El Coyote restaurant still exists.
@@jlbaker2000 That's true, J.B. I heard their food's pretty good but never went there...
That movie was a joke! About as real as Frankenstein! Never really cared for most of his movies - they are a joke! Rather watch the Flinstones cartoon instead!
@@chriswarner7967 I get your point, Chris. I wasn't a fan of the ending but the details were incredible. Yabba dabba doo!
If you want to watch a movie that was as factual as what happened watch "Helter Skelter" 1979? it will make you check your doors and make sure they are locked and have a handgun ready! I was just a kid and watched it by myself and it was scary!
Not for nothing but anyone who ever saw Sharon for the first time said she would take your breath away. She was just that incredibly beautiful. So certainly someone eating at The El Coyote that night would have remembered seeing her walk by
Scott...You really are a treasure! Your knowledge and ability to recall not only the big things but the seemingly trivial details that make so many of your videos amazingly entertaining. I don't know how you do it or, what is going to be the next chapter in your life, but I sure hope you will continue to put out videos that are just as amazing for your loyal fans! Thank you!
Thank God for Scott Michaels 💙✌🏼
Being on a waiting list isn't the same as a reservation. If there are more parties than tables a wait list is started even at places that don't take reservations.
I was going there since 67.Was crowded and a lot of fun. Many celebrities ate there. They did not need a MANSON connection...
I've kinda wondered the same thing about their last supper and the waitress not remembering them. You'd think someone would've remembered a heavily pregnant, beautiful woman on a hot summer evening. Always great content, Scott!
Yeah, Sharon had one of those faces you don't easily forget.
I'm leaning toward them not having gone to that restaurant that particular, fateful night. It was probably a regular haunt for them, but there's absolutely no evidence it's the last meal out they ever had!
The only testimony they were there seems to be the manager saying Jay Sebring's name was on the waiting list for a table for four, though he never saw them himself, and a waitress claiming to have served the four, though she was unable to identify them afterwards from photos!
It's possible the manager wanted to get the restaurant on the map, so invented the whole 'dinner for four' story and told a waitress to back his claim by saying she served them. If so, job done because El Coyote has been a big tourist attraction for the last 50 years thanks to the Sharon Tate/Manson murders connection.
@@glamdolly30 You took the words right out of my mouth 👍
Plus, they were not unknowns. At 10, I knew who SharonTate & JSebring were.
@@swimlaps1 Yep - definitely a PR job by the restaurant manager. Which was very successful for 50-odd years and counting!
When Tarantino makes a movie about the murders he seeks.out Scott Michaels for advice!! How f..ing cool is that? 😎
Who is Scott Michaels ?
@@IanP1963 the man you’re watching.
It's possible Sharon had sat at that booth as she did like going there, just maybe not 'that' night. I guess we'll never know for sure if they were there. Thanks for the vids, this case continues to fascinate me.
I don't think they were ever there think the owner made it up to get more business.
@@addicted367 could be!! 💯💯
Maybe they got home delivery
Thanks Michael, that was awesome. Little snips have more meaning. This autopsy report was cringingly interesting.
Good info, great investigation. Lu
I'm so happy to to see you are transitioning to youtube. My family loved going on your tours and hopefully we can join one again soon. My mother took every one of my friend group and boyfriend on a Dearly Departed Tour ❤
Thank you, Scott. Interesting as always. I’ve always found the saddest thing to be how one of the Manson crew, during the trial, said that Abigail kept crying out for her mother. Simply heartbreaking.
I wish we didn’t have to share our planet with people who refuse to turn their lives over to God or good.
I lived in Hollywood most of my life. I've dined at the El Coyote hundreds of times. 35 years ago when I first started going to EL Coytote there were waitresses that were still working there that had worked there the night Sharon and her friends had dined and they indeed told me the corner table was where they all had sat. That is indeed the table.
Bullshit 🤦♂️
If you haven't seen "Don't Make Waves" it's a must see. Sharon Tate has many scenes in the movie. And yes she could turn heads.
That was the cheesiest POS movie. even Tony Curtis thought of it as an embarrassment
I am so incredibly grateful you do what you do. Thank you, Scott.
This is a great vlog, Scott. Very interesting and informative.
I have always been morbidly fascinated about the whole Manson family thing as I remember hearing as a very small child snippets of it on the news.
When I was working at the library I happen to read that Helter Skelter book. It was good.
Tarantino did a good thing having you as a consultant or technical advisor as you know your stuff.
When I went to California in 1981 I made a point of my LA visit to eat at the El Coyote. It pretty awesome it's still there and looks as it did all those years ago and is still in business.
Read the book when I was in my teens. Was very frightening to read but started my interest in police investigations.
Hi Scott, great vlog. This has always fascinated me also, I was about 11 when this happened and my family lived only about 15 miles away. I remember what a huge news story it was at the time.
90 years, wow, seems like a long time for LA.
Ok 2 things did anyone see all the orbs when Scott shows the book , with everyone being so scared I don't think anyone would confess to see the 4party in the restaurant. Great coverage!!!!!!!!
I thought I was going crazy! Thanx that I'm not the only one. 🙏
Yeah really freaked me out also. I wish SCOTT would comment on it. Thanks for the solid!
@@guysee3669 Solid what...?
I also read that it was Sharon 's favorite restaurant, that was her preferred booth, and Jay made reservations for that night. They could have decided to dine in and not actually gone, but the lore survived because of Jay's reservations.
According to Sharon's sister Deborah who had a conservation with Sharon over phone a couple hrs before the murders on that horrible night. Debra had said that Sharon Jay Abigail and Voctec Frykoski did not go to any restaurant that night because Sharon was very tired due her condition and advance pregnancy and wanted to stay at home and relaxs and also because of the swelted heat from that summer. Which make a lot more sense since nobody didn't remember seeing any of them there.Jay probably made reservations to go there that night but probably nobody didn't go because Sharon wasn't feeling up to going out that night and I believe her sister Deborah story. Plus Deborah had also asked Sharon could she come over to spend a night at her house that same horrible night but Sharon had told her sister Deborah no not tonight she wasn't feeling well due to her advance pregnancy maybe another time. Not realizing that her life and others were going to end within a couple hrs after talking to her sister Deborah for the last time. Deborah was very close to being killed that same horrible night had her sister Sharon giving her the ok to come over to spend a night
@@darrellwheeler6088 The others could have gone to El Coyote w/o Tate. The fact that they were not remembered by the restaurant staff is "unremarkable."
It very likely that they didn't go to that restaurant that same terrible night because Sharon' Tate's sister Deborah who had talked to Sharon that same terrible night just a couple hrs before the murders had occurred she said Sharon and the others did not go to any restaurant that night because she was very tired and her advance pregnancy and also the swelted heat that summer which makes a lot more sense. I do believe her story because she and Roman were the last people to speak to her over the phone just shortly before her tragic and senseless death.
@@darrellwheeler6088 Jay, Voytek, and Ms. Folger might very well have gone to El Coyote for dinner, and they probably did, for the woes of advanced pregnancy could have hardly affected them the same way it affected Sharon.
@@apointofinterest8574 That is possible.
Yes!!!! I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Thank you & I can not wait to see what you came up with!!

Dear Scott, so glad to see you expand your vlogging. Economic times dictated what will turn out to be a very valuable and profitable addition to your excellent body of work. Keep up the good work, man.
Thank you so much! Glad you like them and appreciate you watching them.
@@DearlyDepartedTours when are you opening your dearly departed museum again I hope it reopened by the time I hopefully recover from my illness maybe in a year and a half? You missed a great opportunity with the recent death of Lisa Loring the original Wednesday addams...may she rest in peace...
Scott, being in nursing for much of my teenage years as a nursing assistant, and as an adult a nurse. I can shed some light on the urinating and defficating after death, I'll answer it this way. Most people after they pass will urinate and sometimes dedicate. Most coroner's will not know this because in general people are cleaned up by a nursing facility or hospital before being released to the coroner. Murder scenes of coarse are different. I can only speak for the later.
I really enjoy your videos on the Tate LaBianca murders and learn something new every time. I read Helter Skelter as a 16 year old and didn't sleep for a week! I loved watching your documentary 6 Degrees of Separation, I found it very informative. You truly bring out why everyone is still fascinated to this day with Charles Manson and the year that shocked Los Angeles. I hope you'll always be around to bring us the best in death, lol! Your a true death hag.
Jill Gross
Thank you, Wayne!
I agree with you Wayne. I was a emt for years and in cases of cardiac arrest it was common for the patient, because of relaxation at death to urinate and/or deficate.
Hey Jill. I was born as Janice Gross, nice to see another Gross out here. My name is my marriage of course. My grandpa was Carl Gross in Hague N. Dakota. I love Scott for all his great information too!
Debra Tate debunked the "El Coyote dinner" a long time ago. Sharon had the intention to stay home with Jay as she was not feeling well from the heat and pregnancy. Plus, the fact that the waitress does not remember nor the manager remember any of them being there... That says more than enough.
Thank you for watching. All respect to Debra, she wasn't there so she can't really debunk it - that's why I was going with the science.
Debra has no way of knowing, but Debra being Debra, pretends that she does. See my above post.
She also said she would pulled a cliff and stopped killers. (She didnt say cliff obviously im making comparison)
@@DearlyDepartedTours I meannnnnn there is a way she could know. She called Sharon that night to ask if she and friends could come over to get a saddle, but Sharon declined since she wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to get ready for guest. But she told her she could come over the next day.
Ever read "Helter Skelter"?......page 85, the waitress that served them confirms they were there plus the manager on duty recalls seeing Sebring's name on the reservation list with a table for four requested.
My mom had that book. Growing up that book was always on our bookshelf
Hi Scott! Always enjoy your videos!! 🤗🤗🤗
I loved that movie once upon a time in Hollywood, I jumped out of my chair screaming I was so happy with it!! I bet people who saw it in the theatre screamed out too!!! Anyone know?
Not when I went. However I was the only one who stayed till the very end so all the rest of the movie goers missed the Red Apple scene!
I cried and elated. I said to my daughter this is what should have happened I read the book ago 15 first page states this book will scare the hell out of you
Buglosi was right
@@ShannonLee1956 Yep same with me but it wasn't scary because in reality she died and in that film it was 'if she had survived' - so a fictional fest really !!!!
Since Sharon told even her sister she wasn't feeling it for guests to come over and nobody remembers them in the restaurant, it sounds like they were never there that night. This was a group of adult,s so maybe people just ate what and if they wanted to there at the house on Cielo that night?
Thanks so much for another fantastic video. Regarding what happened or didn’t happen, where they ate or didn’t eat sounds to me that for the night of filming you were there, they were there and it will never be forgotten.
You are THE expert on this case , your research is heartfelt.
I was able to eat there at the same booth with a friend who worked in the industry.
That was one of my best road trips ever! Food wasn’t too bad either.
Maybe Sebring called for a table, but they never went because Sharon wasn’t up to it?
I wonder if the murderers thought she wasn’t home. Her Red Ferrari was being repaired so she had a rental parked in the garage. Maybe the plan was to ambush the three, or possibly just Frykowski and Folger because of a drug connection. They had the run of that house for most of that year. Just a thought.
From what I heard read and did some research it didn't really matter who was there or who wasn't there . The Manson murderers didn't even know Sharon and others they were going there on one mission only to kill whoever was there that night. Susan Atkins had bragged to her cellmates shorty before her cellmates had reported her involvement in those brutal killing . Susan had told her cellmates she and other Manson followers didn't know Sharon Tate and the others and it didn't really matter to them because everybody in that house was going to die that night.
@@darrellwheeler6088 Sharon and her photographer, Shahrokh Hatami, actually met Charles Manson a few months before the murder, looking for Terry Melcher. He was sent to the other house where he talked to the landlord, Rudi. He told Charles he didn't live there anymore and told him that he was going on a long trip to Europe so don't bother coming back anytime soon asking me about him. Shahrokh Hatami yelled at him and told him to leave. Sharon asked Shahrokh Hatami who that "creepy man" was. Abigail was once neighbors with Mama Cass. Mama Cass made Charles Manson leave one her parties. Jay is believed to have known Tex Watson when he sold wigs for a living. I also heard that some Manson family members once partied at the house and swam in their pool. It seemed like everyone knew each other somehow. There was a big web of connections. I heard that Jay and Voytek took advantage of a drug dealer (Billy Doyle) who was out of it. He and Voytek "violated him" by pulling down his pants and humping his butt, and flogging him like an alpha dog. Cass had a relationship with Pic Dawson. Pic and Billy were friends. This is reported in Tom O'Neill's book, CHAOS. So I think the motives for the murders were 1:) Get revenge of Jay and Voytek for humilation, and not getting good drugs 2:) take out Abigail because she couldn't get the connected to the Mamas and Pappas, and eliminate her as the next of kin for the Folger inheritance 3:) scare the hell out of rich, famous celebrities and musicians because Charles Manson and his crew were never given a record deal, and 4:) kill off the hippie movement which supported communist ideology and destroyed conservative, Christian values. Hippies were viewed as anti-American, military-hating people. They opposed the Vietnam War.
We are all indebted to Scott and Mike Dorsey for the production of "The Six Degrees of Helter Skelter." Scott remains a national treasure for his interests and his talent for producing such unique and interesting videos. Stay cool and hydrated in Palm Springs.
I find it suspicious that no one remembers them from that night.
I was manager and waited tables at a restaurant for 5 years. I remember my customers very well, especially if they came in frequently. But even if I sat someone or served someone and the next day the paper said they were murdered I would of been like “holy crap they ate ______ last night”
"Would _have_ been," not "would _of_ been," and how is the fact that a waitress 50-some years ago did not have as good a memory as you do in any way suspicious?
My daughter and I visited Scott last summer for the Departed tour. After we met Scott and posed with him, we went to El Coyote and ate burritos and drinks. Now I go there every time I'm in LA. Swiped a menu on the way out!
Read the book year's ago. Scared me reading it!
Omg Scott I almost cried just watching it at the theater. I can’t imagine being there.
I find it hard to believe Sharon Tate was there and no one remembered her. She was strikingly beautiful and extremely pregnant. Those kind of people tend to get noticed and remembered. I was also thinking those poor people. When they ate whatever they ate as their last meal, they could not have fathomed someone would later cut them open and index that meal.
YEP SATAN WAS DEFFO THERE THAT NIGHT !!!!!
I've always thought the same thing. You have the most beautiful woman/actress in the world eating at your resteraunt & noone remembers her?? Also, the waitress would have remembered Jay, he was so gorgeous... this is so odd..
@@Nativity1225 Maybe they weren't well known to the public. Many high-profile people knew Jay because he cut their hair. I hate to be mean but Sharon was a B-movie actress. Not a household name yet. She may not have been wearing makeup. I bet some people could have walked right by Taylor Swift while she is jogging and not even notice her.

Fascinating information as always regarding the Tate murders. I grew up in LA and have gone several times to the El Coyote with friends. Their food is so-so but the drinks are cheap and strong. It's a part of L.A. history whether Sharon and her friends visited or not.

There is some weird info and or speculation that the killers may have been stalking Sharon, Sebring, and the others. One night while Sebring and co. Were at his home...the same home once owned by Jean Harlowe, someone may have attempted to cut the wires...possibly phone wires to the house, but instead, had tripped a wire that caused the lighting outdoors to either come on or burn brighter than usual. This incident caused the killers to flee. This may have been the first attempt by members of the Manson family to kill the occupants at the house on 10500 Cielo Drive. Don't know if this is true or not.
I’ve heard that too but there’s no physical proof of it. That’s why I went with this, some thing I could actually work with. The other stuff is just conjecture. I appreciate you watching, thank you
@@DearlyDepartedTours The cable guy was interviewed and he did confirm that actually happened.
@JoesVinylShow1980 indeed and this will be covered in Chaos 2 by Tom O'Neill and about more findings of Steven Parent story. Can't wait for its release and if that's true about the night before at Jay's place is true then this differently blows the whole Helter-skelter bullshit narrative out of the water and or the final nail in the BS narrative.
Vincent used Manson's own con-job BS against him. It got the job done and made a great intriguing story book.
I knew nothing about Manson and his followers until many years ago. This being the reason I am so engrossed in this tragedy.
Is it possible that Sharon’s stomach contents were slightly different? She was pregnant so maybe she snacked on some cheese, pepperoni and olives??
I was going to say maybe she served a little platter to her guests but then you would expect them to also have some in their stomach as well.
Interesting either way. Very surprising no one remembered seeing them especially since so many people wanted to be attached to those horrible murders.
Like all the celebs who said they were invited to a “party” at the house that night.
I find it highly suspicious that so many were invited but every single person had something come up and not one showed up.
I mean if you invited 20 people to a party only a few usually bail.
Love your videos ❤
Thanks Scott, very interesting video!
I went on the tragical history tour when I was in LA. We did not go into Benedict Canyon or up to Cielo Drive. I definitely would have remembered it. I’ve been obsessed with this case since I was a kid. I was 4 when the murders happened
I heard the residents on the private section of Cielo Drive are tired of tourists walking up the street, and sometimes yell at them. Not much to see since the original house has been torn down since the early 90s. You will just see a gate. Whoopee.
REST IN PEACE SHARON TATE.

Regarding the book, I was about 8 years old or so when I stumbled across it in the mid-70s. The creepiest thing was the black and white pictures in the middle of the book that were whited out of the victims of the crime scenes. I knew that there was something terrible, something horrible that the publisher or author or whoever edits the book was saving the reader from. M parents let me watch the movie on TV and of course, it really bothered me and couldn’t sleep for days. Almost 50 years after reading this book it still strikes so much terror thinking about all the victims of the Manson family and I’ve hated hippies ever since. Lol!
You wound up hating hippies. The CIA accomplished their mission.
Excellent work as always

Another interesting video on the books, Scott. "Helter Skelter" is the only book I ever read in one sitting. I don't remember the date, but I bought the paperback as soon as it came out, so I'm old.
I had the paperback years ago to and read it but I just purchased another copy but this one is hardback I’m rereading it
It is still going - I bought it a few years ago in paperback in Britain !!!!
Yes I enjoy all these videos you do I just returned from my parents home in Palm desert California
A waiting list is different than a reservation. On a Friday night in Los Angeles even then you would have to add your name to the wait lost until a table was available hence their wait in the bar area. A wait list isn't a reservation
The one problem I have with the El Coyote scene is they enter the restaurant around 7 pm and it's dark outside. At 7 pm on August 8th, it would be a full sun early evening. Other than that, perfection. The other thing: I was born in LA in July, 1968 and was alive during the murders. My parents were active "scavenger hunters" and apparently had the Spahn Ranch sign and used it for a chicken coup! I passed by the remnants of the ranch "back in the day" and you couldn't distinguish it from it's surroundings. I was always obsessed with the Manson crimes, but nowadays I couldn't care less about Manson or his accomplices, and more about the innocent victims of their horrific crimes.
fantastic vlog Scott, I would luv to make it to LA for vacation when covid restrictions are lifted
I loved this! So interesting to see the actual sign.

Before the pandemic, I was working in the Oppenheimer building in Westwood near UCLA. One day I went out to lunch to Taco Bell on Weybrun Avenue. I turned left onto Weyburn from Westwood Blvd and before me were all these old cars and a Santa Monica Big Blue bus. I didn’t know what was going on and then I realized they were filming a movie. I stood for a moment, admiring those beautiful old cars. I felt transported back in time to my youth. Even the bus was like I remembered it. It wasn’t until I went to see Once a Upon a Time in Hollywood that I recognized Westwood in the scene where Sharon Tate is trying to get free admission into the Bruin movie theater. That’s why I love living in LA because I have unique experiences.
That is the best - LA so fun when it's fun
