I saw Ben Kingsley as Othello at Stratford. He so dominated the stage and audience it was like he was 10 feet tall, and made all the other actors (including David Suchet as Iago) look like small cardboard cutouts.
He's equally brilliant here and this is a very good movie - provided everyone knows this is nothing to do with the morality of empire, or with the rights the people of India, and everything to do with how much Richard Attenborough and people like him hate posh people, aka "The Establishment."

Gandhi can be supported on issue basis. Not all the activities and issues are acceptable. His most notable work is Dundee march. Bringing unity among mostly uneducated, poverty-stricken people was really a tough job.
