I saw you at the Toy Story Hotel on the opening day of Fantasy Springs. I wanted to say hello. Sunshine Mall in Ikebukuro is less crowded than Shibuya Harajuku, and is more comfortable regardless of the weather.

The second gachapon place you came across is THE gachapon department ( Gachapon Forest) If you like Kirby, you should go to the Kirby Cafe near Skytree! Their food is significantly better than Pokemon Cafe's 👍🏼 Pop Mart is gonna take over Funko market in the States very soon ! It's already been a thing here in Japan for the past a few years. As for Toys R Us, you can find full-sized Toys R Us in other prefectures like Kanagawa and Chiba
That was nice you got a memory of your childhood toys r us visits. Some things endure.
We were just there at the end of May. Sunshine City Mall is great. While you're there, also visit Tokyo Station's Character Street, Diver City (There's at least 2 Toys R Us's there), and of course the Nintendo Store (with the Pokemon Center) in Shibuya.
Hopefully when I get back to Japan I'll visit this mall. I've been to a Toys R US in a mall in Odaiba several years ago.

These stores are why I want to get my son to Japan. I know he would be so excited about the Pokemon stores. Not to mention catching in another foreign country. He caught a few in Disneyland and WDW.
I spent so much money when I visited Sunshine City. Though it was mostly the Snoopy store that got my money. The Japanese merch is just too cute and unique to resist. Like Faron the cat only featured in like 7 of the daily Peanuts comic strips back in 1961, but you bet he gets merch at the Snoopy museum in Japan.
Seems like everywhere you go in Japan it’s just lines after line haha.

When I went to Japan I nearly pooped myself seeing a Back to the Future keychain gachapon. That rocketeer one would’ve elicited a similar reaction!
I loved seeing some of the resort via monorail. So cool how close the ocean is to all of the resort as well!

I went to Sunshine City back in 2013, the main reason was so me and my friends could go to a small indoor theme park that has since closed called J-World. It was a Shonen Jump theme park, they had a few attractions based on One Piece, Naruto and of course Dragon Ball. I rode the One Piece dark ride, not only that but it was the month it opened. So yeah cool story involving that...
Also I went to the Toy R Us when I was there, for me it was just a Toys R Us but in Japan at the time since I never thought that the store would close...
Also hit up the Disney Store... it was just a Disney Store at the time.
I genuinely love that you had your near-religious experience at the Toys R Us, but I’m mostly just glad the light flickering eventually stopped 😂

I live 10 minutes away from Miami Gardens (the actual Miami, FL suburb) and Cafe Miami Garden made me giggle 😂
They don't do anything by halves in Japan and I can't wait to see it! We are finally going next year and I know we won't have enough time to do half the things I want to do, I'm loving seeing all of things that you do while you are there. Thanks for sharing all of these!

How far out do they tell you what rides are gonna go into refurb. Is it listed on the app. I don’t want to book and get there and have beauty and beast be closed or a couple other must do rides.

I’m so confused as the sequencing of when these are filmed and when u are there or here in the states. Can you elaborate dates on filming these because I am tracking temps and crowds so I can figure out when I want to go
