When I performed this with my choir last year it resonated deep inside and comes back to me now and soothes my soul and my longing for peace. It moves me to tears almost every time I hear it, especially now. Music and singing have always been my place. Nothing unites you like lifting your voice in a choir and feeling the power of unity, of being one. Which exacerbates the fact that choirs are not together right now.
I hear you. The Delta variant is taking hold in Sydney and my chamber choir can't rehearse. It hurts me so much. But I know one day we shall sing again. With much love xx
I understand and get where you are coming from...singing is such a passion but I was taken out of choir and can't sing at home and this whole COVID thing is keeping my church out so I can't sing...
Sing, Be, Live, See. This dark stormy hour, The wind, it stirs. The scorched earth cries out in vain: O war and power, You blind and blur, The torn heart cries out in pain. Peace. 🇲🇬🇲🇬🇲🇬❤️
Sing Be Live See This dark hour, the wind, it stirs The scorched Earth cries out In vain O war, power, you blind and blur The torn heart cries out in pain But music and singing shall be my refuge And music and singing shall be my light A light of song, shining strong: Hallelujah! Through darkness and pain and strive I'll sing Be Live See Peace.
Find an outlet where you can sing again! My son just graduated, he was singing in chorus for 7 years. His honors chorus knocks this particular piece out of the ball park. My son is a third generation singer in the family (My Dad, myself, and him). Keep on singing!
The ability of Andrea (sp?) to literally pull the harmonics out of the group with such ease is my favorite part of watching/listening to this group…also this is my favorite orientation if the group…so much subtlety…keep up the amazing work 😭
I performed this song in high school some 7 years ago, and it's still one of my favorite intros to a choral piece I've ever heard. Thank you for this performance. Beautifully done!

Peace - thank you for this sweet message to all! I am touched so deeply and am so glad for Voces8 to uplift me. What a wonderful gift to share this. Thank you!
Sang this in my school’s chamber choir my senior year of high school. It was our most loved piece to ever perform. Just last month after my first year of college, I heard the news that my close friend and the only other bass other than me (who could be heard) in that choir had passed in his sleep a week before he would’ve graduated (not sure on why, but I think it had to do with his diabetes) Needless to say, this piece holds a forever home in my heart as a special reminder of him and his life. I can’t help but cry each time I hear this now in memory of him Miss you Jake 🕊️🫂
I’m so excited to perform this song this year I get to perform this song at district choir next month and it just sounds so beautiful and peaceful I hope the choir I’m in will be able to sound this good I can’t wait 🥹🥹 (I’m a soprano 1 so I’m a little nervous🥲)
I have just been listening to Elemental. The whole of After Silence is a Masterpiece. I have bought a better CD player in anticipation of the CD release.
It is an injustice to not be able to like something twice.
I think we’d be better off as a society if we sung together more.
2:14 the sopranos blend so well, it sounds like a single person is singing.
The sign of a great choir.♥️

Lisa Autrey So sorry you cannot sing together. But unity is the hope for all of us! And we must hang onto hope. 💚

Your expression of your experience is right on. I'm so glad I once experienced it. I hope and pray that you will again.
I am doing it for 6th grade choir
2:50 the harmony sounds so beautiful

Singing this intense, takes me onto a level where only making music together exists.
Voces8, you soar.
i performed this with my choir my senior year of high school and it was incredibly emotional. i miss choir and choral music every day of my life

@@mollyragdollfan1917 There must be a choir near you. I'm in 3.
I wish people would sing together more. There would be less hatred, more harmony between folks of all different backgrounds. Music transcends.
or there would be a lot of people accusing their neighbor of being flat 😂
@@montespaul That's part of being human.
@@isadoradougI know who not to sit next to at church 😅
If we ever become a planet civilization this should be the national anthem
imagine looking at the stars in another planet listening to this
So gorgeous. I performed this song with my choir years ago. Your performance of it is perfection. Gives me chills.
This piece is exactly why I started singing as a kid and resonates with me more than ever before. Thank you.
Doing this song in my Acapella class for Festival! So excited! Such a pretty song!
This has an Eric Whitacre vibe... and I love it so much. Calms my heart.
We listened to this for wind ensemble to help us use the same tone and whatnot for this piece. One of my favorite pieces to play as a Clarinet.
A CLRINET THATS SO COOL
@@graysonschnellhardt835 Thx!

This makes me feel like life is going to be okay ❤️
Transcendental, It speaks so calmly to the soul.
This is what heaven sounds like. ❤
Played a wind ensemble version once; the singing gives it a new dimension. Wonderful performance.
I’ve done this piece for both band and choir and it makes me cry every time because it’s beautiful
Just got handed this piece of music for choir. It is gorgeous.

RUclips has not autogenerated the composer.
I had to Google it but it is Frank Ticheli. I cannot find the lyricist info. Lovely
Thank you Both the text and the music were written by Frank Ticheli.
Sublime
BEAUTIFUL MUSIC IDENTIDY
I did the band version and we didn't even come close to replicating the amazing sounds they sing.
preforming this with my choir nn wen i first heard it i loved it

It sounds very similar to Eric Whitacre’s music.

Who is the composer?
Frank Ticheli ( 2007)
Does anyone know where you can find/buy the sheet music for this?
Is there any difference in this one and the one they posted two months ago? I noticed they didn’t give credit to Tichelli, is this their arrangement?
I think they are reuploading through Vevo, a popular music/video provider. It just gives them more exposure
@@azulponce7341 The more exposure they get - the more the world becomes a better place

I can't get over the idea that, for this video, they are arranged in order of Britishness in their mode of dress.
Either the women are freezing or the men are overdressed.
composer? text?
I thought I'm going to hear the Earth song by Michael.
Not only to yourself, to not be able to explain what the system wants to rule the populations by their uncaring greed

There's a countertenor singing as well.
