Really enjoyed the video. Looks like you have "nailed" a lot of floor joist in your time. Can´t wait to see the finished product. While I was in Bible School (grad 1974) I worked a couple of years in construction. Really helped me out when we became Independent Baptist Missionaries to Brazil in 1975. Thanks for all your work -- brings back great memories!
Just love watching you on your various projects - especially when you're ably assisted by your precious son and heir !! That's how he's gonna learn the "tricks of the trade" !! How is his baby sister doing - haven't seen her or Momma for a while. Blessings !!
Here he is - the man with a tool for every job! Makes me think back to all the hundreds of post holes that I had to dig by hand with a shovel and spade. Looking forward to the next step of the chicken mansion. Blessings to you and the family.
Good evening. Your videos are always relaxing. Always enjoy seeing your son helping you and the patients you have with him. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
Love watching your videos. Especially with your able and anxious helper. {your great little son}. I'm now 75 and I really enjoyed watching and giving my father a hand when I could. Great memories ! Keep up the good work.
I have to say my two favorite parts of your video was the toad rescue and when your little helper was learning how to drive a nail. Thanks for sharing your videos with us and God Bless
That little feller is your Boss, ain't he?!?😁😁😁!!! He's a handsome lil' ol' tyke. Takes after his Daddy. Bless his heart, he's a good boy! You're doing a great job here, on gettin' that Chicken House up. Looks like it's gonna be a good one. Keep up the good work!
Always to fun to start another project that will help with things on the farm/homestead. Your son is wanting to help in many things and that is a great that you can spend time teaching him at a young age. We will be watching for the continuation of the build on the trapezoid chicken coop LOL Have a great week and God Bless.
Nice build Wes. I like to put a simple square knot to hold my plug wires together, don't pull it tight, just put it together. That way when you pull the line to get another foot of cutting done the line don't pull apart...something that becomes very important when it is inconvenient to reconnect your extension cord to your saw, like when your cutting off your decking or if your on the roof and trimming ceiling joists. Great video thumbs up.
This is probably my favorite video that you have done. Was very impressed with how you are doing this by yourself. But I must say, your son was the Star!
Good looking job, great little helper, hopefully he will learn a little here and there, I know at his age his attention span isn't very long, but will improve as he ages a little.
Hey Wesley if you need any more nails I have plenty . Seams my hands only fit a nail gun or a screw gun . I have a few fifty pound boxes . Love the work your doing I can’t wait to start my Dove tail cabin that will be my next big project. .
Love watching you and your son. I have a suggestion or two. You did not have the ledgers or the joists bearing on anything. Everything is hanging from the nails. It would be smart to add some bolts through the posts. Galvanized bolts. Cutting notches in the posts would have been better. Having lived with things I built forty years ago, I speak from experience. Nails rust out in a few years.
All the way from Saudi Arabia your videos put a smile on my face. It’s great to see you putting in extreme effort and getting a smile on your face doing it. I’ve been watching the channel since your first videos. Keep on hauling and smiling :-)
I'm so glad you used a power post hole digger. I always cringed on previous projects thinking about how much time you must have spent using the hand one!
Was wondering when you'd get some chickens going, your land is perfect for them. Keep up the great content, love your stuff. Reminds me of my childhood
The Bible tells us that with humility comes wisdom 👍 You are patient (moving the camera so many times 👍) & humble (so, before you go to the comment section & congratulate me for being such a great carpenter...), & your videos are so very interesting, relaxing & entertaining!! Thank you. We cannot wait for the next one!! God bless you and your family! 💞👍 P.S. Your little boy is so adorable & learning so much from you - Super Daddy!! ✨️ Bush radical is a great "suggestion" - subscribed & loving it! I can see why you would watch them!! 👍💞
a pro tip for the future, most know of the 3-4-5 method, we use any given dimension multiplied by 1.313 you can use 3' 4' 5', any measurement (example 4' x 1.313 = 5.25 should be the measurement between points 4' both directions from corner, learn that trick working on bridge piers 20' below water level. love seeing a man using hammer n nails
That is going to be some hen house, we'll done. If you're going to do a job done it right even the chickens will be happy. Look forward to the next video.
did you buy 100 chickens?? You are the most enjoyable OVERBUILDER on RUclips!! You never cease to amaze me. I wish I was a nail salesman. I am impressed you didn't buy a nail gun. All the other LAZY nailers buy a gun!!! Keep up the good work.
Hey Buddy, I read in the comments someone suggested you use screws or bolts to secure the flooring but there is a much simpler and cheaper way to strengthen your floor. Cut blocks and nail to each 4x4 underneath the leader rails and you will have a much stronger floor and you already have the wood to do it. And don't forget to get that hammer. Oh, and by the way, it looks lkie you are using to small of nail on the framing joists. You should be using a 16d for framing and a 12d for the flooring. Hope I don't upset you because I enjoy learning the things you show me also. God Bless
Me personally, I wouldn't have put that many floor joists. Like you said it's just going to house a bunch of chickens but, each to his own. Great video
Really impressive work, I don't know your background, but I've seen opponent bit logs on my WM and built plenty of farm buildings... You're a natural, that coop will outlive you off you aren't careful. Fine work, can't wait to see what's next!
Make sure you have easy access to your nesting boxes! My dad and I built my chicken house over 2 years. I got a small supply room for the food and nesting material and have it so i can get in to my nesting boxes easily to gather eggs. while my birds have their own roosting place. not near the food bins.
Thumbs up for showing us your "mistakes". There is a saying in German among carpenters that goes like: The best way to get a square is use a square. So I would have build tthe outer frame first and then marked where the poles go.
You're 1 of few people who knkw how to run a hammer! Never choke up on a hammer, if you do the hammer is too long so cut off the handle. Also good to see you use nails, they hold better than screws.
Hi Wes. Have you ever hit a rock while using the auger and if so, did it hurt? If you could speak chicken, the chickens would tell you that they love a trapezoid coop because everyone makes them square. Your son is so funny; "It doesn't work for me," and the help you give him to succeed. My subfloors are on the diagonal as the house was built in 1925 and I got to see that when they replaced some of the hard wood flooring. Have good days.
Please tell us the roof will be an A frame so the water from rain and the pine needles run off the surface of the roof!!! Great strong bass.... The bigger chicken coop means room to store feed and other items inside.... Plus the bigger chicken run the more exercise for the chickens!!!
Looks like some of the floor board are cupped up. Flip the boards so they are cup side down. Just look at the end grain and you'll be happy you did. Hope this helps!
Chicken house? Either you're gonna park a truck in it or those are some biiiiggggg chickens! LOL Man, the way you do construction you'll never have to worry about a storm knocking down one of your structures!
Hi Wes, If you use the pathogren theroy for you diagonals you can come out perfectly square without relying on diagonal measurement. If like me geometry was too long ago you can Google and just put in your dimensions and it will give you your diagonal for a square building. 👍
@@falllineridge I am the same. But if you Google it there are a ton of sites where all you have to do is enter your building dimensions and it will calculate the diagonal measurement for you.👍😉
Not trying to be a Nazi arm chair inspector here ...I have afew comments for what it's worth... but all in all it looks good... diagonal decking is not as good as parrelel decking in this case but not really harmful either... parallel decking on 15 centers is spanning 14 inches diagonal decking is spanning 19 inches so you get a slightly weaker floor... diagonal decking is used for shear but in this case you're post are in the ground providing the necessary shear ..it also creates more work and waste... like I said before though it really does look good what you have done so far
Hey man i dig your videos However i have a suggestion Can you lower the sound everytime you use a machine like your circular saw because it becomes very loud especially if you are wearing headphone 👌🤞👍
There seems to be some kind of WhatsApp scam going on. I have not contacted anyone about winning anything. Please ignore the message if you get it!
Many scams on mostly every channel when people comment. Whatsapp AND Telegram scams.
Besides that, good video keep up the good work.
Now explain to me like I was a two year...what's not to like about a young man working hard and enjoying his time with his son...outstanding.
That's the way I grew up...Just like your son. Everyone teaches and does not dismiss a child. Congratulations!
Really enjoyed the video. Looks like you have "nailed" a lot of floor joist in your time. Can´t wait to see the finished product.

Your little helper is priceless. Great video.
Thanks for sharing. You son has grown A Bunch!
You are doing a great service for your son by spending time with him. He will remember it. I carried squirrels for my dad eighty years ago.
Great video, always enjoy watching the little guy help dad. Have a blessed day😇

U did a great job. Keep up the good work.
Best thing you accomplished during that build was the time spent with your boy.
I love your videos and how family oriented you are so much so that I wish I was there to help out! At least when your Lil helper is taking a nap 😇.
Well done 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
Your sons aspect was awesome…. He didn’t think/say “I can’t do it”…. Good parenting showing him it does work with him. 😉
You can fudge the walls a little to square the framing up. It will make it easier to put on the roof structure. Love seeing you with your son.
What precious little man! All that curiosity is wonderful! Great video too!
Very good job, your such a good craftsman.

I’ve been watching the channel since your first videos. Keep on hauling and smiling :-)
I agree with flyboy about having your son with you and your interaction.
Thank you for filming it in 1080p60 quality. The videos is so sharp and clear. 😊
So much detail! Great video. Thank you!! Just about to get started with our 8x12 build. Really appreciate it
I'm so glad you used a power post hole digger. I always cringed on previous projects thinking about how much time you must have spent using the hand one!
Great stuff. Can't wait to see the size of the chickens. They must be HUGE!
Looks great. Just watching this makes me want to move to our property in the country to get a hen coup built.
NEW SUBSCRIBER ‼️ GREAT JOB ‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸

Great build! That will hold a heck of a lot of chickens.
Two words: Air nailer

Great job so far. You’ve given me some ideas for my place!
Looks bomb proof! Great job! Like father like son.
Lo que mas me agrada es tu ayudante, saludos, buen trabajo de ambos.
Love the project but man someone needs to get you a 30° framing nailer that doesn’t require air lol
That is going to be some hen house, we'll done. If you're going to do a job done it right even the chickens will be happy. Look forward to the next video.

Looks good can't what to see the finished coop.

I do tend to overdo my projects. Thanks for watching!
I've never seen flooring added on the diagonal before. Good job though 👏 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
It’s how subfloor was done before OSB sheets were a thing.
Looks really good to me.😊
This is another epic build for sure 👍
Great job!!

Foi o melhor vídeo que assisti sobre "Chicken House" ou GALINHEIRO que ja assisti. Parabéns
Kid: Why did Tonka build it?
Dad: So they could sell it!
Classic answer 👌!! 😆 🤣 😂
Great job! You're making good progress. And I'm going to try that ledger idea too, instead of hangers. Keep up the good work and the good videos.
great progress
Going to be a nice chicken house.

Hello Little Levi the builder !! Helping dad with the chicken coop !! "The sky is falling, the sky is falling" Chicken little said !!!
Thumbs up for showing us your "mistakes". There is a saying in German among carpenters that goes like: The best way to get a square is use a square. So I would have build tthe outer frame first and then marked where the poles go.
Glad to see that you keep your feet well away from that powerful motorized auger, even though you wear strong boots.
You're 1 of few people who knkw how to run a hammer! Never choke up on a hammer, if you do the hammer is too long so cut off the handle. Also good to see you use nails, they hold better than screws.

Yessir, planning on using trusses.
Looks like some of the floor board are cupped up. Flip the boards so they are cup side down. Just look at the end grain and you'll be happy you did. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the tip! I tried to correct some of that with heavier nails, made it better at least.
7:01 Maybe you could have notched the post on the long end 1.5 inches and put the rim plate on the ledge. If I understand the problem correctly.
Amazing job
Good job bro, pls take care
good job my freind
Good Dad, show him how that whammer works !🙂

Good Dad!
The camera can be deceiving but, that building looks huge!!! It's going to be awesome though.
Was going for 10x12, came out to 9.5 x 13 or so. Big enough!
Keren di tunggu video lainya kawan aku sangat suka konten ini🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
