- Master of Darkness is a platform game, very similar to Castlevania. The plot has the player entering the role of a Ouija board-playing psychologist named Dr. Ferdinand Social, who is looking to defeat Count Dracula, who is behind a series of killings in London that have been attributed to Jack the Ripper.

My cousin had the Game Gear version of this game. Honestly, I loved it then and years later, I still love it even to this day. Ahhh, memories of my youth is coming back!!

Tbh this game has good color palettes but the attack is kinda hard a little bit, yes we can get used to it. But compared this to castlevania the attack range of the whip wins. But for the color palettes I love the master system imo.
What do you expect from a Dr J & Mr. H clone?
I take swords and axes over whips any day, a whip is stupid and uncool as main weapon and rely purely on magic to grant it any effectiveness.
@@Asterion608 I'm sure you don't know how a whip feels against skin, which is why the Belmonts use it more than going in close quarters to fight monsters.
@@osakatales9228 Oh tell me how effective a whip, a torture tool designed to cause pain on the skin would do against a zombie that haves it's skin rotten and doesn't feel pain, or against a skeleton, or a walking armor, or even agaisnt any human wearing more protection than clothing.
-Even if you put Magic on that shit to make it affect Undead creatures still Unwiedldy as weapon, requires a lot of wind up to be used, can't be used on close quarters and lacks any kind of knockback power.
-You would be Wasting magic on a purposely innefective weapon agaisnt even a mildly armored soldier, and even more innefective against Supernatural creatures.
@@Asterion608 Why would you need to go in close quarters? Are you really trying to get yourself killed?
You'd obviously need to seriously trained to be able to kill someone with a whip, let alone defend an army of ghoulish creatures. Which is why the Belmonts have been successful each time against Dracula and his forces.

Mh, i wonder if this game came by the same developers of Running Battle? Seems similar under many regards, from music, to sound and u.i..
Edit: just checked: different developers, same for the music composers. Guess it all boils down to 16 bit limitations.
Sega master system was 8 bit.

Master system always sounded like a 2 bit device.
Great game but too simple to play for instance Ninja Gaiden for the Master System. A little similar, my opinion. Graphics, sound and gameplay was exzellent for its time except the difficulty setting.

@@hackgameslongplaychannel Desculpe se fui brusco, mas realmente percebi que a jogabilidade não era tão boa. Negativei o vídeo não foi por achar vc ruim jogando mas sim achar travado demais o jogo, mesmo comparando com a época.

Looking at the color palette and sprites I wish Konami made an installment of Castlevania for Master System.
Gameplay of this particular game is a total mess.

The soundtrack sounds really awesome, but... It goes on and on without anything much new. Becoming more annoying. My lord.
The Master System had sound that made you want to be deaf.

The game has very bad design choices
This is rather bad. I feel Nintendo could have done this better. Frankenstein for the NES was fantastic. Far superior to this game on all aspects.
It’s a little stiff and clunky (stairs), but the levels are creative. I could dig a remake of this game.
