I just purchased a 1981 with 27,414mi. Was used as a show car. Never thought I would have one but now I do!

The "Mullet Vette" was rough when it came in, KC knocked it out the park. I thought he painted it when I saw it again
KC, you do awesome work. Love to meet you someday.
Tell the owner to drop the tank and grab the buildsheet before he starts driving again so he can keep it clean in a sleeve. He needs to make sure the trans shifter cable stays tight, they loosen up easily on these cars. Also needs to make sure rear diff Axle seals aren’t rotted. They tend to pretty quick and will sling oil everywhere back there. Have em check the steering coupler, they tend to wear out super fast on these DFW crap roads.
Pops owned a 1980 L-82 Corvette midnight blue metallic with blue blue zebra interior. Car was mint! Brand new was $7600 back then. Growing up in the 80s and then through the 90s riding around with him with TTops off and working on that car with him created some of the best memories I’ll never forget.
I love to hear stories like that. They represent more than metal on wheels and I think that the shared connection is something that really draws us to them. I'll be sure to pass on the info. Thanks Elroy!
I know you wrote this a long time ago. but Just wanted to say your 100% right about the dang C3 shifter cables. When you buy a vette you also gotta tear out any old differentials and check positraction damage too. People beat the heck out of Vette rear ends even when they were new then! As bullet proof as they were , They always killed them in the end at about 120000. lol Especially automatics. Unless that bad boy has low miles ... i guarantee it needs a rebuild. He does't like old C3s, but man are they fun to resto mod and drive . Even 75s can be monstrous sleepers when you swap them with a old LT1 or a newer Ls1. When im driving mine sometimes 2 seats are too many, let alone 4 ! 1 is just fine with me .

The 66 427 must have been an awesome one to own! Next video should have some footage of the 64 427 we have that should be getting primed today.

Agree. Had a 67, forest green in and out with a 327 4 speed 350 horse and would throw a belt coming from dead stop every time. Remember taking it on a road trip from Springfield, MO to Harrison, AR on the old curvy road and never got it to break traction going around the corners on the road as I would cave in first because my butt hole puckered so much it was uncomfortable. Would be nice to have a few newer amenities upgraded on it but it was a great car
You need 3 mullets on hooks by the door for specific cars. Red (ginger for what ales you.) blonde (for the fun of it) and black.(for those heavy metal days dude.)

All you need to do is pull the T-tops, put on your "White & Pink flamingo" leisure suit, play some Jan Hamner! Straight out of Miami Vice!! What i REALLY want to see is an update on the Red SVT Lightning! And maybe some 4:10 tire smoke?? Also the Vette would be WAY cooler and more reliable and fun to drive with a Basic LS swap! Still it has the classic "Mako Shark" gen 4 body lines!

Just wanted to say that once you lft GMG I thought it sucked then when A.K lft it was terrible so I'm glad you do this on here and A.K has his show because I dont even watch fast and loud anymore so thanks for the content really enjoy it
Thank you for the support Robert! KC has had multiple opportunities to do TV since leaving GMG but he likes the YT platform more and says it allows the viewers to see more and restricts him less having to deal with a film schedule. KC is a busy man these days juggling business and family so i'm glad I can be here to help with the channel.

These raw cuts are sick! How do we contact the shop for this type of work? I've got a 1978 Ford Bronco with a 4 speed that's been sitting since I got married in 2010 (go figure right?). I've started it and moved it but haven't driven it as much as it needs to be driven. I bought it from the original owner, it's a clean truck just been sitting.
Can you ask kc if he would sell the rims he had on his green truck the first rims it had the blue/gray had them on ????

@@dalehall2993 we use to "make sure it was working right" but then we got blamed by a customer that we ruined his motor and KC went round and round with the guy til we found out his engine builder had done something wrong which had led to the failure but after that it was decided that there would be no more "test checks", drive it normal around the block and send it on its way.

I have a 1980 Corvette with 27000 original miles. I’ve had some people tell me its original paint, and some tell me it’s been painted. I believe it’s original. Can KC tell me for sure if I bring it by?
He might be able to. I'll ask him and get back to you but regardless if you wanted to bring it by and show it off, we would love to see it. Maybe even do a video?

What motor did you go with in your z Eric
I went with an LS3. I've been filming videos on it but haven't put anything together yet. It came from a junkyard car and I tore it down and bought a cam and everything to build the heads which is what I was filming to show you guys but then I got an opportunity from a local engine builder who said he would do all the machine work on the heads if I filmed the process and made a video out of it so, i'm waiting to get that bit filmed (next Friday) and then I'll probably share a few videos of what I have going on with my Z.

Did they try to delete the emblem below the rear window ? Really throws off the look. Those functional pipes would likely grab most of the attention otherwise, especially if it is cammed up a bit.
Naw, KC took the emblem off for the polishing and hadn't put it back on yet. I asked the same question afterwards haha. The car has a lot of potential, we obviously know what would really make it cool but at least its up and back on the road for someone to drive.

Hey Thai! Over the past few months my job has developed into more of just doing videos. Don't get me wrong its still my primary job but I've also turned into KC's assistant/parts runner/shop hand. Through the majority of the week I drive to Summit or various other shops to drop off or pick up stuff. I also have been doing parts runs for the Lube Center as well and driving across DFW turns into 5hrs of the day gone just driving all over the place. I have also been helping out on the floor as well. Regardless we are trying to put together a RUclips schedule to stick by and that's probably going to be a twice a week video drop.

HAHA, that would be KC's doings. He keeps getting them in trades. I just talked to him and he said we would film a video with the 2 lightnings for next week.

That would be rad.... if only we had enough vehicles to do that with. Those were the only 2 classic cars over at that shop. Tomorrow I plan to do an update at the Paintshop, show off some projects we have in the bullpen and the return of Frankenstein. I think everyone deserves to see the wicked tight cage it came back with.

The mullet wasn't a 1980 thing. It started around '85.
They have retro ones now that work fine , but i kind of like mine broken. Shows authenticity ! lol

Thanks for the suggestion Victor. I've noticed Donut Media having a segment in spanish which I thought was interesting. I'm not sure how we would go about it. I know we do have a lot of viewers from South America who usually leave comments in Spanish/Latin/Portuguese and I try to respond back. Spanish is easy for me as I grew up with a family who didn't speak English but some of the other forms I get lost in translation and Google translator isn't always the best haha.
