I would love to, however I do not live in Hawaii. I was only vacationing a few years ago and made a couple drone videos while I was there. I'm so sorry. :(

There's an airport in Hilo, do you need to get special permission to fly around there? What are the restrictions? I just got a Mini 2 and I'm trying to follow the rules.

Where I was for these shots was within the Hilo airport controlled airspace and authorization is required. It's pretty easy to file a flight plan with the AirMap app on your phone and get authorization. It's also nice to check locations you're thinking about flying to see if it's permitted.

It was easy for me to get authorization to fly my Mini 2 near the airport beach/shore in December 2020 and in August 2023.
