born as raised on Kauai and still here. kauai is da best cause we leave you alone to enjoy but just keep the respect to the culture and people. But for the most part we don't bother you.
I was just in Kauai. Some of the people at the airport and car rental places were rude, ironically half of them were White. But for the most part, you're right. I just think it's wrong that they charge mainlanders higher rates, but aside from that, I didn't find the locals to be hostile towards mainlanders, like I heard happens on some of the other islands. They were actually surprisingly helpful, welcoming and friendly. I saw a sign in one of the parks that read, "One Island, Many Peoples, All Kauaians", and I certainly feel the higher level of diversity compared to maybe some other islands has contributed to their higher level of tolerance. We even met two Hawaiian guys who started telling us about a heiau hidden in the bushes, off the path. So it seems, on Kauai at least, they like it when mainlanders are interested in learning about their heritage. But like I said, "One Island, Many Peoples, All Kauaians" And the "All Kauaians" for the most part were very friendly.
@@briantravelman it's both ways your have bad locals and bad Visitors. I treat any visitor with respect unless none is shown back. Also, I try to teach Visitors about being safe around our shores
This sounds really lame of me, but I am looking at booking a vacation to Hawaii. I’m from Ohio. I will just be going by myself, seeing what is best for me. In my mid 20s clearly single, but want to have fun but also site see
It is really cool how each of the four main Hawaiian islands all have their own unique character to them. I have not been anywhere in Hawaii yet, but I really need to get out there at some point. I'm not sure which one I will go to first, but it would be cool to see the four main islands. However, I probably would want to make four separate trips and spend time on one island per trip. Great video!
I've been to all of them except for Niihau which I was only allowed to see while on a boat tour but loved them all just the same. Even surprised myself how much I enjoyed my time in Molokai especially those secluded beaches on the west side.
Great synopsis! YAY! I have been to 5 islands and hope to visit the 6th one this fall. People often put down Oahu. Oahu is awesome! Great beauty, hiking, dining, shopping and people. Oahu has it all. People complain about the crowds in Waikiki but I love it, the excitement and hustle and bustle, shopping, great restaurants (can't go wrong at Halekalani, Royal Hawaiian or Moana Surfrider), street fairs and fireworks! The other islands are wonderful as well just don't listen to people that put down Oahu.
@@MahnaGhafori "Best" is subjective of course. I ask people "what do you want to see in Hawaii?". People are different. All the islands are great in their own way. South Maui is awesome, north Kauai is amazing! So each island also has micro-climates with different people and fauna. Aloha!
Nice video! Just back from an Oahu / Maui vacation. I was in Kauai & Hawaii in 1988 & 90. Plan to go back in a year or two. In terms of number of days needed in those two islands - is 5 & 5 right or less in Big Island and more in Kauai?
I've been 4 times in Hawaii since 2015 from France. My preferred island is Kauai, then Oahu and Big island. Maui my least favorite. Anyway,if you like hiking I recommend you 5days in Kauai so you don't have to rush to do the best activities of the island. 4 days in BI is also the minimum to spend there. Oahu, which I really didn't like at first has a lot to offer, there are so many cool spots all over the island 6days are recommended at least.
Well it IS the furthest from you guys, but honestly, I live in California and it's freakin' expensive for us too. I'm honestly not surprised many American people prefer to go to Fiji or French Polynesia. Those places often have cheaper rates than Hawaii. But aside from these three places, the Pacific islands are all insanely expensive to visit! I've never seen such expensive destinations. These are islands are for millionaires! Maybe you should try Mauritius, Reunion or the Caribbean. Very similar vibe, history and geography and you can probably find cheaper rates to those places from Belgium. You can fly direct from Paris to the French islands.
Best guide ever! Other videos: Zoomed inside ocean on a turtle. If u wanna have the best poke to go. Dude who spends 10 grand to visit an island to eat raw fish?
Beginners should start with Oahu. It has it all. Maui is formidable but overpriced I like the big island but I think it’s more for older folks like Kauai
Kauai is hands down the best island. Not even close. The beaches, people, food, wildlife, nature all of it. BUT no nightlife so if youre into partying not gonne be your things. Plus infinite chickens
The only downside to Kauai is that it’s been overrun by white transplants. The natives and Polynesian populations have been pushed out. The island feels like hawaii, but the people feels like more like Northern California.
Native Hawaiians have been LOUD and CLEAR for DECADES: do NOT visit HAWAII! Tourists are NOT welcome due to the heavy ecological footprint!!! There are TOO MANY tourists in Hawaii and too many non-Hawaiians buying up the land for tourist destinations, gentrifying the whole place and leaving natives in homeless camps all over the islands (suspiciously not shown here!). Again, stay where you are and respect natives’ wishes to keep Hawaii inhabitable.
Agreed. North American native blood here. There was no mixture, no syncretism. Only invasion and 4 centuries of legalized genocide. Similar fate to the Hawaiian people.
We visited the big island and loved it now we are going to Maui for the third time ! Maui is the best !
Wow amazing! I need to get back to Maui ☺️✨
Translated as..."Maui No Ka Oi!"
Kauai for sure ! It was so awesome to have met you! I can’t wait to see you again on your return
You know it! aww thank you 😊
I’ve lived in Kauai for almost 2 years and yes it’s amazing as you mentioned, can’t wait to go back
The most magical place on Earth!
What a great video, I’ve picked Maui for my holiday next year, absolutely can’t wait. Thanks from London UK 👍
Thats so exciting, happy travels!!

SUPER INFORMATIVE!! Also I love all the videos that you have taken!!!!
Thank you so much TYLER! Really appreciate it!! ☺️
Having been to the 4 biggest islands as well, I have to agree Kauai is the one for me as well. I'm heading back for the 3rd time in July.
Wow that’s amazing! Happy travels ☺️

Love your summary of four islands🎉
Thank you SO much!

Is Lanika beach the same beach in the backyard of Robin Masters' villa where Magnum and Higgins in Magnum PI live?
The only island I’m missing is Kauai. Im taking my nephew for the first time and I agree I feel like Oahu is a good island for the first time.
Aww wow that’s so exciting! Happy travels!
Just came back from a trip with my 8yo son from Kauai. A magical experience for him, much more kid friendly

Each of my trips were around 5 days on each island! Then I lived on Oahu ☺️ and went back to Kauai for an extra 5 days! That is a good amount!
Great tips, thanks!
Kauai is totally doable in 3 days by car. However, if you want to hike or do a boat tour, then I'd recommend 5 days minimum.
Damn how is Bali? Was thinking about living there for a bit before sometime soon
Bali is amazing! Great vibes, beautiful nature, great people from all around the world.
I love this ideas. Never been Hawaii. Thank you
So glad it's helpful! I hope you get to go someday!
Me too
I would love to visit Hawaii, but unfortunately this destination is so freaking expensive! Only for the flight from Europe, it's insane!

Best way to travel from island to island?
Hawaiian airlines flight every time is the way to go! Sometimes you can find flights as cheap as $30 island to island - so wild!
Kauai is the best cleaner quieter better people
agreed!

That’s really sad that it’s happening 🥲 I really hope they can find a solution to that soon. Native Hawaiians deserve their own lands, I agree. 🙏🏽

Imagine being entitled enough to tell people where they can and cannot go
Imagine being entitled to land when all over the world people are oppressed and displaced
Ha ha ha, a lot has been destroyed, as far as Allah wills
