No, wuwa should be fine. The entire thing is about how genshin's weapon banner was without gaurintees and collecting childrens data. The same will happen to endfield if they dont change asap
Nothing is going to happen to other games as the FTC did a 3 year long investigation into Genshin and saw ads being spammed with the intent to sell to kids. They went over every single detail about Genshin and it's mechanics, including the lack of explaining Capturing Radiance.

The worst part of this issue is how people are crying about Genshin going bankrupt for the ridiculously low fine and the need to disclose costs of their pulls.
I think it's a good thing they're cracking down on some of this stuff, but it's endlessly frustrating that they're only targeting Asian products when games like FIFA are way, way, WAY more predatory. Especially after the Tiktok stuff it feels racist. I think they should crack down on Gacha predatory nonsense (I say this was a WuWa spender) but I think they need to fair and target everyone doing this, not just Hoyo.
Them coming after genshin instead of companies like EA that sells BROKEN product! I'm mostly talking about the sims 4 and their packs like my wedding story does not work and yet it's available to buy for like $20
I start genshin with 3.8 and as i understand correctly to game community, another drama may happen when they reward only US players. I can not able to do on the fly calculation about currencies because they design for this. For example if i have 8370 primo, i do not know how much pulls or worth money. I hope Kuro not get trouble by this and i never sense any greed in their actions, as an old man i do not need but they warn me if i play too long and there are warnings in their purcashe shop options says spend responsibly. Sorry for my poor English.
I doubt WuWa gets hit. If they did, then this issue should have come across the entire gacha games and games with micro transaction and lootbox system. But in WuWa's case, their games aren't as dupe mandatory compared to Hoyo's predatory power creeping across all their games.
I think Wuwa might be fine. I hear from someone that Wuwa ask for your permission TWICE with password check points just to be SUPER sure you want to spend real money on them. While it's STUPID easy to spend money on Genshin where kids would definitely be none the wiser. Apparently the CC Doro got annoyed at Wuwa for asking for his consent TWICE. All the while defending Genshin's predatory actions. Putting ALL of the blame on the parents.
Gacha system started in Japan. FGO being the best example of no pity system. No 50/50, pure luck gacha. 50/50 is already an improvement. 100% on weapon banner is a huge profit opportunity loss, and WuWa is already generous. If 50/50 is removed, might as well call it direct sales/buying. Imagine this: Direct sales of a character, 100% guaranteed on your 180th pull. Or Gacha of winning it on 90th, then winning it again at 180th. You can almost say "buy 1 take 1" in gacha. And the important part is the sense of "winning" the character. I'm not defending any company. But the gacha system itself.
Punishing Grey Raven (Kuro's game that they develop before WuWa) has 100% guarantee for character during their arrival patch. But they have 70% chance (I don't remember the exact number but it's above 50%) for weapon banner. But the weapon banner includes all characters weapons. There are other banners as well but it will be too long to explain.
Wuwa is more free to play and in wuwa you literally have to enter your credit or debit card number everytime they purchase anything from the shop so kids cant buy packs without knowing their parents credit card number and passwords.
Honestly, these modern gachas are playing with the hottest fire by hiding pity count, guarantee checks and soft pity chances on their banners. If the FTC or the EU ever figure out how those systems work, they'll rip the entire gacha industry an entire new butthole. Because those aren't just dark patterns, they're moral black holes.
maybe its time for them to remove 50/50 make all gachas guaranteed that way you have a fix price on how much you can get on that character. You get a discount if you you're lucky
There's at least 1 gacha game that won't be touched by FTC because of the predatory monetization, Azur Lane (but probably for another obvious reason lmao)
it's a good thing to see that there's someone out there trying to reign in a billion dollar company. even tho it looks like it's not doing anything xD and yes, gacha games' methods are extremely predatory. i mean, i see through it, but does everyone? idk. buttttt man. those kiddos? what's wrong with their parents, how dumdum are they to let their kids access the parts of the game that cost money. just don't have anything enabled that lets them purchase anything. children and young teens have no good grasp of money, it's the parents job to ensure there is no damage done. not to mention that they shouldn't let their kids play gambling games in the first place lol.
2:29 "who doesn't know anything about gaming" So gacha players? Gacha players literally just play gacha games a lot. And please stop with "gacha games are f2p" bs. That's not how gacha monetization works behind your back.
The fine is fine in my opinion. The game is perhaps the most predatory in the space, and something needs to happen for the company or else they won't change. It's just simple buisness politics tbh. Hoping Wuwa removes the 50/50 system, or they put previous characters onto the standard banner while also giving them a dedicated re-run banner in the future. Or that if you lose the 50/50 the next 40 pulls gives them to you. Every game has this stupid currency to help make you forget how much you're actually spending when go to get something. Example, you buy V-Bucks in Fortnite, or you buy that golden currency in Marvel Rivals. So I doubt they'd get rid of those, any game getting rid of it. However, you can make this currency still useful aside from pulls. Buying weapons, skins, weapon skins, xp stuff, whatever. So in my opinion, Wuwa should keep the currency and allow you buy pulls with it. However, give the player a direct pity counter on the banner, make the banner a lot more accessible and generous and easier without the need to pay for it. Remove the 50/50, but impliment skins. I am a 3D modeler and animator and I can tell you that adding in a couple recolor's, creating a summer-time skin, or a casual outfit is fairly easy to do. Kuro 100% can be "lazy" and give us some recolors, maybe one or two skins that would be "purple" rarity that are slightly different like a halloween outfit, new years one, or a christmas one, then a legendary tier which would be skins like the Jihnsi one we have. Make these skins available in either Asterites or in that stupid currency that you can turn into Asterites... Actually, get rid of that currency entierly (Convert it all into Asterites and convert all items that can be bought with it into Astertires as well. If some of the bundels seem too good to simply be available outside of money then makes those available as money only or remove them entirely.) The tides are still usable in the game and earnable as is. So it's still a question of what the player whats to do with these Asterites they earn or buy. Convert them into pulls, buy skin, or even buy a 4-star character, et cetera. I doubt Kuro could just get rid of the gatcha system altogether, however when we look at games like Marvel Rivals or Overwatch 2 it becomes apparent you don't need loot boxes to make millions of dollars, so they definitely could get rid of it. It's just objectively easier to do gatcha instead of makeing 3 skins for every character in the game. Hell, stop covering every character's ass, make a simple bunny-girl outfit and say "yeah, it's $5" and mfs WILL pay for it. Kuro does need to make money, this is an objective fact. However, they do have a battle pass.... Put skins on it, or put the banner character at the end of it for the premium version of the pass. We all know Battle Passes sell well and they make a fuck ton of money. We can also lock some skins behind the Loot Box (Which is what a banner is, it's just a different shape on our screen) because of course a game does need to find ways to make the player spend money. Some stuff could be locked behind money, for example Jihnsi's skin can just be convered into money instead and the same can be said for all "legenday" or "5-star" skins.
Fun fact WuWa has a kinda little way to not get hit by the FTC, in WuWa's shop there are bundles that are directly priced in irl currency in my conversion it ranges from $3 to $30 in the "special offer" portion something I think genshin never had when I was still playing 2 years ago and I'm assuming still doesn't have right now, also WuWa has guaranteed ways to obtain character copies(coral shop) and a guaranteed weapon banner that at hard pity should cost around maybe around $165 on my end, and WuWa's look and feel can be used as something not intended for or targetting kids
