I used to watch y’all a lot a few years ago, and I’m really late to comment on here, but as an ex-gymnast and now a cheerleader, this is really inspiring for me. I had to quit gymnastics due to personal reasons, and when I went back to do all-star cheer a few years later, I couldn’t even do a backwalkover, when I originally had a round off double backhand spring on the floor. It was demotivating to try and get these skills I had lost back again, like I’d never be as good as I was before. But honestly watching y’all have fun and work to get these skills, and Maggie doing it without having ever done it before, really speaks to my specific tribulations right now. Its a bit silly but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has to rework stuff sometimes, but it’s so nice to see I don’t have to beat myself up over it. Thank y’all ❤️

For anyone trying to get their aerial a tip that really helped me was when your comfortable with dive and pop cartwheels then when you go and try your aerial is to not put your hands down even if you think you should, what I did was I just learned how to fall if I needed to do if I landed on the floor I wouldn't get hurt it will make it easier to learn how to not put your hands down knowing that you will be able to fall and not get hurt and then once you can do your aerial but you can't land it the when your in the air try to pull your legs to he ground. My aerial took me a LONG time to learn but these tips really helped me so you should try them out

I would recommend, instead of holding scrunchies and always putting your hands on the ground, put your hands on your shoulders! It really works
I watched that tut at 7 or 8 and I never got it because I was afraid I was gonna land on my head, your tut was helpful. I watched your tut videos because I was self-taught gymnast by RUclips and me mainly. I was always flexible since 1 and when I quick gymnastics because of Covid at 7 I let go of it found it a new sport 3 years later I’m at gymnastics again.

I got my side Ariel when I was 7 during gym class my friends told me to just go for it so I did!
Now I can do it from standing, no run or hurdle needed and I learned how to do it from the tutorial you did

Plus, I finally got an aerial. Shout out to the girls. I’ll give all the subscribes and ask literally ALL my friends even if they don’t do gymnastics to subscribe to her and make the girls reach 2M subs, IF Maggie finally gets her Aerial. So it is a win-win situation? :D
Ice Cream Plays If you’re scared, you could practice with holding your one hand on the ground and lift up the other. Once you are used to it, try lifting both arms. :)

My friend named Vianna, was trying to get her Ariel, and me a freaking volleyball player was like “ViAnnA I CaN hELP yOu” so I practiced with her everyday and eventually she kept going past her limit and I told her “look, hold your phone in your hand, if your phone touched the floor the screen is gonna shatter. you gonna let it shatter?” And she tried it and I spotted hr and she did it. I was so so proud of her. I’m a little unexpirienced coach.

You're kind of overthinking it. I do cheer and I only like it when my coach spots me. I always have mental blocks and I'm always scared of new skills, so I don't want to be spotted by people who don't really know how to, I'd rather let my coach spot me instead of my team mates / friends. So just fall to the ground. Do like a dive cartweel and just fall at the end a few times and i got my aerial by doing that. I dont know if it will work for anyone else tho!

To be honest, their setups are set for a dive cartwheel and it makes them want to put their hands down. But, the tutorial did help me get mine a few years ago. So it does work. But the set up I don't personally recommend.
