Wimbledon, US Open Champion and world champion. Fun to watch his game and intensity. Actually beat Sampras in the 2001 US Open finals in straight sets, and was the last Wimbledon winner before Federer. Seems like yesterday
Imagine thinking nadal is only a claycourt expert, yes he wins most tournaments in clay, however, only an idiot would suggest nadal has not mastered ALL surfaces. Nadal won multiple hardcpurt grandslams and grasscourt slams.
@@rogerreverence4737 What is frustrating tho is that since 2014 he never worked out how to win a match against Federer or Djoker off clay. At least Djoker had the heart to win a few of their encounters on clay meanwhile. We want to see true rivalries where either player could win: Rafa was so close to beating Djoker Wimbledon 2018 SF. Of course, they're the highest level opponents in history of tennis, and you're right, Rafa is top class on all surfaces against other players, as he proved in 5-set finals vs "HC specialist" Medvedev USO 2019 and AO 2022. He was on the brink of winning AO 2012 vs Djoker, but missed an easy pass (Such a mentally strong player psyched out?)
From my observation, Hewitt’s defense game was his strong point. He would win points by grinding down the opposition until they made mistakes. But once his body went down hill it was game over for Hewitt, unfortunately. I think such a game style took its toll on him quicker than others.
He told him "You're so hard to beat - clearly one of the future greats..."
This was the first time I saw Rafa
Has been my favorite player ever since
Vamos ⚡️
18 year old Nadal
Now he's bald as hell 👨🦲
@@donarthiazi2443 bro there are many 20 years old balds 😂
No grunting from Nadal. First time I ever see that
WOW ıt very changes. today ıs 2024 and when ı see this video ı am sure that nadal changes and becomes strong...
You’ve crossed the T’s… now dot the I’s
I like how rafa took this lost match, smiling and so nice with his opponent. For me it makes him great.
The battle of the toughest 🔥
Rafa easily the best fighter on the court ever
I think Nadal was like 16 here 😂
Was nadal using an extreme western forehand grip that time

Nadal is superior, everyone has a bad day, VAMOOOOOOS RAFAAAAA💪🏻🎾🇪🇸❤️
Hewitt was probably no 2 in the world at the time
Battle of the pushers
👏👏👏👏👏
Even though I think Hewitt is a jerk, I also think he was a very underated tennis player.

How did he do it?
Nadal, how did he keep quiet hitting his strokes?
You try generating as much topspin without exerting any noise, effort, energy and placement.
@@rogerreverence4737 Federer gets by just fine. I've grunted audibly about twice, and I'm someone who likes to rip forehands with heavy topspin.
@@evanhayes5891 I like Nadal's grunts, just not Sharapova's
Alcaraz grunts are kinda cool too.
Virtua tennis 3 in real life :v
The time when it was fun to watch tennis
you don't enjoy Carlitos?
Bro is stuck in time
@@jonas8993 nadal fed joker now carlos, my faves to watch
Nadal invented conscious topspin though
Never were dumber words said about tennis, congrats
@@user-zm6pd4kt7b you enjoy insulting people? Try being more kind
When I think of topspin in the open era, I think Bjorn Borg, and obviously in recent years Rafael Nadal!
You can say anything you want about Hewiit, his style, his game of play or titles, but he will always remain better than Shapovalov
That's a random thing to say
Are you serious?
An unforced error?
А бяхме млади ....😊
En ese momento hewitt tenía 2 grand slams y rafa 0.
Después quedo rafa 22 hewitt 2
Hewitt is thinking…”glad this wasn’t on the dirt!”
😂😂😂 💯
I remember this match and thinking who is this young guy (Nadal) trying to match up to Hewitt, lol.
Nadal’s forehand look way more full western here
takeback is just different. a pro would never change their forehand grip so late in their career
@@MrRando Daniel Nestor had change his forehand grip when he decided to focus on playing dobles .
@@narcyznarcyz-uv4td doubles is different
I thought the same exact thing, although I have to think MrRando is correct. I think it’s the takeback that changed, not the actual grip… I think.
He's Spanish
Que manera de robarle a Nadal en ese partido... todos los jueces coludidos
And Nadal took it personal after that 🤣😍
А победил тогда мой любимый теннисист, Сафин)))
Safin, right up there on my all time favorite list. Apart from his huge game, his personality was so engaging. He was such a real vibe.
Эх, если бы не его лень, то мог бы стать великим.

Sensational point!
No grunting back then
