I adopted a 4-5 yr old dog, malnourished, very sick ( poodle, schnauzer, chow, cocker spaniel mix. What a character, I named her Lucille Ball. Anyway, Vet gave her little to no chance to fully recover. My Lucy lived 22+ yrs. I fed her everything you mentioned in this video, except the Cinnamon, & ,I added steamed sweet potatoes, when i didn't have carrots. Local raised chicken, beef and beef liver, deer, moose meat & fresh crappie. She drank Well water and/or from a underground spring with a few tsp of Raw apple cider vinegar in her bowl (All her veggies came from the Amish farm, or my garden No one believed me when I told them Lucy's age, even when she was 17-18 yrs old, people thought she was a puppy. She passed Aug 2022, (in her sleep);I I miss her everyday😢😢). When I took her back to the same Vet, (5 yrs after he seen her) for a Rabi shot (I had no choice, as we went to Canada) the Vet argued with me, telling me no way was Lucy the same dog he seen 5 yrs prior. He asked me, ''what game are you trying to play''? I made many copies of her diet and passed them out to 1000s of people (usually campers) during my travels around the country. I hope many peoples pets had the quality life my Lucy had. P.S. Another key factor to good health, NO STRESS. Good luck to all pet lovers❤

Thanks so much Doc, you're a God Send.
Im a 73 year old English bloke living in the Philippines with 13 rescued street dogs living with me at home, and feeding up to 25 more in the streets every day. I used to feel sorry for them all as on my pension mainly all I can afford to give them is blended fruits, potatoes, vegetables and rice - not much meat - but I really have seen miracles! Dogs with no hair, scratchy skin and open sores now have wonderful coats of shiny hair! I also buy fish from the market, as its cheaper there, and cook that for them , they love it! And now you've just confirmed it all. Doc, thank you so much, God Bless you and Tula xx

I recently decided to stop all canned dog food and kibble. I cook from scratch. rice and chicken, sweet potatoes, vegetables, cinnamon and apples, etc. I should have done this years ago. The commercial dog food is garbage. No wonder so many dogs die from cancer. A side benefit is while I'm cooking from scratch for the dogs; I'm cooking for my husband and I at the same time.
We are all happier. P.S. It's not that hard to do and lasts for days in the frig. Plus, we're saving money! Scratch cooking is cheaper than buying commercial foods!

My dog's overall health, skin, and fur are amazing since I started gently cooking Dr. Judy's pup loaf recipe to feed him in lieu of kibble. It includes many of these ingredients, and I add olive oil in addition to flax oil.
For treats, I give him apple slices, a bit of yogurt, frozen green beans, and sometimes carrots. I gently cook the chicken gizzards and freeze the broth in ice cube trays for him to crunch when he's coming in from outside heat. I also freeze organic sugar free vegetable baby food in silicon trays for treats. Sometimes I make 3 ingredient salmon treats for training. Right now, my dog eats all whole foods, plus ALL veggies and beef are organic to avoid corn fed or sprayed products.

I’ve been preparing my dogs’ food for over 20 years. I’ve included many of the plant matter you suggested in this video. During this time, I lost 6 dogs to cancer. When my 11 year old Doberman developed a mammary tumor 2 years ago, I scoured the internet and threw away ALL plant matter and increased animal fat. On this strict ketogenic diet the tumor noticeably shrank. The beneficial side effects from removing “healthy” produce from my dogs’ diet - my young male’s seizures completely stopped, my young female’s reactivity completely stopped, the plaque on my 14 year old dog’s teeth flaked off with no other intervention, and my 4 Dobermans all had improved heart function as per their annual Holter and echocardiogram. I’m a trainer and when I can talk my clients into removing carbs from their dog’s diet, the dog saw tremendous health benefits. People in the health community have access to metabolic information the rest of us can’t access. I would love it if you supported a time restricted ketogenic diet for dogs and educated people on the benefits.

@@mithulasri1369 I just made more food last night:). I start with an oil like olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil. The ingredients vary depending on what I have available. Last night I cut up carrots, added a bag of frozen broccoli, 1.5 cups of brown rice, 3# of ground turkey, two cans of green beans, can of pumpkin. Then I add water 1/3 to 1/2 way up. I cook this in my large instant pot on high pressure for 27 minutes. Once finished cooking, I mix and mash everything. Then I put into glass bowls and freeze until I need it. I also like to add sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, peas. I buy a vitamin powder from Amazon that I add to their food when I serve it. Before I started making their food, I did ask their vet, and he assured me it was a good idea. Good luck!!! best thing I ever did for them.

Love this channel. The best advice ever for taking great care of your dogs! I have three dogs. All of them eat everything mentioned except the cinnamon. That will be added now. Everyone thought I was nuts feeding my dog sardines, spinach, carrots, yogurt, blueberries, apples and turmeric…..except my dogs. They love them all. I have no issue taking the time to do the right thing for my dogs. I enjoy making healthy foods for my dogs that will hopefully give them a long and illness free future. Whatever I can do to keep them healthy, energetic and out of the vets office from getting ill from all the garbage food that is sold in the grocery stores. I am a widow with little fur balls to keep me company. They are my life, my responsibility and my pleasure to care for. Always excited to see the docs new videos.

Also read we shouldn't mix dry kibble with human food cause it is digested differently. I think what happened is my husband and I would feed him canned chicken until I read contents which included 50% sodium. So does canned salmon, sardines, mackerel, etc. Have to read contents.

When I adopted the boys at age 6, their coats were not very healthy, with one of them actually had a nasty sore on his hip. After they ate the diet for a few months, the sore healed up and has not returned. Yes to sardines too and once in a while, when I cook salmon, they get the skin. The Simply Organic brand Ceylon cinammon (it will say Ceylon, specifically, on the bottle) is safer than the usual 'Cassia' type cinnamon that is most common, and just labelled as cinammon.) Too much of the cassia type can be toxic to the liver, and other unfavorable side effects.

My girl is a 5y.o. Westie. She came to me at 3y.o. She has been on a raw diet since she was 2.5y.o. When she developed struvite crystals (these can lead to bladder stones if not treated) at age 3, I began working with a certified pet nutritionist (we are in Australia) on a diet tailored to her specific needs. The struvite gravel resolved naturally and she's the picture of health - absolutely NO allergies here and her skin is fantastic (allergies and skin issues are something Westies are prone to.) . I can't recommend a raw diet highly enough......and be really careful of the treats you feed as some of the popular ones are packed with nasties☹. We also managed to avoid the "prescription' kibble the vet wanted her to be on FOR LIFE!

Another thing to consider in cancer prevention is to keep the dogs main area of living (kennel) and relaxation and sleeping area far away from the internet WiFi station or rotor. Very damaging to both humans and animals and even plants. Turning it off during the night is extremely helpful for everyone in the family, allowing the bodies to heal from the damaging emf frequencies. Also, keeping them away from your phone will help for the same reason. Another factor is chemicals from standard cleaning products - not good for humans either, but especially harmful to animals - even more sensitive. Another thing is artificial scents found in candles, aroma sprays, perfumes, etc - avoid! All the pesticides and fungicides and things we add to our lawns and around our houses - the dogs absorb these up through their paws easy and are very toxic. Also, is it possible to diminish the use of commercial meats? These are pumped full of antibiotics to produce faster growth in the animal, but affect the dogs gut, diminishing the health of the gut and overall health in general. All of these things are contributing to this crazy cancer rate in dogs and aren’t addressed a lot. All of the same apply to humans. Seems almost impossible to keep anyone healthy, but eliminating a few of these would definitely help…..

I get the veg cut small frozen from a local chef supply. I’m a cook by trade and have been doing this for my bull terrier since she was 5 months old. I add vitamin powder probiotics I get in bulk, ground flaxseed. I had my vet so a full metabolic blood panel on her and she was at the high end of the nutrition scale according to my vet. I recently found this channel in my efforts to improve the quality of my dog Kiwi's nutrition and health -- am very glad I did! Am transitioning from a 100% Royal Canin Dental kibble which the very large impersonal vet practice in my area is rigidly promoting (lovely people but I miss my former sensible vet now retired who also had time to treat the dogs of the homeless in our city) aiming in the short term for 1/2 kibble 1/2 cooked food following your recommendations Dr. Jones, then hopefully fully home prepared as she responds. Kiwi was always indifferent to her kibble so I was instinctively adding sweet potato blueberries and bits of apple, or alternatively a bit of sardine/egg (i.e. what I eat myself) and even that minor change was so encouraging; a 10 lb slightly bored 6 yr old Peke now really enthusiastic about our total 50 minutes outside on great walks plus other activities. Better late than never! The transition continues as per your videos. Keep up the amazing work and greetings from Toronto.

He mentions yogurt, but my dog has to have low fat due to pancreatitus & those have added sugar. Pooch, however loves plain Kefir made of fat free milk! It's really loaded with active cultures, more than yogurt. I wish someone would give infomation on rice based grain dogfood, I was aware about corn & soy being sprayed, but with rice I haven't found any info about it being sprayed with weed killer. I definitely haven't heard of rice being gmo. I have to use rice based because my dog was getting sick from wheat based products. Pea protein based I also avoid because peas in large amounts are toxic so I don't feel that's good for dogs that are smaller than humans. My dog doesn't like those grain free dog foods anyway. He ate it once & refused afterward so I quit giving it to him, I think it made him feel sick. If anyone has info about rice, please leave a comment, because he loves jasmine rice which I give him small amounts (1/2 c for a 60lb dog 4-5 feedings out of 14/week) in addition to his food. He refuses to eat carrots, even picks around them when mixed with other food, cooked, steamed or raw, doesn't matter. Will definitely be trying the others, because I lost both my Pomeranians to cancer despite them being really healthy otherwise. One was 17 & the vet couldn't believe her age because of how healthy her heart looked on the x-ray. But age made her too high risk to operate. They didn't have chemo for dogs back then. The other had it attached to her spine in her neck, completely inoperable. I miss them both dearly.

    What is the best kibbles??

    • @charlottehall5191
      @charlottehall5191 6 месяцев назад +2

Good question. Most of it has byproducts of chicken, pork, turkey, corn, soy, etc. Not including all the preservatives they use. Imo there isn't a good kibble. My former vet said never feed a dog pork. Used to feed my Maltese canned chicken until I read it has 50% sodium as well as canned salmon, Tuna, mackerel, etc. My 13 yo Maltese got sick with elevated liver enzymes.

@@charlottehall5191Milk thistle brought my senior Maltese/Yorkie's liver enzymes back down to normal. They remained that way for the rest of his life, even though he was on heart meds.

Thank you so much for not making us feel like the worst pet parent if you feed kibble. For some of us we can't afford other ways in time or money but I can add carrots and apples and yogurt and do what I can do for my dogs. I love them and want best for them and that best may not some else is best and shouldn't be bullied by guilt for it. So I appreciate that you provide solutions with 0 judgment in it.

Feed your dog or cat what they naturally are supposed to eat: MEAT. That is both lean and fat, which will have all the nutrients that they need. Neither humans nor dogs and cats are supposed to eat vegetables.

Humans can thrive & reverse disease on only plants... Dr. Brooke Goldner ... "Goodbye Lupus" ... the science proves her results with thousands!!! Just sayin'... (agreed.. dogs & cats.. MEAT)

I disagree - ever seen a dog eat grass? Grass is good for treating worms but they don't eat it because they are wormy - that's a fallacy. Pay attention to your dog - they will tell you a LOT!!!

@@JanaLemons-dl7tk You ought to know that dogs and cats eat grass when they have digestive problems from people feeding them inappropriate food, or they want to vomit to throw up a hairball.

I’m new here! My pup is 7 going on 8 and I am looking to switch up his food. My sweet Chico passed a few weeks ago and it was a devastating wake up call! It still hurts but it woke me up and I must change my pups food now. It’s overwhelming and going through the comments here, I think I may have found my new community 🎉 Please share any extra tips! Me and my Miklo would highly appreciate it 🐶❤ We’re ready to change and live a longer healthier life together.
Ps. Say HIII to your puppies for me 👋🏼

I feed my dog 100 percent natural diet. when we are walking we see the guys with the tanks hitting the mulch and bushes and grass. I am so angered that nothing is being done about this. What about our babies in the world.
It's nuts! All for a weed. So we garden differently and learn to live with some more weeds. That can't be worse than the the alternative

Amazing! I love it! I've given my dogs veggies as snacks and in meals all their life. Some like it better than others. We do tumeric chicken homemade for them plus the broth. The pets who enjoyed it lived much longer, the pets who ate canned food and kibble lived shorter lives. I had many rescues, thats how I know. Will try the flax! Yes, probiotics are always a must.

@@VeterinarySecrets Yes I am 100% committed to them. Right now I am struggling with a chalazion on my dog's lower eyelid, it is not infected, we have been to the vet. I tried euphrasia drops, tea bags, he gets garlic and herbs with meals, I wash his face with a cloth in the mornings, but its just like a stye that wont shrink. He hates when I do hot compresses. I try local honey, but its just still there. He wont let me use red light but I heard it can work too.
