Tinkaton definitely one of my new favourite Pokémon. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it on my team. So getting to hear about its influences was great.
Surprised you didn't bring up how Tinkatink has its hammer and the materials used for it stolen by Pokemon that eat metal (near literally taking candy from a baby), as it might explain the homicidal tendencies the Tinkaton has towards steel types besides its own line
I love how started playing dubstep for seemingly no reason after saying “ *huge* blacksmith-Chan” I also got REALLY happy when I saw robin from iconoclasts It’s pretty underrated, and one of my favorite games
I freaking knew this would one of the first post game release Pokemon you would do and I'm not complaining in the slightest. Tinkaton is really a standout of the gen and probably my favourite Paldea mon. As a Kirby fan, I very much like the small pink things with tremendous power.
I honestly hope to see some fanart of Tinkaton with Monster Hunter weapons that are made up of different steel-type pokemon. Imagine one of those little gremlins wielding a Gunlance.
Im really glad you touched on how the rattle is still the core of the hammer along the evolutions. I don't see that detail talked about often. Love this video.
Tinkaton is a vital part of my friend-shaped team, right up there with Bellibolt and Clodsire, so I'm choosing to believe the Pinkerton connection is coincidental at best. In any case, wonderful to see this line get highlighted.
I love this mon so much! When I saw it I was like "Squee! You are so cute! You are coming from me!" Though if I had known how big her hammer would get I would've named her Autumn's Dust. Instead of Autumn Dusk. XD
You really don’t miss! This is so filled with incredible information it’s mind blowing and really helps us appreciate your hard work and the design creators! Even the “Pinkertons” was not a stretch especially considering even the shiny form stays true to the name and remains pink
Tinkaton really struck a cord with me, and it's now one of my new favorite Pokémon, even my new favorite Steel-type. Getting to know the lore and inspirations around it definitely helped, too.
It gets a bit darker than that, too. If you look a shiny Corviknight, its metal is a proper silver color. Shiny Tinkaton's hammer on the other hand is much darker, even rustic. That might kill the connection, until you look at the color of tarnished silver.
Fun fact: talonflames Pokédex entry says it can Carry prey up to 220 pounds, the same Weight as tinkatons hammer. So it get revenge for tinkaton killing it corvinignt brother, I like to believe.
It’s so cool you showed off Felicia from Magia Record at 2:17!! Thats who I renamed my Tinkaton after when I couldn’t decide on a name for her when she was a Tinkatink >w
What's interesting to me is that it seems to be implied by the "daring disposition" that the tinka line's engagements with pokémon like corviknight aren't guaranteed to be successful, but frequent enough to make corviknight want to avoid the area.
The trope of Little-Girl-Big-Hammer could also be applied to Hilda Goneril of Fire Emblem Three Houses bit instead of a hammer she gets an axe and is a physical powerhouse in the game.
Interesting fact: There are duende in the Philippines as well. Filipino duende live in mounds and like being given gifts. It’s also tradition to say Tabi Tabi Po while walking by natural mounds.

I also like to think Gigaton Hammer hits every other turn because it’s referencing making mochi. One person hits the mochi while another folds it for the next strike. And with the pigtails, it even looks like a rabbit making mochi!
Aww, man, I liked Tinkaton. She's a good girl and basically the Hatterene of this generation. I love the kawaii immature doof adults who try to defy Christmas cakeification with chaos and sweetness. There is an episode of Looney Tunes describing a lot of these tropes quite well. It's called "Falling Hare" and is one of the few times Bugs is the victim. And it's at the hands of an airplane Gremlin. And wouldn't you know it... in the episode, he has a GIANT HAMMER. It's a great example of the tropes put together. You can see it on RUclips, just search for Falling Hare.
Wow, what deep inspiration and here I thought that Tinkaton was just Poppy from the Trolls movie mixed with traits of actual trolls… I just thought this because so many Paldean Pokémon seem to be based on characters from various pop-culture medias (ex: video games, comic books, children’s books, animated movies, anime, etc.).
I didn't expect Lockstin to talk about the "Martxoak 3 / 3 de Marzo / 3rd of March" incident in Spain, I live next to the church were everything happened and my grandmother was able to view everything from our balcony. It was a slaughter from which "luckily" only 5 people died, while having 150+ wounded, in a country where usage of fire arms was pretty rare. Tensions were pretty high, the incident took place in a city of the Basque Country which had our Basque culture stripped from while the dictatorship of Franco. Civilians were already tense with the government and factory owners were pushing workers way to hard. The workers organized a formal strike barricading inside a church and the police abused a loophole in the law about the property of the church and being an occupation of a private, government owned place. The higher ups ordered policemen to open fire but even common policemen knew it was a masacre so most aimed to wound and not to kill, even when they were ordered to shoot to kill. The injuries registered (around 150) are only about gunfire injuries, many people who even weren't part of the strike were brutally beaten up by policemen who didn't want to use their gun. A friend's grandfather lost his leg due to a beat down, and if you ask around many people have some anecdote about that day. It's an event which still has marked the history of the city until this day, but through violence and blood we now can live with worker rights. To this day there's an association and many political rallies are held on March 3rd, to commemorate and ask for fairer treatment of workers
I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that Tuff and Ton have legs that are backwards, their whole lower half seems to be twisted around. The Douen a type of duende are also known for having backward feet. You even put up a picture of a backward footed Douen in your video at 4:54
I'm so glad to learn all of this stuff; I presumed the Tinkaton line was based more around Hephaestus as the ruins they are around also have Bronzor/Bronzing and Falinks, and kind of made a bigger nod towards Rome/ Greece.
The Mouros part of the inspiration got me thinking. What if there were male Tinkaton that instead of crafting a giant hammer, they used their crafting skill to create a more refined weapon? Like a sniper rifle, because why not? Male and female Tinkaton hunt as a duo, with the hammer-swinging girlboss doing what she does best, while the other picks off the stragglers from afar. The tag team is so effective that Paldea is starting to face a steel type shortage in some areas. Give it a signature move, a special steel type attack that either crits more often or is super effective against steel types.
Bonus points in Spanish lore: There was a report from an helicopter being taken down after a man who thought the engine was too loud and flying too low take the vehicle down with a stone which got stuck in the tail rotor. The case was never closed since it was the words of one man against the other's thus the myth of the spanish man taking a helicopter down with a stone being why Tinkaton takes the Corviknights down with a stone - given how Corvs are like the helicopters of human transport.
7:48 I realized that pretty quick and its one of the things that made tinkaton not only my favorite pokemon in this region, but my third favorite pokemon of all time!
Y’know if tinkaton ever gets introduced to galar that Pokémon species would be considered as an invasive species since galar relies on corviknight taxi
Wanted to add, gremlins are a thing in the motercycle community as well. We gift each other bells to hang on our bikes to ward off gremlins. That would other wise cause the bike to malfunction
3:35 I know another tinkerer: the tech-element skylander named Sprocket, well any of that element would still work here but I figured you’d find interest in her specifically… in series 2 she even has a tank on her skylander “figurine”(personally, not fond of the status being called toys but sadly I’m easily defeated in that argument).
Honestly I think one of my favorite little design details for this line is you can still see Tinkatinks little baby rattle/mallet in its evo's weapons. It doesn't make new weapons when it evolves, it's improves its first one. . . I love her so much I swear--
So if Tinkaton’s hammer weighs over *220 pounds* as mentioned in its Violet Dex entry, that is quite heavy… But the thing is the Scarlet entry for Talonflame states it can carry prey over *220 pounds* … … O_O Well…large birds of prey like eagles can carry heavy prey like monkeys or foxes. Roid a falcon up into a Phoenix and that puts faeries on the menu. And of course there are legends of birds of prey carrying people off to eat. So a short, fairy-lady seems plausible for consumption.
The thing is the whole Tinkaton weighs 247 pounds, and the hammer weighs "Over 220 pounds". Then that means Tinkaton itself only weighs somewhere around 20-27 pounds, and is swinging around a hammer 11 TIMES as heavy as itself like it's no big deal.
The best thing to come out of each new generation? The loads of puzzles set up for Lockstin to pick apart in videos! This was a partially well done breakdown. Great job team!!
When I read corviknights dex entry and it said it can't be used for taxi service cause of predators, and tinkatons dex entry said it hunted corviknight I took it literally and thought that tinkaton eats corviknight... Looking back it really makes no sense but it's still funny though
Well, I'd assume that Corviknight has squishy insides underneath all its metal feathers. Not too far-fetched of an idea to say that the prey they use for materials for their hammers is also the prey they use for food.
I've always liked gremlins. After seeing a cartoon where Bugs Bunny was pitted against one and it consistently got the better of him, I was delighted to see Bugs finally get a taste of his own medicine.
Tinkaton can learn rock moves via TM but can't learn Rock Throw or Rock Blast at all. Also Corviknight, being part Steel-type, isn't weak to Rock-type attacks. Not to mention that aside from Thunder Wave, Tinkaton can't learn Electric-type or Fire-type attacks, Corviknight's only weaknesses.
It seems that I will now have a fairy as my favourite pokemon of each generation from now on. It's been happening since sword and shield. Alcremie: Adorable creamunculous that ands to be your friend, and comes in 77 designer forms. Tinkaton (Huge Hammer Chan): Tiny pink moe-blob of extreme violence.
BlackPink’s light stick is a pink mallet 🤣 Also made me think of Hilda from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Pink haired little girl. Super strong with an affinity for oversized axes.
Gigaton Hammer is the most satisfying Pokémon movie I’ve ever seen (besides oblivion wing) something about running around bonking things with a stab boosted terra boosted base 160 power hydraulic press, that fills me with pure happiness
When Lockstin was going through the trope, I straight said something along the lines of, "Oh, like Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan," only to get whiplash when he said himself shortly after
Tinkaton is my favorite Mon this generation. Any Pokémon the wields and oversized weapon or is able to do so is easily on of my favorites. Sir Fetched and Zacian were my favorites in the previous generation.
This one would be cool for Pokemon to reference, but Polly from Amphibia has a knack for tinkering with mechanics and weapons in the later seasons, even becoming a mechanic when she grows up. Not to mention she's also pink...and vicious.
Really wished that they match the pokemon's move to their dex entries. Tinkaton is Covidknight's natural predator, but it can't learn any attacks to hit it super efficiently. It's even at a disadvantage against covidknigjt type wise.
I would like to mention that at the top of Tinkaton's hammer, there seems to be something that resembles a sextant, an "instrument for determining the angle between the horizon and a celestial body such as the Sun, the Moon, or a star, used in celestial navigation to determine latitude and longitude."

Also, I can't be the only one to think that Tinkaton looks a lot like Jack Frost from the SMT series which that alone makes me love Tinkaton even more!
She's Whack Frost! Hee-ho!
HEE-HO!
Ah, StickMaster500. Long gone are the times where you'd be commenting about Pokemon on NISLT videos and the like. I think, idk I rarely see your comments now. Does SIn even still upload? At any rate, if Tinkaton were around then, do you think you'd've "mentioned" it or would that be worthy of horny jail instead?
>Pokemon's very own Bonk Hammer
They give us a Pokemon to bonk us to horni jail, then they make the it very lewdable. That has to be some form of torture
@@imoutoconnoisseurLewdable?
Tinkaton definitely one of my new favourite Pokémon. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it on my team.
So getting to hear about its influences was great.
Surprised you didn't bring up how Tinkatink has its hammer and the materials used for it stolen by Pokemon that eat metal (near literally taking candy from a baby), as it might explain the homicidal tendencies the Tinkaton has towards steel types besides its own line
"Hey you, yes you, you stole my BEAUTIFUL hammer ages ago! Well it's *time for some sweet revenge!* "
I love how started playing dubstep for seemingly no reason after saying “ *huge* blacksmith-Chan”
I also got REALLY happy when I saw robin from iconoclasts
It’s pretty underrated, and one of my favorite games
One of the best gen 9 Pokemon. It's Pokedex entry and signature move are amazing
If only it had a higher attack stat to better utilize said move
@@OtisCluck If it had like say 20 extra point than it would have hit as hard as Zacian using behemoth blade and its banned in ubers.
I freaking knew this would one of the first post game release Pokemon you would do and I'm not complaining in the slightest. Tinkaton is really a standout of the gen and probably my favourite Paldea mon. As a Kirby fan, I very much like the small pink things with tremendous power.
he did tandemaus before tinkaton
That's why I said "one of the first".
I’m really loving these new more intense and powerful fairies like grimsnarl and tinkaton
Good to see that GameFreak isn't going to relegate Fairy-Types to just be "the sex-bait type" anymore.
Imagine if the Metagross line was native to Paldea, what kind of monstrous hammer will Tinkaton have.
Regional variant(?)
sinnohian tinkaton
I honestly hope to see some fanart of Tinkaton with Monster Hunter weapons that are made up of different steel-type pokemon. Imagine one of those little gremlins wielding a Gunlance.
The power of magnetism! Tinkaton would have something like a Gravity Hammer from Halo
Iron man tinkaton
Im really glad you touched on how the rattle is still the core of the hammer along the evolutions. I don't see that detail talked about often. Love this video.
I love Tinkaton, how much? A ton, me tinks.
Honestly, tinkaton deserved to be a pseudo legendary more than baxcalibur
While I don’t disagree, with the typing it has, 600BST would make it potentially overpowered and easily OU.
Hey now, there’s no need for any Baxcaliber hate. It’s really cool
No, Baxcalibur’s cool, Goodra doesn’t deserve
True
@@ThisAintGood. All of the Psudos deserve to be Psudos.
Tinkaton is a vital part of my friend-shaped team, right up there with Bellibolt and Clodsire, so I'm choosing to believe the Pinkerton connection is coincidental at best. In any case, wonderful to see this line get highlighted.
I don't buy it. Something has to keep the friend-shaped 'mons "friendly".
Waiting for a Clock convergent form Tinkaton called "Tickatok"
I LOVE this idea.
Tinkaton really struck a cord with me, and it's now one of my new favorite Pokémon, even my new favorite Steel-type. Getting to know the lore and inspirations around it definitely helped, too.
At first I thought she was kind of goofy, but everyone loves the goblin energy with a big mallet
The goofiness is part of her charm, my friend.
Tinkaton reminds me of Monster Hunter, it's a humanoid with a huge mechanic weapon made off the innards of a creature much bigger than Tinkaton itself
The fact that regular/shiny Tinkaton's hammer is the same color as regular/shiny Corviknight is a nice, if grim, touch.
Yes
It gets a bit darker than that, too. If you look a shiny Corviknight, its metal is a proper silver color. Shiny Tinkaton's hammer on the other hand is much darker, even rustic. That might kill the connection, until you look at the color of tarnished silver.
Shiny Tinkaton's hammer is nothing like a shiny Corviknight
3:42 Finally, somebody acknowledges the Tinkerbell movie from 2008!
Literally my first thought when I saw the mon when the game came out. Even has the same hairstyle.
Interesting fact: There are duende in the Philippines as well. Filipino duende live in mounds and like being given gifts. It’s also tradition to say Tabi Tabi Po while walking by natural mounds.
Most places "found" by Portugal and Spain normally have some similar tradicions Philipins were "found" by a Portuguese navigator so that does make sence .
Remember thebsix episode Series Trese?
I do remeber it. That sneaky bastard after all that happened...
its just business... ugh
So do all the places in the world where Portugal and Spain colonized
Because it was brought there by spanish and portuguese.
Tinkaton's shiny is actually perfect! People hate it because it's body doesn't change but think about it! She's using shiny corviknight to make its shiny hammer! SHE'S A SHINY HUNTER!
The shiny colors are not the same
It dosent make sense, as shiny Corviknight is silver colored, not copper/bronze colored.
@@sindraile5128 The hammer is, however, a very similar color to tarnished silver.
@@post-ironicgarbageig2345 Ah, I see. Though I do think it should have a few darker smudged areas/a slightly different texture on the hammer. They did change textures for shiny magikarp and the dung beetle [I dont remember his name]
Coincidentally, I nicknamed my Tinkaton after League's character. Then, during elite 4, I was caught off guard as the 2nd trainer was also named Poppy (in german version) AND threw out Tinkaton.
Lol. Same. My immediate thought when when I got her was "she looks like Poppy."
Her name is Poppy too in English iirc
I actually named mine after a JoJo stand. All of my powerful ones are.
My tink is called Spicy Girl.
Anihilape is Survivor
Luxray is Chilli Pepper.
I'm still looking for a Pokemon to call White Album.
Great Tusk is Underworld.
Slither Wing is Super Fly.
Sandy Shocks is Metallica.
And my Armarouge is Magicians Red
@@furionmax7824 Lol I named my Tinkaton after a Jojo stand too, the stand being Paisley Park
@@hemlock1881 Paisley Park? Is that from Steel Ball? I never got that manga. Might tho soon.
But Survivor (anihilape) is my baby. And I love the history behind it.
Btw. I named my Koraidon Planet Waves after the heart stand held by Westwood that could pull down meteorites from the sky.
I also like to think Gigaton Hammer hits every other turn because it’s referencing making mochi. One person hits the mochi while another folds it for the next strike. And with the pigtails, it even looks like a rabbit making mochi!
1:50 can’t forget about the girl with the gall, Sena
My favorite character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is Sena. And you pretty much nailed her with your description of the trope.
"YIPEE!"
I like how Tinkaton Kills Corviknite with a Corvikinte!
Corviknight is spelled with a C.
2:08 “HOW BIG IS THIS TROPE!? IS IT AS BIG AS THE HAMMERS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?”
Aww, man, I liked Tinkaton. She's a good girl and basically the Hatterene of this generation. I love the kawaii immature doof adults who try to defy Christmas cakeification with chaos and sweetness.
And also, down with Pinkerton and Baldwin-Felts! Down with the blacklegs and scabs! Which side are you on?
He’s just giving us information that relates to the Pokémon I don’t think he actually supports the stuff.
@@echo-048
Oh I know. But I feel every mention of strikebreakers and union busters needs all that said.
Don't scab for the bosses!
Don't listen to their lies!
Us poor folks haven't got a chance unless we organize!
These things need to be said more now than ever since unions became a staple of lavor
9:54 they could probably use the stork instead but it would drop the customer on purpose so they have to use parrots
I love how theres no such thing as a shiny Tinkaton. Just Shiny Hunting Tinkatons.
Tinkatons, the first shiny hunters amongst the Pokémon species.
I thought I'd hate this thing, but when I got used to the gen 9 designs, this became one of my favorites
Will you consider making a video on all of the returning Pokémon in SV and why they’re in the Paldea region?
Tinkaton is our hero
Wow, what deep inspiration and here I thought that Tinkaton was just Poppy from the Trolls movie mixed with traits of actual trolls…
I just thought this because so many Paldean Pokémon seem to be based on characters from various pop-culture medias (ex: video games, comic books, children’s books, animated movies, anime, etc.).
3:50 That last trope is even used in Scarlet and Violet with Penny
(Sees Corviknight)
Tinkaton: That's it! I'm getting me mallet!
I love your videos, you’re so tenacious and I can’t get over it :)))
13:26 "Spaaaaaaaaaaaain! Sweden." Ok, that actually got a laugh out of me! I don't know if that was supposed to be that funny, but it was! XD
Girls with Giant Hammers are quite Smashing
*BONK*

I literally just got my screen fixed 2 days ago (phone was unusable) and that crack nearly gave me a stroke.
Y’know if tinkaton ever gets introduced to galar that Pokémon species would be considered as an invasive species since galar relies on corviknight taxi
Absolutely love this Pokémon. I also love these deep dive videos. They give me such deeper appreciation for the Pokémon. Thank you!
5:03 There in the waaaaalls. THEY'RE IN THE GODAMN WALLS
Wanted to add, gremlins are a thing in the motercycle community as well. We gift each other bells to hang on our bikes to ward off gremlins. That would other wise cause the bike to malfunction
I named my Tinkaton "Amy Rose".
For obvious reasons.
Please someone remember skylanders in general, they’re gone but shouldn’t be forgotten whatsoever!!!
Her signature move should've been very unique, where it's always super-effective on Corviknight specifically regardless of (tera) type.
Honestly I think one of my favorite little design details for this line is you can still see Tinkatinks little baby rattle/mallet in its evo's weapons.
It doesn't make new weapons when it evolves, it's improves its first one.
. .
I love her so much I swear--
So if Tinkaton’s hammer weighs over *220 pounds* as mentioned in its Violet Dex entry, that is quite heavy…
But the thing is the Scarlet entry for Talonflame states it can carry prey over *220 pounds*
…
…
O_O
Well…large birds of prey like eagles can carry heavy prey like monkeys or foxes.
Same. I thought that tinkatons use their metal to make their hammers more sturdier and then eat them. Also, you like earrape?
@@Idkanymore9029 maybe they pluck off the metal feathers to improve their hammers, and then they eat the plucked corviknight. Probably
Well, I'd assume that Corviknight has squishy insides underneath all its metal feathers. Not too far-fetched of an idea to say that the prey they use for materials for their hammers is also the prey they use for food.
Nah, Tinkaton picks fights with them.
Yeah it’s really funny cus corviknight easily walls and does more damage to tinktaon
Super strong with an affinity for oversized axes.
i wrote a fic where tinkaton got added to blackpink as a fifth member. COINCIDENCE
2:00 I'm just grateful you mentioned Malice. What a great, OG Xbox memory for me.
Workers in the region " we want too unionize" the boss "send in the tinkaton!"
Gigaton Hammer is the most satisfying Pokémon movie I’ve ever seen (besides oblivion wing) something about running around bonking things with a stab boosted terra boosted base 160 power hydraulic press, that fills me with pure happiness
I love Tinkaton too!
i loved it when they said "It's tinkerin' time!" and tinkered a ton
I wonder if the teeth are also a reference to the "flesh tooth" trope somewhat popular with spunky, tomboy-ish and/or mischievous anime girls
When Lockstin was going through the trope, I straight said something along the lines of, "Oh, like Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan," only to get whiplash when he said himself shortly after
1:27 AYOO you know what Blazblue is? BASED
