Umm... I’m presuming you stopped the video before Kyle Scatcliffe began singing immediately after her... that guy blew everyone off the stage... most amazing Enjolras I’ve heard since Anthony Warlow.
haha... Eponine should've never fallen for Marius, what's he got to offer anyway? He's just a soft pretty boy. I always shipped her with Enjolras -- they have a similar fierceness deserving of each other. Of course, Enjolras is too busy with organizing the revolution and the two never really crossed paths! Who cares about your lonely soul? We strive toward a larger goal. Our little lives don't count at all.
My personal theory as to why Eponine liked Marius was just that he was 1) the only kind person in her life and 2) the epitome of all the things she could have been (rich, beautiful, young, optimistic, etc.). I agree that it's a shame Eponine never had the opportunity to enjoy the world on a broader scale and meet more people - whether they would have been the right person for her or whether they would have just shown her that Marius wasn't the be all and end all.
yeah I can totally see that, it's a good theory. Still doesnt change the fact that I will always see Marius as quite a bit of a frou frou pants... which he was LOL.
anrina really? He made the choice on his own to move away from the comfort of his rich grandfather's house after realizing his flawed his political beliefs were, educated himself, learned English and German and got a job translating books, which paid quite little, but before he even got that job lived in poverty (not on the level of eponine's, but pretty damn bad) in an apartment alone, refusing the financial assistance his grandfather tried to give because of how his grandfather raised him to believe his father abandoned him (which he didn't)? Sorry I just don't understand how you see him that way?
Just Lea's voice casually being identical to how it was 25 years ago. Queen of technique and the result is her voice has been protected throughout the years. Take note!
Pamela Hermano He wasn't available. He was in rehearsal in Sarasota, Florida for the pre-Broadway production of the musical "Bonnie and Clyde" as the lead, Clyde Barrow. He followed the show to Broadway where it debuted November 2011.
I'd have taken pretty much anyone over Nick Jonas.... the cast was so good until he sang. Ramin and Hadley had their wonderful moment in Drink With Me and then the whining pop voice of Nick sounded really pathetic. Can't have been easy for him though knowing he was singing alongside some of the best actors in the West End.
its all about attracting people to watch it...unfortunately "the people" aka the losers who arent musical theater nerds will be drawn in by celebrity recognition instead of actual talent hence someone mediocre like nick jonas (had the same thought exactly when i watched that version over the weekend) if you want to cleanse your soul, watch the 10th anniversary concert edition, best version of les mis out there
How much has Nick Jonas paid to get the role? It was embarrassing. He might be good in pop music (for tthe teenies) But he definitely hasn't fit in the musical - especially not for the anniversary!!!
And he isn’t keeping it all together. He’s pushing his tempo as control. Why be so egotistical and let the musicians fail? Also, he should not be so big with his patterns. I am a conductor and know the difference between “too much” and “just right.” Sorry! My two cents. Each to their own 😊
Ben Abella you only think that because you're proud to be a Filipino. they are all extremely talented and they all gave outstanding performances. Lea hardly shined more than the others in this sheesh
Event Coordinator: Okay guys, please remember to wear classical colors. You know, something that doesn't attract too much attention. Lea: PINK. PINK SOUNDS GOOD. AND IMMA BE IN THE MIDDLE WHERE I'M THE ODD ONE OUT! No offense people, I love Lea too. She's one of my great inspirations
Even if Lea was not wearing a pink dress, her sole presence was more than enough to command the stage. Then anyone could tell her voice has summed all up the company's performance. Perfect!
Just discovered Jeremy as a singer, watched a few videos before this and I'm amazed, and seeing him sing a LesMis song with Lea Salonga whom I love too is too much! his voice is great.
Love this! I think that Lea's choice of outfit is symbolic really. Eponine is the one character in the song thatkind of gets lost. By wearing such a bright color, the audience is naturally drawn to her. However as Eponine, the one who doesn't see her is the one person she wants to see her.
Lea and Norm Lewis! omfg! goosebumps! and the one singing enjolras part could'nt hide his smile when Lea sang ahhh her voice did not change so clear and heavenlike! yasss slay queen! 🌟🌟🌟
Lina Lea Salonga is one of the best Eponines if not the best. But not all Eponines were great, there was one who sounded like a cow in labor. I'd rather not name names.
Love this. Lea stayed in character, the consummate pro. But did anyone else notice that they were seriously off beat about 3:00? It very nearly became a train wreck. Professionals that they all are, including the poor conductor, they kept it going and pulled it together for the finish. It's a reminder of how difficult these massive productions can be, even for an A-list lineup like this who probably had just a single rehearsal. Wonderful, wonderful.
John Owen-Jones is seriously one of the *BEST* Valjeans and one of the *BEST* Phantoms. Like Ramin Karimloo, his voice is just this wall of sound that envelops me, grabs me and doesn't let go...I could listen to both him AND Ramin and never get tired of either of them.

Lea Salonga is truly amazing. She is outstandingly good. better than the best. ASAP she starts singing, the air in the hall changes completely. goosebumps
Is it normal to cry after seeing and hearing this? Like, I just got goosebumps. As someone who loves the world of theatre, Les miserables is a renowned masterpiece and this is just very overwhelming for me. This is the greatest!
And back again...and this time for some reason I was thinking that THIS SONG could be like our national anthem...no idea why that got into my head THIS time but it DID and I will be back to watch and listen again!
Wait, Lea and Jeremy on the same stage? Such versatility. Never thought I'll see both of them on the same stage. I only knew him on Supergirl. As for Lea, well, she's Lea.
Lea was like, "what are you guys gonna wear? Black? Oh ok I'll wear bright pink and take center stage. Just don't mind me"
that is just none of your biz!
I guess you could say she's
ON HER OWN
Miss Lea's voice is as bright as the color she wears. Lovely!
really??? i didn't notice that...........oh, maybe it's her perfect voice, and her perfect notes that i noticed more!
well she was in the middle of the stage at least from the camera angle LOL
I love how Lea's attitude is like "Yep, I'm center stage and wearing a hot pink dress in a sea of black and gold...watch me slay."
reminds me of Catriona Gray where everyone wears either silver or gold and she worn a red lava gown.
@@labellavita12 Lol, didn't know that, but that's awesome

WOW Leah Salonga and Jeremy Jordan in same stage!

Exacrly. Thats what i thought too
Same thought. Two of my most favourite persons in the world
They had a duet "Almost Paradise" I'm sure you'll like it
Lea the Legendary. The woman is timeless! She sounds exactly like she did when she played Eponine in the 10th Les Mis anniversary.
TheVeeVentures&Vlogs ;
even better, actually
@@sam-dg9by She's like wine, better with age
Agreed. The Queen voice never changes.
the guy singing the Enjolras part seemed pretty impressed with Lea Salonga's singing..
yea, noticed that too
I noticed that as well. God, the way her voice rings clear and true!
ikr
It's probably because no one on Broadway has ever sung that part as amazingly as Lea did
That's Kyle Scatliffe, he played Enjolras in the Broadway revival. He was probably star struck.
Lea as Eponine again like oh my gosh. you sound perfect madam!
I got the chills once Lea started singing, and the guy singing the part of Enjolras (?) was phenomenal.
Mary G.
Kyle Scatcliff and yeah you're welcome haha
I'm choosing to believe his Best Featured Actor nomination from the 2014 Tony Awards was, what, lost in the mail somewhere?
I will be eternally shook by the fact that Lea's voice is always discernible even when they're all singing together and there's an orchestra
Agreed! One can always tell it's her 😊
Lea Salonga has never hit a flat note! Man, she’s awesome! 😍
100%
Saw her in this original role - amazing
Yes she is a perfect pitch ❤❤❤ and that is her edge to other filipino singer and international singer❤❤
Lea is fabulous, pitch perfect, georgeous ,total star.
