Nice!! You are getting at it. The trees do drink up a lot of water but they are a highway for the critters when they get tall and a little too friendly. Nothing like a flying squirrel colony. Gotta maintain the perimeter!
Hey Jim I noticed in the basement you have a window. You could take out the window pane or the whole window. And put a piece of plexiglass in there with a hole in it that you could run the hose through if you need the clarity for light. If not a sheet of galvanized metal screwed on there block with a window was and put a hole through it that put your host through it and seal around it. No need to put a hole in the foundation en route the hose out that way. Just an idea.
Get a pump in a bucket setup that can pump it out up hill. Dig a hole set the bucket in surround it with some stone or gravel. Can even concrete around the top . Or if you got a floor brake a hole in it set it in.
Doing a great job on the roof coming along nicely something abit different than fixing cars all the time you have to be a jack of all trades good on ya jimbo blessings to you and everyone else from tropical far north Queensland tablelands Australia
I used to reblock houses about 50yrs ago, laying on my stomach I would dig about 15 holes a day, fit the stumps, go home and do it all again the next day, yes the houses were low to the ground here in Australia. 😊
I’m almost 70 Jim with COPD and I putter around doing stuff on my home. Takes longer than ever to get it done but , feels good when it’s finished. Perhaps take out one of the panes of glass in the window and replace it with a piece of plexiglass. Then you can run the sump hose through the plexiglass.👍👍🇨🇦
Have you considered putting the sump drain pipe out one of the panes in that window , or even putting glass bocks in there and just running the drain downslope?
That is a cool old house. I wonder if you can do your sump on the outside of the basement. I use to live in a house that had a well pit just outside the back door where the expansion tank and well pump switch were located. In the bottom of the well pit was where the sump was located. The well pit was big enough to stand up in and was made out of cement block. It seems like you house is above the water table, so that could work. Of course the best solution in your case would be to dig a trench from one corner of the house out toward the road and that should take care of your water problem without having to have a sump pump. Just would need to have a trencher do the trench or a backhoe.
Jim you are the best. I really hope you don’t over do yourself when working on your roof. I haven’t started on my roof yet. Jim how would I start my first run of shingles on my roof. Could you please show me how you started the first run. Thanks Jim love your channel. Be careful Jim.
Yeah the house will stand out once you get that tree out of the way and the raccoons don't have no ladder to get in the house which is a good thing is Looking a lot better Jimbo just be careful my friend
JIM! ALSO PUT ALL OF YOUR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ON THE BASEMENT CEILING!- AWAY FROM THE WATER, BECAUSE , THAT! LAST TIME YOU WHERE PUMPING THE WATER OUT OF YOUR BASEMENT,I WAS AFRAID, THAT YOU WAS GOING GET A ELECTRICAL SHOCK!- WHEN YOU BEGIN TO PLUG 🔌 UP , THAT ELECTRIC WATER PUMP 😮- YOU MIGHT NEED TO PUT SOME SAND BAGS AROUND YOUR OUTSIDE BASEMENT DOOR! TO SLOW DOWN THAT WATER COMING INTO YOUR BASEMENT! I JUST TRY TO HELP YOU! STAY SAFE!🔌💦👍
Hey….don’t spend all your time on the house…..there are plenty of Automotive things we want to see. Who needs a house when you have a barn full of cars!😊😊😊😊Steve

It’s great to see the place being fixed. We’ve lost far too many of these old homes in our landscape in the last 20-30 years. Keep up the good work.

He's hasn't got a pit, the pump placement as it sits, requires a flooded basement before it operates.
Nice job Jim
