I LOVE WatchChaMaCallIt candy bars!! One of my very favorites! This looks so delicious, Catherine! Can"t wait to make it! Thanks for another fabulous video!
Even though I'm not very fond of candy and sweets, I like these recipes , especially, this time of the year. It's , always , nice to have a nice treat for your loved ones 👻 🎃 ❤ and 👍
This candy bar was one of my favorites when I was a kid,I don't see them around anymore!!it's so awesome to share this recipe ❤im making these for sure 😊 thank you so much Catherine 🥰 have a great day family❤
Loved that candy bar as a kid. Don't see them much anymore but it's great to know that it can be made at home and looks super easy. Thanks Mrs. Catherine for your recipe.
Yum, I love those Whatamacallit candy bars, I don’t see them very often now. These also remind me of our popular Midwest treat called Scotcheroos..made quite similarly except with karo syrup and sugar instead of the marshmallows.
Catherine, I first have to say that I always go to your videos when deciding what to eat 😊, and second, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in March. I had A1C of 13.6 and my sugars was 531. I'm now at 5.6, but since I have no clue about any of this I was hardly eating. I am off the insulin. But I don't plan on cutting out the good stuff. I made the Payday bars in a large 12x17 pan for my family, neighbor, and myself, they love them. And I just might be making these. As always thank you for your wonderful recipes ❤. If I like something I'm making it,, and that's that 😂.
You had my mouth watering...LOL!! That is a delicious candy bar.. And that looks so good.. Glad Thomas is feeling better and back to his ornery self..😜😜❤️😁🤗👍
I remember those candy bars. One of my favorites. I haven't seen them since. Thanks for sharing this. I'm gonna have to make this for holiday gifts.. YumO
Yes I remember this candy bar Catherine!😍 It has so many ingredients they didn't know what to call it!😋 And they would have had to make the candy bar bigger to fit all different items on the wrapper!🌯 I love the puffy crunch of the Rice Krispies! I also love chocolate, peanut butter and caramel and who doesn't love the fluff!😘 When it came time to name this candy bar, someone in the back of the room probably said, "whatchamacallit"! If they had added one more ingredient, they would have probably called it The Kitchen Sink!😉 You've done a great job duplicating this candy bar!👍 On a side note, I ran across something new yesterday and wondered if you had seen it. Snickers has been around for a very long time and have replaced the nut several times. I never cared for the peanuts even though it was so similar to Baby Ruth (which I loved). I liked the almonds and even the peanut butter! I was at the checkout and happened to see a new version. They now have pecans in the Snickers! They had them on special so I grabbed two. I love pecans in most anything but the jury is still out (which is why I bought two). If "pecans" hadn't been on the wrapper, I probably wouldn't have known they were in there. I detected other elements of a Snickers, mostly gooey and chocolatey. There was definitely a little crunch from the nuts but I didn't distinguish it being pecans. I'll have the other one and see if I can really identify the pecans. Turtles are another candy that I adore! I guess I thought the new Snickers would have tasted more like Turtles. Maybe I should get some Turtles and do a taste test for both. Or maybe I thought there would have been more pecans in the Snickers.🤔 Currently I'm on a cashew kick and I have a giant bag from Costco. I was trying to think of something I could bake using cashews. I also thought of something with chocolate chips too since I was eating some cashews with mini chocolate chips.🤤 I actually found a recipe for Cashew and Chocolate Chip Cookies! So yes, I'm going to make them!😚 I'll let you know how they turn out and if you're interested, I'll gladly pass on the recipe! Sorry I've gone so far off topic. But all the ingredients made my mind start twirling!🫨 And it brought two new ideas!☺️ Thanks for sharing another great recipe!🥰
👍🏻👍🏻❤❤i remember these. do you remember willy wonka's scrumdiddlyumptious bar? oh henry? then the mid eighties fitness craze happened and candy changed forever. the big thing going viral is Butterfinger from candy corn. my favorite is still Christophers Big Cherry. I can still get them from smart and final. Thank you Catherine and Thomas.
I need a gift box sent to me with your candy bars. I do not want those huge sampler Christmas boxes, I want yours! Thomas cracks me up! 🤣. Whatchamacallits were always my favorite!
The Whatchamacallit was actually introduced in 1978. From 1978 to 1987 it consisted of a bar of peanut-flavored crisp coated in a thin layer of chocolate. From 1987 to 2008 the peanut-flavored crisp was coated with a layer of caramel and a layer of chocolate coating. It’s still in production as of 2024🧐 That’s more information than most people care to hear🤣🤣🤣🤣 I remember when it was first introduced & I may have eaten a few. I do prefer PayDay candy bars tho🤗👀❤ BUT…your recipe looks delicious!!!
I think i have tasted that kind of candy bar before - but am allergic to chocolate so I have never had more than just a taste.... my brother used to let me have the tiniest taste of candy that had chocolate ( as long as it wasn't all chocolate when i was little). That sure does look good though!!!! Love caramel!!
Oh this looks good! Yes i do remember this candy bar! When you told us your favorite candy bar I had forgotten about this one. I had to go out and get one! Wow that was so good! 😂SHHHH 🤫I am a diabetic not supposed to eat that stuff! 😂 I am not a bad diabetic so it’s ok in moderation. Thanks for another great video! ❤❤❤❤
Catherine I never ate a whatcha ma call it candy bar and I'm 72 yrs old but believe me I am going to try your copy cat version. It looks scrumptious!! I'm like Thomas. I felt like grabbing the Large piece!!!!! Lol😂
I do chocolate chips in the microwave all the time. If you add somewhere between a few tsp and a tbsp of coconut oil and microwave 10 seconds at a time and then stir...they don't seize 🙂
Actually Ma'am, The WhatChaMaCallIt came out in the 70's. 1978 to be exact! But this still a great video, "as all your videos are." Stay safe, be happy & see ya in the next video!
I don’t know never heard of a whatchamacallit candy bar not here in Canada anyway but I just watched your video and it sounds yummy. I’m gonna try it on so it’s a little bit different than the Mars bar one that I just did my understanding from that video, the US doesn’t have mars bars.
Hey Catherine. Love your videos. I made the payday candy 2 times now and loved it. Going to make the watchamacallits next. Do you think you can make baby ruth candy candy. That is my absolute favorite since a little girl. Keep up with the wonderful videos. ❤
I remember this candy bar! 😊 I also remember the Skor bar and the Clark bar. I remember tasting gummy candy for the first time, it was gummy strawberries.... I think they were from a brand named Black Forest. Shoot...I remember a lot but I can't think right now. Does that even make sense?! 🤨🤣👋🏾💜
It would have been nice if you had refrigerated the rice/caramel layer and then cut them into large, long pieces and then dunked them into the melted chocolate and cooled them again into giant bars. Otherwise, great video! Thanks!
i remember that candy bar watcamccallit that was one of my favorite candy bars

My mommas favorite.
I love the copycat candy bar recipes. Would you please make the Butterfinger recipe using candy corn and peanut butter? Love watching your videos.
I'll see what I can do.
I’ve got a couple of them in my refrigerator right now
Actually Ma'am, The WhatChaMaCallIt came out in the 70's. 1978 to be exact! But this still a great video,

Sure, it makes sense.
Candy bars that are good sized cost nearly $3 each anymore so this would be money saving recipe too for sure
Question for you can you us "puffed marshmallow creme" in place of regular mini marshmallows?
I've never tried that but sounds interesting.
I had to stop everything to see how this is made. e.t.a My mom loves Cade's Cove.
We love Cades Cove too we saw a bear family earlier this year in Cades Cove.
Catherine do you have a recipe for waffle and chicken
No, I don't have a recipe for that yet.
@@CatherinesPlates that's OK. Found one. Thanks so much
Where did you find this recipe Catherine?
We just copied some of the ingredients on the wrapper and put them in with rice crispies.
Yummy yummy 😋🤤👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽❤️❤️👻💀🎃
Thank you 😋
