Halal means the cow or sheep is slaughtered at the slaughterhouse not electrified or something that makes the animal lose all the blood inside of it which makes it eligible for eating (Halal)
It’s important to note some things, slaughterhouse sounds a bit barbaric. When we make a meat halal, the animal ofc has to have been fed well and treated well, cup your hands with water and feed it to the animal you wish to choose, it needs to be facing the direction of the kabbah, also the animal is not allowed to see the blade that’s going to be used if the animal sees it, you cannot cut the animal, you must also recite the kalima before hand. It’s a beautiful process in my opinion.

Why is halal meat better? Firstly, the animal is slaughtered so as not to feel pain. Secondly, because of the slaughtering method, the blood is filtered from the meat tissues, which makes the meat better and less toxins and diseases. Thirdly, God created all creatures and knows with His knowledge what is the best thing for you and the animal.

Halal literally translates to "permissible" in Arabic. In Islam, it refers to things considered lawful or allowed according to their religious principles. When it comes to food, halal refers to what Muslims can consume based on Islamic dietary guidelines. These guidelines emphasize a few key things: * Animal source: Animals must be slaughtered humanely with a quick cut and a prayer recited beforehand. Pork and carnivorous animals are generally not consumed. * Ingredients: Alcohol, intoxicants, and specific animal products (like lard) are forbidden. * Preparation: Utensils and surfaces used for preparing food must be clean, and contact with anything forbidden needs to be avoided. While halal applies to many aspects of Muslim life, the focus on food is particularly interesting to non-Muslims. Many people choose halal food for reasons beyond religion, appreciating its emphasis on animal welfare and potentially stricter food safety standards.

Most NYC food carts are owned by 2-3 families or businesses, and they all use the same generic ingredients and pre-made sauces, this truck is different, independently owned and a personal family white sauce recipe made fresh daily, that’s the difference but in a city of so many people rushing around, no one has time to wait for hour, usually, so all of the lesser carts can make money, it’s kinda like MacDonalds, no one is claiming they’re great, but it’s quick, cheap and everywhere
