File Decryption Complete: Message from ADVENT High Command.
What just happened? You had XCOM surrounded, out-manned, out-gunned, and they got away. Not to mention the restriction of The Speakers platform, for which he is NOT HAPPY!
Despite your failure, we did gain some valuable information. It appears that XCOM is working closely with the Templars, and the increase in their combat effectiveness can only be put down to one thing. They successfully removed the Commander's chip. We believe Dr. Tygan may have made his way to XCOM, as they could not have removed it without expert knowledge. See if Tygan has any family left, we can use them as hostages if necessary.
Due to your failure, we are stationing you in the Western U.S as bait for XCOM. If you can defeat them, you will be reinstated to your former position. If not, then we will have no further use for your corpse.
    High Command out
(Hi guys. After reading a bunch of your great work with the soldiers journals, I figured it'd be cool to write from ADVENT's perspective. Any feedback is welcome, and I'll continue if it's enjoyed)

    Journal Entry 1#
    Will 'BillyTerror' Blazkivitz
    Gatecrasher
Another day another op, though this time I worked the legendary XCOM. They saw my history and track me down, I never was one to stay too quiet after all ADVENT saw to that.
Op was chaotic but then again when fighting with someone who makes blades with their mind while Alien bastards tried to take over our own minds things can get crazy. Damn girl carved up these ADVENT arseholes like a Thanksgiving turkey. Gunfire flew past each side but the squad came out unscathed.
Seems like XCOM knew to pick decent soldiers. perhaps their reputation precedes them then. I'll stick around, for now, see how it goes if these are truly the guys to kick the Aliens off our planet. When we got back they issued me proper weapons, a sniper rifle and a pistol. I'm no stranger to these weapons, years of fighting honed my skills on timing my shot... Simply remember this, count to four... Inhale... Count to four... Fire. You'll hit your mark.

    Entry 1
    6/1/35
    Log Book: Mr. “Huntsman” E
One down a whole bunch more to go. It was my first mission with Xcom since recovering from my wounds and while shit did hit the fan, well let's just say I’m happy Durand is on our side and not theirs. The mission started out all well and good, we took out two soldiers before even being discovered and were well on our way to a great mission there was a plan that should have carried us through, but then the sectoids joined the party. When I was working alone I always killed them first, so until now I had only heard of their psionic abilities. When Deshong panicked and hunkered down in the middle of the freakin open I thought he was done for. Fortunately, a few grenades cleared the area for long enough for him to calm down. I thought it was over until Billy went ahead and got mind washed right next to me. Now I would be lying if I said that didn’t freak me out, but I’m a soldier and so I held my ground, ready to cap him if the commander gave the order. Thankfully Durand decided that this was the moment to come out. She just ran straight for the Sectoid, ignoring the overwatch fire that blasted through the air around her and cut down the sectoid in its tracks. Billy was back on our side and after that it was just clean up.
When we got back to base I immediately got myself to work specializing as, well a specialist. One of the rookies asked me why that would be since my nickname would indicate me being more of a sniper or ranger. Well, the answer was and still is that the best way to hunt something is in a pack. During my time on the run, I needed to face overwhelming odds and the best way to even them was to take the advent robots for my own use. Plus they acted as a great extra pair of hands in case I was shot. In short you can’t form a pincer move without two units, and a good robot can replace a human for that in a pinch.
P.S. Well medical staff, you happy. I’m ‘sharing’ my feelings in a journal. So lay off and let me shoot.
(This is not my character and so if the author of this character wants to do the rp for him just reply to this post and I'll go away.)

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Firebrand. This is just meant to be a work of fiction for our beloved (more or less) Skyranger pilot.
    Firebrand's personal log - March 7th 2035 (Entry #1)
(sounds of static) "We're in the pipe, 5 by 5." (more static)
Yeah, this is me. The woman behind the proverbial wheel. I'm Firebrand. My real name? Talk to Central. If he gives you clearance, he'll tell you. My file is classified.
It feels good to get our fightback underway around here. Even though it felt bad to lose Crasher-1 and Crasher-2. At least we got the Commander back. People might not care about what I say. I'm usually on my own in the hangar, looking after the Skyranger, making sure it's in pristine order, ready to be deployed. Central is my most frequent visitor. We go way back ... I was in the original XCOM base. Just a kid back then, doing security around the place and helping around the hangar. I knew Big Sky too, good friend. I still wonder if we'll ever find him. I miss him. Vahlen too, even though she had some strange priorities. She seemed very good at her job.
I took the Ranger out a week ago, the first proper mission after the Commander's rescue. It gets lonely up in the air, thank God for the mission audio feed. It almost got quite hairy with that one panic moment. The Templar saved the day. Brave woman. I can handle a weapon and pop a few Advent here and there if needed, but she's definitely something else. We got back without a scratch.
Maintenance for a week, the Ranger seemed a bit rusty. My way to fill the time. I'm not really mingling with the recruits. Not really sure if they want me there anyway. I sneak sometimes in the bar for a quick drink, when they're not there. Just a quick one, since I need to be sober for a potential take-off. Then get back here, because you never know when the alarm would sound.
Like it just did now. Time to get the Ranger ready.
    Firebrand out.

Love this, I always enjoy fanfic about supporting characters (such as this, goblins in harry potter, the garbage men in buffy) Firebrand being a bit of an introvert, and very mission focused, fits so perfectly for why we never see them in the story. One typo at the beginning you are missing a space between fight and back but overall wonderfully written. And Firebrand, the soldiers would love to have a drink with you sometime after a mission. I mean, how else can we thank the woman who pulls our asses out of the fire so regularly?

    Log Alex "DunceCap" Fuentes
Arival at XCOM Recruitment-Xcom Reinitation, Western United States
Well, looks like I made it. Only took a few month since finding a half decent working anything is hard to come by these days, especially when part of it takes me through the god forsaken desert i called home. 107 averages are still a pain to deal with even when you are in full shade the whole way. Granted when i got to the Rockies it became much more tolerable. Nevada through to what i guess was Cali was probably the worst part. It wasn't the insane temps i was used to back at home, nothing could beat 122 in raw sun for almost 14 hours straight, rather it was the lack of water for the most part. Finding just any source of water was a pain, though the Cacti I held onto helped on days where i couldn't find any actual water. Those hours spent taking the needles out were worth it after all.
Now... geez i never was good at writing these things out, my mind always wanders. Hm... oh right the actual camp itself. I knew it was going to be lively, more so than the one I used to live in, but i was surprised at how many more survivors there were than i initially thought. Children having fun with toys that survived all the damage, people trying to build new homes or fix the issues with the old ones. I thought i even saw someone playing an old game console out on the street, with a decent group huddled around them. Guess i shouldn't be too surprised about that last one, I helped to set up something similar for the kids back south. Still it was strange to see that despite the hardships people are willing to come out here. Not many actual parents though, most of them are just barely becoming adults themselves.
The recruitment station afterward was... well it wasn't the best experience. First they wouldn't allow me to keep the Ignis and the Intervention. Said they were not strong enough to punch through advent armor, and the limited ammunition available in general meant that i would have to re-use bullets, which in the long run wasnt a good idea. I was aware about the lack of ammo, i had to re-use casing and scrounge up metal for bullets for years, but not strong enough for Advents armor? It didn't matter when you shot them in unprotected sections, namely the neck and head, but i did reluctantly hand them over on the condition that i get them back with my personal belongings once training was done. He didnt argue with that condition, they always needed people to help defend the camp, the more the merrier. Next was the physical exams. I remember doing this back when i was younger, for chess of all things but still, it was just as bad as i remember. Still im glad they swept through it quickly, though they said my Asthma might lead to some issues down the line. Considering i thought i had lost it with the lack of coughing over the years, im surprised its followed me. Guess im not outgrowing this problem anymore. Ah well, as long as i keep doing my routine i should have it under control. With that out of the way, "training" would begin.
I never actually had a military style training before, but it wasnt as bad as i expected. Maybe it was my friends training back home, maybe it was the long survival i had to go through, i dont know. Regardless those 8 weeks were less about me getting stronger and more about building teamwork and discipline. Constant field strip of the rifle, repeated runs, long days spent in hand to hand combat, all of it just to prepare me for what comes ahead. They told me that the hand to hand would be next to useless, most of the aliens and even a good portion of advent are stronger than most humans. It was all for just laying the groundwork needed to work in Xcom. Of all the parts that were presented, target practice i found most enjoyable. Having to help others get their aim down and learn to keep focused on the target was good ground work for later on, and getting a chance to show what i could do was also nice. Still they wernt kidding when they said my guns wernt strong enough, these bullets could rip through stationary cars like they were nothing. If thats the armor were having to go up against, im going to see if i can find someone to make some AP rounds for the Ignis and Intervention, im going to need some if i cant line up good shots.
Right now though we just got word that Xcom has officially re initiated, with the return of their commander. Needless to say i told them put me on that recruitment list, i wanted in. They said i would be on, but it would ultimately be up to them to decide to take me. So i guess its the waiting game for now. In the meantime I'll ask around about the comms tower they set up, see if i can get an idea of how they built it so i can replicate it back in Sonora to get a hold of other camps out there. If i ever make it back, im not sure if i can. I just hope that this will allow me to talk to my mom and Gaby again, at least let them know i made it and im fine.
And i think thats everything so far since i left. all the important parts anyway, since i dont think i missed anything. For now i guess i'll go to reading Grisaia on my old PC, its been a while since i had a decent read, and with such few pickings for old media its worth my time to get it refreshed. Keep it in memory, so i can distract myself when there is some downtime.
    Alex "DunceCap" Fuentes
Authors note: Holy shit this is harder to do than i though since i wasnt some reward or anything like that just showed up on the roster. I wasnt expecting that so i wasnt prepared for that, but hopefully this was good enough for something i had to come up with and edit on the fly. Here's hoping he grabs me for the next set of missions so i can keep writing things that are not focused on world building or this one resistance camp.

Totally love the unexpected Sips mention in the video. I've been watching him for years and love pretty well all of his videos too. Such a hilarious, random, chill sense of humour. And the one thing that made me laugh even more was how when you were typing in the mission photo text, you didn't start your sentence with a capital letter or use any punctuation, which Sips also never does, and it BUGS THE HELL OUTTA ME. xD I was JUST thinking about Sips when I saw you do that, and then you mentioned him like 5 seconds later. Kinda... odd? :P Great video Commander Odd and looking forward to another awesome playthrough!

Today, we bring down ADVENT with great force, only our 1st battle was won, 1 casualty unfortunately, ‘Terror Billy’ as we call him mind was too weak and was panicked by a sectoid, then once again a sectoid kicked our asses by controlling ‘Terror Billy’. This mission fortunately for us turned out to be successful and we destroyed the ADVENT monument but I do hope Terror Billy who went insane over that sectoid is ok. we are getting the commander back next and I really can’t wait! Log 1: Zoey “Kohlla” Durand
    --- Pre-Mission
So this is it… XCOM. Humanity’s greatest defenders, though as I can see they are merely its remains. I’m not surprised that Geist picked me to be their liaison, but I do worry that my work with this resistance cell will not be as effective as it was whilst I was under Geist’s orders. I’ve heard about this Commander Odd, and whilst the stories about him paint the picture of a great tactician, I only worry he will not use me to the best of my abilities. I suppose time will tell.
    --- Post-Mission
Our first mission with Commander Odd was a success, and not just that, but a flawless victory in every way. Not even under Geist did I find these kind of results. The aliens certainly weren’t prepared for us, and they definitely weren’t prepared for me. The Elder’s slaves could not hold us off, nor could they stand against the fury of my blades. It was certainly quite the battle though, but we pulled through, thanks in no small part to my own efforts. I drew the alien’s fire, and let my team do the work - not to say I didn’t get in the thick of it myself. There is no greater feeling than the rush of combat, feeling alien blood splatter along my weaponry and armour - and it seems this Commander knows that too. Perhaps I was wrong to judge him the way that I did, but as I said in my previous log, only time will tell.
The others… well… if this mission is any indication, then I don’t know what I can say about them. Blazkowics and Mr. E held their ground, and Deshong did for a time as well. But his panic early on has certainly put doubt into my mind. I don’t even know these people and yet I was already willing to lay down my life for them, and I could see the Commander knew that too. Two overwatches, our backs pinned against the wall and I risked it for them. I don’t know why. I don’t even know them yet.
But I do know that I would do it again.

    Do it more often. :)

Journal of an ADVENT General, time of writing seems to been a few minutes before Gatecrasher.
To think, it was 20 years ago we manged to bring peace this world. When the Elders first came to this planet, the humans thought us to be nothing more than monsters, beings that needed to be stopped by any means. But we manged to show them the error of their ways and soon enough, they began to ask for talks of peace. We could of ignored them and turn their world into nothing but glass however, we decided to show mercy, and now we are here. It hasn't been an easy road for any of us, those who still cling on to the old ways fight on, but they are weak, unorganized. They do not have much time left before they are removed like a cancer on this planet. Still, my unit has been put in charge of guarding Gene Clinic Alpha. With luck, nothing will go wrong this day. [Entry ends here]
2nd entry, time of writing is an hour after Gatecrasher.
It would seem the greatest test of ADVENT has come. Rebel forces staged a two-prong attack today, at first we thought they were going after the Speaker's platform, I sent some of my best new recruits backed by a Sectoid. Sadly, the only thing they could do was make a soldier panic and take over another soldier, not long enough to do anything before the Sectoid was killed and the platform was destroyed. But that wasn't the worse of it, some time later Gene Clinic Alpha came under attack. A small team was all that was left to defend it and while they did kill two of the rebels, the other two left with one of our most guarded secrets. Add to that that we've confirmed one of the rebels to be John "Central" Bradford and our worst fear has been brought to light: The old world terrorist faction known as X-COM has returned... And they've rescued their commander. We have begun to review the attacks seen today to learn of their tactics in the field of battle and are looking into any and all leads to where ever their base could be. By the Elders we will end them... Or die trying. [Entry ends here]

Thanks I was just missing Xcom2 and was hoping tbag you would start a new campaign. I always love the mod runs as you do a great job showing off the changes that the mods make without it feeling like you are advertising the mod

Hey Mr ODD - Not sure if you picked up the distinction in your last series but - inspirations just half research time - they are ok to skip if you rather get something else first, but Breakthroughs - They are ONE time ONLY unique upgrades - if you pass up one you will likely never get it again! And over a whole campaign some of them make a real big difference! I don't think I ever passed up a breakthrough.

My personal feeling on mission photos is that I really go whole hog on the propaganda nature of them. Slogans like "Join today!" and "Help Us Take Back Earth!" "We're In This Together!" work just fine. The standard messages they give are actually pretty handy for that.

Heya Odd, if you want Rk. Thomas 'The Judge' Richter, the soldier that got changed into the old resistance soldier armor to revert back to it's customized state, make him use the default armor. That should turn him back to his customized look. :)

Hello:) I’m your big fan - I learned English with your x-com gameplays :) now I started my own RUclips channel, and I play X-COM WOTC my self - mainly to increase my language skills - Is there any possibility to get your full character poll for your actual modded season as they look Absolutely Amazing. I think that I'm not the only one who would be extremely happy if the pool would be available to download :) Can't wait for next episode.

Liam O'Neal is from The Evil Within 2.
Anyway.. thanks for showing your list of those mods. i got some of them like the ADVENT warlock and duelist. i gonna say, those duelist are pretty dangerous. they can trigger 3 times with there pistol and sometimes your soldier can be killed. And those flame vipers are also pretty dangerous. they are really difficult to defeat. they have more health then a normal viper. anyway, thanks you for showing your mod list and i really love your video's and i like your voice. kinda relaxing.
