I have owned both a Corsica and a Century. They are not the same, sorry, they aint. I had an 89 Century Wagon with the 3.3 When I bouth it, it had about 60ish thousand miles on it and when I sold it, it had over 280,000 miles on it and I never did any major work to the engine or transmission. The biggest thing I did to the engine was a water pump. Most reliable car I have ever owned. Love the videos Randy, thanks for doing what you do man.
Tap that. Shaft.. Bust nut... Yeah, talking about a Chevy Cobalt alright 🤙🏾 Also ,maybe a tripod in the future for this channel(you might have one already) so you can do more time lapse showing repairs.
LeaderOfWagons I sure hope someone can save that Century, it is way too nice to be in a salvage yard and what a color, too. She deserves to be back on the road.
Why? I have a Cobalt SS Supercharger (Just bought it) and would never consider a Cavalier. Nostalgia it is not, just a bad car that rust easy, not a problem in Commie California, right Comrades?
You should definitely do bloopers you and lucky are funny dudes. NE videos that you have that's long and drawn-out some of us like watching them cuz it was very educational
And Randy you don't need to explain to us for the way you did things. There are always haters. Cannot please everyone so just roll with the ones who appreciate you.
Great video Randy! Looks like another win from IAA. Good to see Lucky and his wife. Gas is $1.82 here in Maryland! All the pick a parts here have been bought up by LKQ! Keep up the great work man!
I had a Corsica just like that. V6 in the same red color. Except mine had red interior. She was a cheap used car for $375, but ran well and made so many cross state trips with no issues.
Kind of a PITA in some ways to do it... but I used to deal with struts/springs in this manner- put the car up on stand(s), and support/raise the LCA with a jack. Then bust the nut on the strut shaft, remove the upper strut mount fasteners, then slowly lower the LCA. Installation is reverse of removal. The PITA part can be getting the strut bearing in the right spot when re-assembling. And those look like aeroforce interceptor gauges in the a pillar- I had an earlier single gauge in my GTP. All they should need is an OBDII connection and a switched power wire.
It helps if you remove the ball joint bolt! The ball joint has a indent in which the ball joint bolt slides threw! The ball joint would have separated if, You would have removed the ball joint bolt 1st... You got lucky with the rear control arm bolt NOT BEING SEIZED! THAT IS ALWAYS FUN! Spent 3 days with a saw-zall & about 30-50 blades!!!! Finished up with 1 hour to be at work!!! Every time that I end up in one of these tough, automotive jobs, I swear to myself that I am purchasing a oxyacetylene torch! Just need more hours at work to be able to afford one!!!
😃 Oh the Corsica that brings back memories... My mother a rare 89 hatchback model. I loved that hatchback, it had so much extra room. She was planning on getting another car, and so was looking around at dealerships, I had the perfect car picked out for her... My school had just leased, for a driver's ed car!!! 😮 A supercharged 1996 Impala SS in a beautiful rose color with cream interior, she absolutely would have loved it, and it would have still held its value today. All she had to do was just wait until the end of the year for the schools lease to be over, and the dealership then would have given her a heck of a deal on the car then. I could have had the Corsica then for my first car. 😧 Instead she went to another dealership in the meantime looking around, and they told her the Corsica had a blown head gasket "I call BS" and they convinced her into buying a run-of-the-mill 96 Pontiac Grand Am, and giving her a next to nothing on a trade in on the Corsica... 😭 why Mom??? RIP
DB MD times they have changed and 4-cylinders are definitely not what they used to be. Back in 1993, I owned a 1988 Mustang LX 5.0. It was rated a 225 hp. It was amazingly quick and cars were lighter back then. I now own a Lincoln MKZ with a 2.0L turbo 4. I believe it has in the neighborhood of 275 or 280 hp. 4 cylinders today make as much power as Ferraris did back in the 80s. We are really in a great time for performance when it comes to cars.
Thanks for the video, salvaged cars is nostalgic at best. Got an 08 Cobalt coupe and this video gave me some ideas and help on what i need to do with mine👍👍👍👍
Another great car bought at a decent price and repaired economically. Must be a good car because Lucky is moving in for the purchase and if it wasn't a great car he wouldn't bother.
I picked up whole passenger suspension a while back from detroit axle on ebay , its been real good. Strut assembly plus , tie rods, stabalizer, control arm $180. They have good reviews.
I’ve got a big history with the old Corsica’s. My dad used to own one. He ran the hell out of that sucker until I believe around 08-09. I’m pretty sure it had over 200,000 miles on it. I can’t remember the year on it, but let’s just say it had that 90’s interior.
Love when you focus on a job like this. You DO have a lot of knowledge and talent. Nice surprise seeing LUCKY in the house also. HEY, you 'should' be able to sell to Lucky as you both are Dealers so it would be Wholesale Dealer TO Dealer - NO Retail involved. Who knows! Anyway, good content from all, thank you and stay safe! Sonny (CT)
I remember my mom trading in a 47 Plymouth on a new 55 Chevy it was traded on a 63 Chevy 2 that I got (this is my car era), and Mom bought a new 70 GTO. so I parked my 55 Studebaker that no one would run against and pulled the 194ci 6 out of the little 63 Chevy and dropped in a warmed over 292 GMC 6, with the correct paint and air cleaner no one noticed the Holley 4 barrel carb, after market manifold and taller engine but lots went home counting their spark plugs. The 38 Chev I bought in 1965 was fun to drive but nothing was more satisfying than blowing the doors off the Camaros and Mustangs with a 6 cylinder 4 door family car... In the 60s I would buy 3 cars a week or more, swap all the good parts into the best body and sell it, people with good jobs made about 8k a year I was making 10 to 15k while in High school Then the local Government noticed me and put me out of business, no mechanics licence, can't work on cars no dealers licence, can't sell cars. Wrote the test got my mechanics licence, Registered a small business and got a dealers licence then they ruled and regulated me completely out of business. Six months earlier I had a run in with the mayors son and had to take him to court to get paid for the car he bought then all this shit happened. Power corrupts. Finished school, got my Civil engineering degree, Went to visit the mayor and his son in jail for embezzling money from the city, laughed at them then continued on with my life. Some where in all that mess I spent 5 years in the military now I'm stuck being called LT for the rest of my life and life looks a lot different after 70, never thought I would make it past 50, raced and crashed anything fast, cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles was shot at by people I don't know, killed a few. Life has its ups and downs for the most part it has been good. Now I'm trapped in my own home because there is a 0.003% chance of me dying from this stupid Chinese virus, according to the latest statistics from the only people I believe >DOCTORS< I have had worst odds than that my whole life. Just more BS so the rich can buy control at fire sale prices. Like I said Power corrupts. Sorry about the rant it's 5 am here and I can't sleep. I subscribed because I like what you do, makes me feel young again and that's good when you have only a few years remaining Thanks
It's great to see you down at pull a part. Id like to see more walk arounds in parts yards. I'm like a kid in a candy store. If I go for a part, I'm there half a day. I love to make good second hand parts do another round. It's so satisfying
Great video, I had a 96 Buick Century that looked exactly like the one in that junkyard my senior year of high school through early college days (04-06).Loved that car. Really love that Cobalt and glad you got it on the road. Hope you do some more with it.
Buy the pick-a-part! See if they'll do owner financing (Even if they don't interests rates are super low). Then you can do your walk-arounds there haha
If you look on the back side of the ecu considering the previous owner used zzp if they tuned it, there will be a brief description of what could be on it
Good thing you brought Lucky with you, Never want to test pilot a car like that with the issues it has all by yourself. It seems nice though. I never did try one of these when I lived in the US. I would not mind it though. I know Cobalts are not the most liked cars compared to camaros and mustangs but they are not too bad from what i could see when i was a rental car agent.
Probably the best thing to use to get the rest of that half shaft out of the trans would be a slide hammer with the adaptor to remove a stuck half shaft. If you look on ebay at slide hammers, They have a umpteen piece kit that includes a piece that wedges in behind a axle shaft.
Well done on getting the car running for the viewers man. Rebuilding the CV shaft not that bad, clip at end which fits into the box is important indeed. Shout out to lucky.. as well ✌
I would really love to see you find an Ion Redline to repair and park next to the new Cobalt SS. I freakin’ love the Cobalt SS and black has to be the best color for them. What a score this one was.
Pullapart on SE.15th in OKC has their land for sale for 14m. They are not shutting down, they are waiting to sell their land and they have already purchased a new location further east on s.e. 15th. but they aren't moving until they sell their old land.
Jessica is soooo lovable. I so wish she was more comfortable being on camera, she is a real sweetheart. Her little giggles in this video were soooo adorable.
My first vehicle was a 96 beretta with the 3100. Sadly the motor went and the passenger side door is done due to being tboned but thats all the issues it has. If you want it you can have it here in arizona. I have a replacement door for it

There is a one way ball and spring valve somewhere in the oil supply system that if absent or not functioning can cause low pressure at idle in the mazda 6 engine.
Just started watching you. The house your storing vehicles at seems to be a run down home. Are you planing on rehabbing it or is it just a storage area?
Randy I just checked on www.rockauto.com and found the strut mount, CV axle really cheap! The mount for $30 & the CV axle for $65! I've been buying my parts from there for years and never a problem and WAY CHEAPER than a parts store or dealer! Please look you won't regret it!
Randy!!, check the oil sensor plugging, sometimes they tend to corroded or disconnected.Could be the oil sensor or your knock sensor??,and wish you got the tittle!!!. I give you 800 for the mazda!,or 1300 if you got new tires. But that colbalt is gona be your money maker, least 6K!
That will definitely look nice once it’s fully back together and cleaned up. Definitely get an alignment ASAP because after replacing those components, everything is way out of wack, and will eat the front tires up if driven much. That red Century is a Big Al special!!
Ultimate sleeper: Swap that Cobalt SS powertrain into the Cavalier!!
This........ 100%. Ive always wanted an srt4 omni...... lol

I have a 1996 Century I basically daily, got it for $400, put $300 worth of work into it, 135k miles runs like a top!
Great video Randy! Looks like another win from IAA. Good to see Lucky and his wife. Gas is $1.82 here in Maryland! All the pick a parts here have been bought up by LKQ! Keep up the great work man!
Happy to see the car running was special to see it move and keep up the work and happy to see lucky there too
Dude, I had that same exact car for almost three years. Modded it and tuned it and had it running 13 second quarter miles!
I had a Corsica just like that. V6 in the same red color. Except mine had red interior. She was a cheap used car for $375, but ran well and made so many cross state trips with no issues.
Thumbs up for cow moos and car repair - Lol
A good diversion from the current state of things. That is greatly appreciated!
YES! Randy's bloopers reel. Gotta do that!
Randy, I had a 1994 Beretta with the 3100 V6. I can relate. Those vehicles are part of my generation too.

I always heard the Cobalt SS decently quick but I never really believed it. This thing looks to be quick for a 4 cylinder

I’m glad to see lucky back man you guys would make a great crew
So glad you actually fixed something yourself....keep showing those kinds of videos.
Good one! Thanks for doing all the work for us! Take care and God bless you all!
Yes Randy we want to see the video of you throwing a fit lol 🤣🤣
Check out his older videos and to you'll see him.
Cool to see people getting along on here.

Great video, I had a 96 Buick Century that looked exactly like the one in that junkyard my senior year of high school through early college days (04-06).Loved that car. Really love that Cobalt and glad you got it on the road. Hope you do some more with it.
Next time try a quick strut. That's all I use now. Comes fully assembled with new spring, bearings etc. A little more money but a lot less work.
Buy the pick-a-part! See if they'll do owner financing (Even if they don't interests rates are super low). Then you can do your walk-arounds there haha

good video Randy! Good that you including Lucky!
My wife's Sonic has a bunch of parts from ZZperformace. Great company with awesome customer support.
Awesome video Randy. Have a great day and stay safe. Love the sound of that Cobalt.
i love the Randy and Lucky collabs. Keep up the great content Randy. I don't care what anybody says you git her done!
Well done on getting the car running for the viewers man. Rebuilding the CV shaft not that bad, clip at end which fits into the box is important indeed. Shout out to lucky.. as well ✌
Gas is still 2.64 a gallon here in Canada , the slowbalt is looking great , the Mazda well it is a Ford after all haha , another great video,
6.5 a gallon here in Albania
That Cobalt SS is nice, the Supercharger sounds great.
Wish we got these in the UK.
Owned 3 Corsicas. They were great cars. Comfortable and if you had the V6 it was fast.....for it's time.
That's doing it Australia style. That's what my Aussie mechanic told me out in BC. Getting it done until you can get it done.
Thanks for sticking with the plan, I got to ride along in a blown ss cobalt for my birthday! Good video
Nice to see some love for the Cobalt SS. This was a good learning experience. I got some work to do myself on the wheels.
I always hit the thumbs up button right before I start the video
I would really love to see you find an Ion Redline to repair and park next to the new Cobalt SS. I freakin’ love the Cobalt SS and black has to be the best color for them. What a score this one was.
Actually I find Sunburst Orange was the best color
Great video auto auction rebuilds 👍🏻. That’s the ticket
Most definitely shade tree Enjoyed it immensely.
Hi Randy. Cobalt is a steal for the money. Lucky seems like a nice guy. Keeping it fun! It sure looks nice at AARHQ. Listening to the cows moo!
I got a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix with 91000 miles it's a good car it was a one owner car when I got it
You gotta LOVE that supercharger whine!
Great episode omg it was worth the wait 💯👍
Hey put thicker oil in it just does not have enough oil pressure at idle to keep light off
Pullapart on SE.15th in OKC has their land for sale for 14m. They are not shutting down, they are waiting to sell their land and they have already purchased a new location further east on s.e. 15th. but they aren't moving until they sell their old land.
This car makes me smile
Bloopers would be friggin awesome 😎
$.99 f'n cents jeezus here in CA I'm here paying $3 a gallon.
In the bay area, we're over $3.50 a gallon just for 87 octane
$6.30 for a gallon here in western europe (1.58 euro/litre) for 95 octane e10. The lowest octane we have here.
I hear there is places in the south here like Tennesse, Kentucky, and Virginia where gas has been in the .59-.63 cents a gallon!
Here is pa it is still 2.19 to 2.60
Erik Gonzalez Here in Michigan gas is 1.19 a gallon
Much appreciation and respect for what you are doing man 👍🏼 thanks for supplying great content and keep it coming .
Jessica is soooo lovable. I so wish she was more comfortable being on camera, she is a real sweetheart. Her little giggles in this video were soooo adorable.
Good job, lots of fun with the supercharger whaling.
Randy, I moved out of Oklahoma in December 1997. I remember filling up my 1/2 ton Chevy on I240 and Sooner Road and gas prices were .99 for 87 octane.
Great video Randy! Would definitely want to see the “blooper” reel lol.
That intro had me thinking I ventured to the weird side of the internet again 🤪😂😂
I'm following lucky & weird & TK all from your channel 😉
Man those Cobalt SS are a riot.
What’s up Randy you are really a true inspiration to us Car guys keep up the great work and stay safe out there
My first vehicle was a 96 beretta with the 3100. Sadly the motor went and the passenger side door is done due to being tboned but thats all the issues it has. If you want it you can have it here in arizona. I have a replacement door for it
This was worth the wait
Keep it real don't edit out the good stuff! That car sounds cool never heard of it with the blower and stuff, but I think it has a lot of mods also? Luck's wife looks so friendly he truly is Lucky:-)
I have been subscribed to lucky for some time now 🎉
Both you guys work hard
revs up fast like its fitted with lightened flywheel.
My gran ma when she was alive ❤️ use to have one of those buick century's only hers was grey back in the day it got stolen while she was at work at Publix Brandon FL on hwy 60. Rite from the parking lot in front of the store
There is a one way ball and spring valve somewhere in the oil supply system that if absent or not functioning can cause low pressure at idle in the mazda 6 engine.
Last time I filled up last week, I paid $1.47/gallon. Great intro!!
Check the rear transmission mount on the cobalt might be cracked from the damage they are pretty easy to break
Wow that car is sweet😍😁 , thanks for the longer video!!
What's more fun than aar, aar with friends 😂 love lucky and the gang.
I can watch Randy's video all day long just love em content
Those cobalt ss are nice cars used to have on my buddy had a supercharged one and it was very fast
We need more content from you!!
I like how u and lucky do videos .good team good stuff
That's an awesome care. I enjoy your video's and all of the hard work you put in to making the content. Stay safe.
Considering that it's usually 20 year olds that buy these, this cobalt ss is probably the cleanest safest one in OK.
That will definitely look nice once it’s fully back together and cleaned up. Definitely get an alignment ASAP because after replacing those components, everything is way out of wack, and will eat the front tires up if driven much. You should check the junkyard you were at and other ones by you that carry more older model cars. Might be able to find something for the cavalier in one of those?
Randy, Randy, Randy! You turned that car into a death trap.
Awesome
I really hope you keep this one, for a bit. It looks like you made a great purchase.
