- Metal detecting with the Bounty Hunter Lone Star on a cold evening in Northern Michigan. This was a quick hunt with a few finds at a 100 + year old homestead. Metal Detecting 4 Fun: I will be making new videos using my Garrett Ace 300 soon! This is my new metal detecting channel with the videos starting from the beginning since I'm somewhat new to this. I did some metal detecting since the 1980's using a cheap metal detector, but nothing too serious. I thought that this would make a good series starting as a beginner and see how well I progress in time. Hopefully this channel helps some beginners and I learn some good tips from the experts or maybe they will get some good laughs. lol
Go back where you found the jar lid it might have cash money in the glass jar that someone put there for a rainy day. You never know if the glass piece was down there.
Invest in a longer handled garden spade (with a small blade.) So much easier and no more difficult to carry.
I loved my ACE 300. I bought a 13in coil for it and it turned into a coin magnet (mostly clad). I still have it and now it is my back up detector. Nice video. Can't wait to see your next one.
I had my Ace 300 out this evening, but I didn't film a video. I dug up a 1925 wheat and a few junk finds. I'm waiting for some nicer weather for filming. On my Ace 300 it gets false beeps when I hit a branch or something on the ground. If I shake it a little above ground it beeps a lot. I will contact Garrett about this.
Mine would false too when I hit a branch. Garrett has a very good customer service department. I know they will get you taken care of.
I am liking your shovel !
Thanks! The shovel works great

Good Luck Hunting!

Thanks! My wife will be using the Bounty Hunter and I wanted to give it a good test. My next video will be using the Garrett Ace 300. I have used it a few times this spring and it's a good detector.
@@metaldetecting4fun214 I found a Walking Liberty half dollar a few days ago with my Bounty Hunter 202.
Hi. I have the Lone Star I just found in the shed. At 3:32 what's that little detector you have in your right hand? Thanks
That's a GP Pinpointer and it only costs about $25. It works ok, but the Garrett pinpointers are much better. They are also expensive.
@@metaldetecting4fun214 Thanks vey much. My Grandkids are so excited to go hunting when our lock-down is over.
I found a small fortune in coins and gold rings with a Bounty Hunter Discovery 3 back in the 1990s on a lake. The Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 is selling cheap at the moment at Walmart. It has good depth, target ID and a depth meter and other nice features. You can get one for around 100 bucks and it has a 5 year warranty. They last for many many years. One guy I know has used one heavily for 20 years! I think they`ve stopped making them so get one while you can. It`s a great machine for the price...
How small was the fortune you found?
@@brushbros A few thousand dollars.
How are you liking the bounty Hunter so far?
It works good for a cheaper detector. I use my new Garrett Ace 300 most of the time.
You still detecting?
I have been detecting when I get a chance. I should go out and make another video. It's not easy detecting and filming it. I also have a backpacking channel that keeps me busy.
