Out of the 16 year, 8 year and Distillers Ed, the Distillers is hands down my favorite. Love the videos, gentlemen!
@@Pansilinos sweeter and lighter peat would be the most prominent differences IMO
I've only had the 16 year, but hands down Lagavulin remains my favorite after decades, a little bit goes such a long ways in terms of flavor.
You should try distillers. You will love it.
Sitting here with a regular Lagavulin 16 year. Had to order the distillers edition after watching this.
My second Whiskey ever, already in love with Lagavulins peat.
Currently it is $129 in US.
5:07: Best sound in the world
I haven't tried this bottle yet, but I still gave you a "thumbs up".
This one is 170€ today, where I live. Unbelievable price, this is by far one of my very favourite pleasure drams, but I wouldn't go 170€ for it today.
Really? It's €90 here in Norway where we have a state-owned monopoly on alcohol with outrageous taxes.
Is that just due to the fact that there isn't much stock, or?
@@thomasandersr Exactly, Lagavulin 16 yo is now 220€, it's bizarrely expensive. Other prices are luckily much better, although due to inflation, everything went up for about 10-20%.
This stuff is to die for !!! Hate that it’s so freakin expensive
Not a single dislike. That's enough for me to try lagavulin
I saw you man, you poured more in your glass.
Yes he did! :-O
he does it every time! haha. i love it.
Lmao his son barely got any !!!
Never had any Distillers Edition that was less than superb.
Just picked mine up today. Having a tasting/smoking session along with the 16 later this week with a good friend. :)
Hello my friends. One of the best whiskys i ever had. Lagavulin Distillers Edition is a sensational whisky.
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
@Angel Ian Instablaster :)
@Noe Ulises i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Noe Ulises it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out!
@Angel Ian Glad I could help :)
Need to try this. Nice video, guys.
One of my favourites
Finished in ex-PX casks! Can only be good 😋! Thanks for a great review gents! Cheers from South Africa 😊🥃!!
I am definitely buying one of these the sec I see it in my area.
I love this whiskey definitely one of my favorite!
Superb dram!! So much more balanced compared to the 16, 12 and 8. Si complex
Love lagavulin and also one of my favorites. What are some of your other favorites?
Can someone please tell me why scotch lovers love the smokiness? Me personally I hate smoke, especially around a campfire. I have tried this scotch, absolutely hated the smoke.
I love the standard 16 year old and I like that it is completely different to my other usual whiskys (highland/speyside mostly) so I was not sure whether I want a 'bridge' Lagavulin, but your review shows me I at least want to try it now!
Did you try it?
Thank you Horst and Ben. Does it make sense for you to rate whiskies you taste?
I received this as a gift, having been a great enjoyer of Lagavulin for many years, I was surprised by the finish of this dram. Quite a deviation from the standard but I enjoyed it as I normally enjoy Lagavulin 16. Neat, with ice. Highly recommend you add this one to your toy box.
what the fuck, with ice? maybe you should drink vodka not malts
@@sdhiousdfyhsdioufsdoiufh doubt you could even afford malts.
Totally agree with your point about the finish.
it's funny they say sip when referring to smelling/sniffing. It confuses me a lot.
Ben spot on in this one
How's your own cask in your home?
Damn I want a dram....
Just sharing about the price, I got the 1L 2019 Ed bought from Changi Airport on Apr 2022 for S$198.90 after 10% off but original price is S$ 221
I think I might retire to Islay and have Lagavulin as neighbors.
I have 2 new bottles of this! So if any of you are jealous of me, please leave comments telling me just how much :D
170€ today a bottle, that much 😂😂😂😂
👍🥃
Please do a Matsui Kurayoshi 18y and 12y review
I couldn't find anything on Google about the Matsui Distillery.
how many years do they finish it in sherry cask?
At least 8 years
