    I was quite surprised at how good the 8 year old was, after having the 16 first. And at half the price it is a great bargain and full of flavor.

    I just got 8 and cracked the bottle and had a taste right away. It was terrible. Let it sit for 10 minutes and it and changed to lovely! Had that with a few of the bottle just opened. Ardbeg also.
    I believe they should be opened for a bit and recapped before trying a serious taste test. Just my opinion, there's something about a fresh bottle opening that's just not right until they have received air for a bit.

    I was scared away from ‘peateds' for a long while. I had tried a bottle of Laphroaig as a first dram and did not buy another bottle of peated for years! Then, I tried a Jura, a Springbank, a Talisker, a Caol Ila, and an Ardbeg. Today, I am ready to try the Lagavulin 8! In Virginia, in June 2024, a bottle of Lagavulin 8 costs $67.

      And did you like the Lagavulin 8? Not as complex as the 16 year old, but still really nice.

      @@Whiskycom I created a progression of the whiskeys, and I am working my way to Lagavulin 8. I am very interested in learning more about the different aromas and tastes.
      I’ll let you know once I try the Lagavulin 8. The L16 is far out of my price range!

    Can someone explain to me why Lagavulin has almost doubled in price in the past 2 years?

    • @HostileButHonourable
      @HostileButHonourable 10 месяцев назад +1

      A corporate decision by Diageo to cash in BIG on the popularity of Lagavulin combined with the increased demand for all whisky worldwide. Its being spread thin all over the world creating a 'scarcity'. And scarcity = FOMO = Profiteering.

    why do you mute the mouth noises when the liquid is in the mouth? Is it for those few annoying people who think it's annoying? A good rule of thumb is to understand that the more natural, the better. I love all those mouth noises and im happy your older videos were more natural.

    So it pairs well with haggis then?😁 I see this all the time when I’m in the liquor store, but just never bought a bottle to try, because 8 years just seems so young for a scotch, let alone a peated one. I’ll give it a shot.

    This one disappointed me. It's far too disillate forward for my whisky taste. It's hot. So much so that it hid its peat flavour.

    You need to fire whoever runs this channel, get a new guy, maybe a young guy that knows current RUclips and make him edit and focus on shorts as well. It is amazing how your channel is doing so poorly even tho it's one of the first whiskey ones and you have access to more whiskey than most people I would say.
