this is hands down one of the perfect whiskies i'v ever had. Everything is full, everything is quality, nothing is annoying or lacking or leaving something to be desired. Excellent rounded whisky.. you cant go wrong

I'm pretty poor but I decided to treat my self. It was worth it.

mine is a 2006/2016 and it's just as he described, spicy, dark chocolate, fruity, smoky, the arrival on my tongue is really smooth, there a hint of fishy salt. wow..

fantastic review! I just recently purchased the 2005/2015 bottle and I also found it to be very smokey but full of plum and raisin notes. Thank you for the great review Mr. Luening.

i think is more complex than Lagavulin 16, but Lagavulin has more sweetness after but not that intense aromas as Talisker distillers edition. I like both though very much

Just picked up the 2003/14 Edition and absolutely love it. The bite of Talisker with an intriguing sweetness that's enjoyably smooth. Well worth my $65

This is my third of the famed "Horst's dozen favourites" and it did not disappoint. I'm not sure I have enough in the bank to be trying many of the rest ($95AUD for this on sale), but I'll try my best.
    2017 edition.

the DE is my favourite too, currently on an 2002-13. have tried all the talisker range except dark storm, niest point and port rouighe (and the age statements bottles beyond 18)

Interesting review. Im surprised by how much you praise this whisky that is a little too young and metallic to my taste. Still an interesting scotch for sure

Cannot agree more with Horst's review. Any Talisker is decadent enough, but the sherry maturation is really too much. Superlative.

I must have a bad bottle because it tastes worse than methylated spirits it is awful, I bought it for my son as a present he said he couldn't drink it I didn't believe him till I tried it he was right.??

    Hello Horst.
I find it a bit difficult to decide which whisky to buy, Talisker DE or Lagavulin DE.
Which one of those is prefered by you?

They both have indirect age statements with a distilling and bottling date.

the lagavulin DE is very refined and subtle. The Talisker DE is in your face aggressive. Buy both!

where I live in canada the talisker DE is $50 cheaper than the lagavulin DE, unless price doesnt matter to you I'd say the talisker is the better buy

Hello could you tell me which whiskies are among your favourites? I know about this one , the glenfarclas 25 and the glendronach 18 allardice but what about the others?

Is it smooth? Does it burn?

    • @puressenceuk35
      @puressenceuk35 4 года назад

It's more spicy than burny. Intense chilli and pepper kick.
