- Use these short cuts to help you learn the 8 phases of the moon
The 8 phases are,
New Moon
Waxing Crescent
1st Quarter
Waxing Gibbous
Full Moon
Waning Gibbous
Last Quarter
Waning Crescent
It takes the moon 29.5 days to go through these 8 phases.
I provide pictures to help you learn the moon phases.

Thank God for helping me find this! I am trying to learn all the phases of the moon before my science test which is in three days!!!
The moon phases can be tricky Thanks for the kind words.
Me two
same 😭
My test is TOMORROW
@@redatwondemu1853 astronomy midterm in 70 minutes…
Thx it helped me for my project from school. Is anyone watching this because of online school?
yep
yes
I hope this video will help you more in understanding the moon phases. ruclips.net/video/m4kdPEk41RM/видео.html
Yep
in uk we don't play baseball so i have no clue on what you guys are taking
😥😄
Do you play softball? Because it’s basically the same as that

I don't even know a thing about sports in the first place
I’m watching this in my homeroom rn and I have the test in a few minutes I’ll update what I get
whatd u get
Question: Why is it in your diagram with all phases shown that the crescent waxing moon has dark on left contributed to sun’s light being on the left, but the other crescent moon (waning crescent) mostly dark in opposition to sun’s light, or in short: bright on same side as sun?? I dont get it. :((
Would love an answer for this from any scientist or educator. It makes absolutely NO sense in any reality. I remember questioning my 7th grade science teacher about this, she looked at the diagram again very closely, then drew it on the board, then grabbed the globe and thought real hard. After a few moments she said she could not answer. I've been wondering about this ever since. 🤷♂
Thx moomoomath
VERY Helpful
I have a question
Hope you answer my question
Whats the name of the music track in this video ?
Sad
Does this 'Light on right getting bright' apply in both hemispheres of the Earth?
Or it may happen that a person in another hemisphere might experience 'Light on left getting bright'?
Thank so much it really helped me
Anyone else hear because of remote learning?
Thx I turned it into a rap now I remember it fully
Tysm it rlly helped with my homework❤😊
That was a good video
Happy
Reviewing this again for my EE (WVSU) tapos na ko sa ISAT hahaha ambot kung kapasar ko.

I got a A on my test thanks to you guys for explaining thanks so much
A more in depth video for those interested ruclips.net/video/qRsAd3yvR3o/видео.html
Bro I'm doing this 1 day before
Thank you I’m learning about moons and I’m getting low grades
How can you see the full moon earth is blocking the reflected light?
don't make sense
The animation/graphics are rather simple, and don't show or explain the fact that the moon's orbit around the earth is inclined at a 5 degree angle, so it is a relatively rare occurrence for the moon to be directly behind the earth and in its shadow.
Usually, the moon will pass either above or below the earth's shadow, so that the entire moon is being illuminated by the sun without the sun's light being blocked by the earth.
This is also why a solar eclipse doesn't happen very often either.
Would be better if showed light and reflections
I have a test of phase of the moon or nouns so I’m doing both rn and I’m sleepy
Thank you so much because right now for me it is 9:00om and it is still hard and now I get it cuz I have a test in the morning tomorrow!
These auto-generated captions were absolute perfection for my 8th graders. Thank you.
YOU’RE absolute perfection for MY 8th graders. HAHA
If the Sun is on the left like this shows, how is the moon lit on the right side? your images make no sense!
The images show what the Moon looks like as seen from Earth when being in that position of its orbit, but the video doesn't really explain *_why_* the Moon looks like it does.
This explanation using a simple, physical model is far better:

Ty 🙏
Thanks a lot for uploading this!
That’s awesome

Ne drew the waxing moons wrong. The dark was towards the sun.
Exactly I thought the same
Thank you so much!!!
This video was great!! Tysm
Thank you this was very helpful
This makes no sense, the sun is shining on the left but the moon is lit on the opposite side? better look at the different videos this is bullshit
Lmao
The sayings are only true in the northern hemisphere. At the equator, the light points east or west. In the south, it appears on the opposite sides.
This does not make sense, how can Earth caste a crescent shadow? Please explain
Genesis 1:16
WHY IS THIS VIDEO IN DUTCH AND ENGLISH IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Moo
Hey
IT IS NOT 3RD QUARTER ITS LAST QUARTER
It’s the same thing stupid
Like r u dumb
FamilyBand CNMT hi mason 😂
no, it 3rd it's weird and not normal to say last quarter that's why we say 3rd quarter cause its normal
Both are names for that phase, so neither are incorrect
So that is like a Bird's eye view of the different moon phases?
This is a Birds eye too for the moon phases, hope it will be useful for understanding the topic. ruclips.net/video/m4kdPEk41RM/видео.html
