My 2012 RX350 has a dead battery, it’s Jan, 2024 this is the OEM battery. I didn’t remember changing it now I know why. You did a good job I hope this old guy has the grunt to get it out. Thanks
Just got back from Lexus store with my new lower price than “Advance “ by almost $50.00 . Something about the big Lexus sticker on top and front. The first lasted 12 years and my other Lexus’s battery (GS450H) lasted 7 years. Quality is quality and I always tell them I have 2 Lexus from The Lexus Store, Lexington, Ky.
Thank you for sharing. I'm surprised there was no need for an OBDii battery memory saver to be connected prior to battery replacement. Did you have any issues after?
When my battery was down, I wanted to buy one from Autozone and they refused to install it claiming it needed “registration”. I bought one from Costco and did it myself. I had charger connected to the terminals, so didn’t lose any programming. Everything worked fine after that. But I am still curious what registration were they talking about?
This Lexus doesn't have it but some BMWs for example. They require you to go to a dealership for them to reset the battery counter on the ECU. I read once about it and there was a reason. Not a very convincing reason but there was one. I can't remember what it was though.
Ho, it's hard to find the issue like this but check the connection to be sure they are connected and free of corrosion and also if the new battery is not already dead
Hey Cuz, haven't touched it since the virus started. Gotta go register it so I can drive on the street to finish turning it. I need to go fast and the neighborhood is not enough
@@CarModsGarage lol i hear you, hope everything is good with you and family. But my question is i was messing around with my car to upgrade fuel injectors on the lap top on the aem fic6 now my idle is low like it wants to die any help, could you gave me your number you have on your car for tuning if it makes any sense lol
@@CarModsGarage I ended up springing for an AGM battery (the "recommended" one) at Advance Auto Parts and they installed it for me. I feel like I took the easy way out
Replacing the battery won't bring the check engine one. The right thing to do it to plug on OBDII reader and see which codes are coming back. I would take the car to AutoZone or Orelly's and ask them to run the scan on your car.
What year is your RX 350? I bought my Lexus RX350 in 2010, have not replaced the battery. If the battery is replaced, is there a need to do a reset on any of the power doors (side and back) ?
Mine is 2010. Not really need to reset anything. Mine was exactly as I show on the video. It will update the computer automatically when you start the car first time after replacing the battery.
Wow my 2014 es350 takes about 30 seconds to remove the battery. I didnt realize the rx was such a pain n the ass just to replace the battery lol. Through all that plastic shit away, lol
Did you replace your car Battery for the first time on the 2014? I am not sure if the previous owner changed the battery on my car. It’s a 2014 is350 and today it didn’t start because I believe the battery died. I’ll try boosting it tomorrow but may need to replace the whole battery
PS To all my door not closed and key 🔑 in auto when driving, was going to get it checked but it didn’t start in garage. Will report if electronics change. My Lexus Store was $50.00 cheaper than AutoZone.
Buy replacement plastic pins from dealer others don’t last. I have some 3 years old Amazon already broken. Factory holding at 11 years, lowest price not always best.

Outstanding video with great detailed step-by-step guide. Just finished changing the battery for my 2006 Lexus RX400H in 20min. Thanks a lot!
I'm glad it helped you 👍

Thanks. This worked perfectly. You saved me a tow and $300 from a garage repair.
I'm glad it helped
@CarModsGarage Did you upgrade your 2010 to Apple/Android car play?
@@r.j.macready5620 no I did not. It was all OEM.
@@CarModsGarage Thanks. Forgot to say I liked and subscribed.
@@r.j.macready5620 thank you RJ. I appreciate the support. I'm glad I could help you save some dough 🤙
Thanks for the big help, my husband and I wedding have any idea how to begin but you gave us sample explanations. Thanks a million.

Thanks for the great information. Makes it less intimidating to see it done.
You can do it Andy! :)
Great video! Saved me $75 in labor at the shop

Do you need to reprogram computer after replacing battery?
@@johnnyreyes5058 I did not. I started the car, turned off and restarted one more time. Computer was good
Does there anything needed to be reloaded such as the time or radio system?
Nothing I needed to do manually.
@@CarModsGarage Thanks
Life saver! thank you!

Where's the eclipse. Aem fic6 tuning have you done it yet?

How did you reset the battery indicator light? Mine is still on after I changed the battery
Oh I don't remember if mine was even on. Take the car to O'Reilly or AutoZone and ask them to scan the car but clean the codes first.
Thank you! I have the 400h but I think I'll be able to do it
Just look at the battery type then the side which + and - are and you should be good

what happens when you lose the memory?
The only memory you might lose is the two stations.
You might have to re-set your time and radio stations.
Nice video. Cute family.
Thank you!

❤❤❤
Jeez...this thing is buried. My other vehicles ive owned the battery is open and easily accessible.
Ya that's true. This car is a bit more complicated.
👍
If it is a german car this job is much complicated . Wow how simple are Japanese cars .
Well this one ain’t so simple either
