Very nice and informative video. What size battery do you recommend for 2015 lexus rx350? I mean the CCA or crank power. I recently took my car to toyota dealership and they put a 575 CCA on the car but most of the time it has hard time starting. Is the 575 crank Amp too weak for this car. Thanks
In my opinion, 575 CCA should be sufficient for that model. If it is having a hard time starting with a new 575 CCA battery, the new battery may be defective, or you may have some heavy parasitic electrical draw on it draining it down.
Our 2013 RX350’s battery discharges fairly quickly. The dealership said years ago that it’s common. We just kept a battery tender on it when we’re not using it, but now our daughter has it and she lives in an apartment and is not able to plug it in. Have you came across and things we could repair
@@Viktor_G_Automotive Yes there is an aftermarket remote, installed in 2012. I did speak to a place I’ve had a Drone Mobile remote starter installed and he said, the older models draw more power than newer ones.
@@pjfan173 aftermarket remote starter systems often start drawing excessive power when they get old/fail. I would unplug the system and see if that solves the problem.
We left our vehicle with a friend for month, they left the lights on and the thing is dead dead with a ton of corrosion. The menu on the interface now will not respond with a new AGM battery. Any suggestions?
It would need to be diagnosed in person. Possibly may need a new radio head unit if the old one is frozen/crashed. There are places that rebuild/repair them too, if the head unit is determined to be faulty upon diagnosis.
Hi Viktor...thanks for the great tutorial, as always! Question for you, if that's ok....my 2014 RX350 is throwing a "B15EC Replacement of Back Up Pack" code under Telematics. I'm assuming this is not referring to the 12V battery. From what little I can find, it sounds like the ECM has a backup battery and needs to be replaced. I've never heard of this battery before and very clueless on what to do (car is running perfectly fine and no other codes, if that makes a difference). Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
They did not have telematics on Canadian Lexus models until around 2018, so I have not run into that issue in the past. On the models I have seen with that system, the backup battery was located in the trunk/hatch.
OK, I looked it up and the back up battery on the 2014 RX is a small unit located just behind the glove box. Here is a video on the glove box removal, the battery will be accessible once you do that: ruclips.net/video/Fbfuai36VQs/видео.html

@@Viktor_G_Automotive I called Lexus to see about that battery (called a "Mayday Battery" when I looked it up). The parts dept said that battery has been discontinued. It sounds like that battery powers the Lexus Enform communications, which used 3G and Lexus has discontinued that service in the US due to 3G no longer in use/supported. So, the good news is that battery is just a paper weight now, so no need to replace. :-). Thanks again for your help in identifying that battery! My mind is at ease now that I have the info.
@@Nat-s8m hi, at work we would always replace with an OEM battery, therefore I don’t really know all the interchange information. Any aftermarket battery supplier would be able to tell you which of their batteries fits this model. Over the years, even the OEM battery specs changed, they originally had a 490 CCA battery in them, but then started supplying a 580 CCA as replacements.
I was scanning Autozone for a battery to buy for my 2011 RX350. I clicked the "will this fit your car" link. I get this; "Vehicle computer system must be~reset, contact your service specialist." Digging around, I learn that you must "register" the battery, or the car will charge it aggressively like an old battery, and that this will lead to failures, blown fuses, death, dismemberment and maybe even the collapse of the internet as we know it. Of course there's no info on how to register it. What do I do with this? Now I'm nervous.

Could you please help me with the torque specs of 3 bolts holding the alternator of a 2010 RX350?

Do you know if the OEM battery on a 2018 RX350 is an AGM version?
No, it’s a regular lead acid.

Viktor, do you recommend sticking with a 24F series battery when replacing the factory battery in a 2015 RX350 FWD?
You can definitely go with a larger one, as long as it fits and can be properly secured.

Not usually necessary on the 2010+ models.
The 2004-2009 model RX needs to have the windows initialized after battery replacement.
