Beautiful finish!
Thanks Brian, and thanks for stopping by.
@@TheGunmanChannel thanks. Interesting point about removing the doors on this color to get a nice crispy edge. Kudos to the shop.
This is what you don't see all the time. My 2 favorite ppl
#wokedreamsx100
Been painting professionally for over thirty years, trains planes cars boats,Kizz concerts lol,Humidity is your enemy, great job friend.
I could sit here all day and watch a 'Master' in action. I hear this colour is a bugger to get right, but you have it on 'point'. Love your vid's and the commentary that goes with it. Good 'on ya Gunny' 👊👍🚗
Much easier doing a respray but yea can be tricky if your doing a panel and blending it in for sure
The candy apple color ford came up with is=formidable!
Good stuff man. Looks like you got the PPG Envirobase sorted mate. I painted a repair in that colour and my boss was like hurry hurry. Unfortunately that was the last car I painted at that place. I quit. Can't deal with a boss that's on my back crying and screaming at everyone and he don't know anything about paint that's right, nothing.
I say this when they come in the paint shop rushing me, do you want it right or right now, I don't hack shit out get someone else in here to do it and I am not redoing their crap work either.
One of the best colors to come out in a while! Mann when the sun hits it!
Hardest colour to spray
Damn.... thats my favorite color for vehicles. It just POPS in the sunlight. Amazing.
Great to see you back Gunny , nice job...
I love that green gun man. I want it haha
Good
Gunman
I absolutely love that colour. One day I will have this colour on my RX-8
That's the best looking red, I wouldn't mind respraying my AU falcon in it
Awesome work.
That finish looks amaaaaazing! Better than factory!
cracking job 👌👌👌 looks like the jobs come out clean in that booth 💪💪💪
Lovely colour and beautifully finished gunny ! Top job dude 👌👍
Between this product and method of spraying it correctly will give you a beautiful final result. One other wonderful color..with the ford RR (Ruby Red) an aftermarket customs shop can offer 2 wonderful options for their clients!
Well done Gunman!
Well don Sir!
Excellent job throughout
And a very good explanation
Of the gun setting..
Keep up the good work.
Really want to paint my falcon this colour. Its bloody amazing
ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE!! PJP
Nice colour... nicer finish 👍
Very nice Gunny you smashed that one out a treat looks awesome and that colour is fantastic, love watching you spraying mate and it's always nice to see another Gunman video in my inbox 👏👏👍 John UK.
HELL YEA GUNNY!! Glad my tip helped you on the basecoat. Nice wet coat like if its clear and it leaves a perfectly smooth foundation for the next two coats. 👍

Absolutely mate, I thanked you in an Instagram post, you may have missed it. But thanks again.
@@TheGunmanChannel i saw it, im just excited that i was able to help since you help a lot of us threw the years, just happy i was able to return the favor and share my knowledge with you. Keep kicking ass GUNNY!! We all appreciate you.
Nice clean job came out really nice stay safe gunman
Wicked job bro 🤙🏼
Great work. I’m a mobile painter for dealerships. Wayyy harder to do out doors. Lol but your work is on point !! Good stuff
The little fish eye reaction was something i got a lot of when using waterborne paint, my fix was to either use a sealer or a light coat of base. If for some reason it still occurred i would let it flash off and give it a quick sand with 2000 sand paper
I sooo wish I could of seen that job outside in Aussie sunshine!!
Me too, but unfortunately I'm back in Melbourne now and it's not summer so most of the time is cloudy 😐
Love that color.
That came out sexy,, well done mate!
Always lookin forward for your new videos tnx
Really well done Gunny. Another exelent video. 👊
Love how you work. Totally Pro!
Loving the colour man. You make it look so easy. Have a great weekend yourself. Keep up these cool vids
Wow gorgeous color and an amazing job
This monster skill job man, looks awesome!!!
Hi Gunman, we have been looking at various red metallic cars for inspiration, I think I told you I wanted to spray all the panels on our spy-racing quad, but my wife says they are all the same. But I think the Mazda soul red is a shade or two darker than the Renault candy apple red and a few more. I like the Mazda color or am I mistaken? thanks Barry
Awesome results. Thanks for the share.
Fantastic job as always gunny 👍
Great job always a pleasure to watch
Looks good bro.
Excellent job gun man hi. From oceanside ca usa
I love that colour😍
Your work is always stunning 👍🏽
12 hours flash-off? Most clears will still stick. Did you perform the experiment? Around here for high thickness, people do that.
awesome job looks great
Might be a stupid question but… I’ve noticed that you seem to spray edges of panels last. I’ve always thought to spray edges FIRST so that you’re not throwing too much paint on. Does painting the edges last give a better wet edge or is it just down to preference?
It's because this way your overspray will land in the wet freshly sprayed surface. I have found that if you do the edges first the overspray will sit on the centre of the panel, and especially in the warmer months, the overspray can dry before you spray over it, and that can result in a sandpit effect. Hope that makes sense, and yeah I did used to do edges first but I find this way better.
@@TheGunmanChannel Definitely makes sense. I’m up in FNQ so the “Warmer months” is pretty much all the time. I’ll try out this method next time. Thank you for your help! 🤟🏼
Hi gun man from oceanside ca usa. Great job
If you are going to cut and polish the clear coat, is one clear coat layer enough? If you wanted to add metallic pin striping with a silver
base, would it be best to lay that over the finished candy having one coat of clear, sand the entire surface with 400 wet and dry, add the stripes and flow coat the whole job with another 2 coats of clear staying away from the edges?
I’ve got a 2017. Been repainted twice by manufacture warranty. Showing signs of needing a 3rd in spots. It’s a gorgeous color. But it just flakes off.
killer finish 👌!!!
This might have been an issue with a batch of your wet-on-wet primer. We had a bad batch of hardener, doing the same thing. Sorted itself out after 2 months. Stressful 2 months, trying everything to get rid of it though :D
So this 46V red is a true candy colour?
Over what base colour? I can't find the color code of the "pink" base (which actually looks more like a champagne or metalic peach).
Thanks a lot
If you don't have an old beer crate to stand on painting roofs can you even call yourself a painter 😂😂 and it has to be green !!
Awesome 👏 job gunny spot on am gunny if you spray on the candy the first day and you come back the next day and sand it with 1000 and apply clear coat over it would that work or not.Much love gunny keep it up 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👊👊👊✊✊✊✊✊💪💪💪💪🤙🤙🤙🤙🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👏👏👏👏👏
Hey gunny, is that a early falcon coupe in the background? If so show us the paint repairs on that if you do it .
I use this system in Texas. Heat is a big deal
Have you got any tips for when it does get hot and dry?
@@TheGunmanChannel over reduce, less air on last coat, turn heat off in the booth. Anything to slow drying.
Did you work out that fish eye problem?
I have found that if the flash off between wow primer and base coat is not long enough you get silicon looking fisheyes with envirobase high performance
Not sure if this is the case but especially on the edges of panels where you tend to double up a bit on wet on wet just what I’ve found in my experience
Am loving your channel no B/S easy to understand and super work
I have a bonnet to paint and was wondering if the settings you use for this paint could they be used for VAUXHALL Black Sapphire Z20r as well or would there be a different gun settings also would i have to do a mist coat?
We have used this colour at work what is concerning is the amount of product you put on the panels 3 coats of tinted lacquer and 2 coats of clear iam thinking maybe it would be best to bake the car after the tinted basecoat has been applied and then after a quick nib over and apply the clear coat it concerns me on the effects in the future of applying so much product in one go
Looks great 👍
@gunman where abouts do you get your paint supplies from? Where do you recommend in Perth WA! Cheers
I always used Park Automotive, I can't speak highly enough of them.
Love your videos man. I was wondering, Is there any possible way to get a similar result for this color with spray cans. im trying to figure out how to do it for a model car and I do not have an airbrush. If anyone could give me any info that would be awesome.
Do you have links for the 46V paint and the ppg sealer?
I spray first coat medium wet, secondcoat heavy, third coat basically a wet drop, then finish with double drop. That works great for me.. on solid colors i just do 3 medium coats and shes ready to rock. That EHP ive found you can spray so many damn ways its nuts. At another one of our locations the painter sprays it like spies. Super heavy coat, and almlst like a half coat. Lets it dry and that thing is dang near covered. I dont know how he doesnt run the blacks or what not.
Pretty damn gooooood! 👌👏👏👏
Watching you paint makes me want you to paint my car. I can't get it over to your shop though... #cry
i want to take the plastic off my street bike and have it painted this color. what do you think a job like this will cost me. the plastic would need to be prepped for paint. thanks
with the going back onto the clear times, it’s funny cause most reps here (us) would always tell you that you had about 24 hours to get back into something without scuffing and having to worry about adhesion. i’ve always ran back over anything if i had a problem just to be safe, but i’ve heard the 24 hour claim a lot. it’s also dependent on which clear you use.
Yeah the data sheet for the clear we use says that too, don’t fancy testing it right enough 😂
@@Sc-rq3qn i’ve seen dudes swear by it. so who knows, it may in fact work. it’s a gamble to me though
Hi Gunman, never dissapointed in watching. I live in Trinidad, West Indies, i'd like to know, what specifications for a compressor, you recommened for painting a car? I got one, but the air runs out too quickly. Thank you. God bless.
You need to cross reference the LPM/CFM from the compressor to the spray gun you use. The info will be on the side of the box. Hope that helps. If unsure, always go a bit bigger.
@@TheGunmanChannel thanks, and thanks for replying so quickly. Been watching your videos,👍awesome eork.. I have watched a few channels on painting, but your the only one i feel is straight up honest. No sugar coating. You're the only one i kept subscribed, those never acknoledged any of my comments or questions. Wizh you continued success bro.
@@STUDIO-2.1 thanks mate. I obviously can't reply to everyone but I do my best. Best wishes mate
hi do you know why I get color difference between metal parts and plastic bumper on a complete respray car it seems I happen often can also see that it can be a problem on factory new cars right from the factory
We had the exact same problem. For about 3week. But only happened to base coat through the wet on wet.
I found out what it was, it's the humidity.
@@TheGunmanChannel strange. I'm in the UK. It happened for around 2/3 week then stopped. Only happened on new panels with wet on wet. But only base coat was affected. 🙄
@@jimmcdonald5721 very strange, and same here, it just went away after a couple of weeks. I have a big Instagram audience and most people there agreed it was the humidity, it's definitely not an isolated issue.
Have you ever had problems with wrinkles in this color?
How are you reducing your basecoat? I usually reduce it 20% T494 + 10% T492 used to add 5% T493 but kinda got away from that
We just use 494 15% for metallic and 20% for solids. Are the other reducers faster? I'm yet to use anything but the 494
28% is also a pretty reliable mix....20% 494...8% 492.
30% on 3 stage pearls.
When in doubt, use your din 4 cup😅👍
@@TheGunmanChannel I've never heard of reducing the metallics less than the solids but that's probably why you are getting good coverage with that first coat. going to give your method a shot for sure. T492 is a "faster" reducer that helps strengthen the basecoat and dry faster, helps with any nibbing of the basecoat ( they don't want you to use T492 only though at least it's not recommended) T493 is a hardner for the basecoat, it's good and bad. T595 is a slow reducer but only to be used in environments with less than 30% humidity or else it really never drys and sucks to nib the base if there is T595 reducer in the basecoat.
Show tá no capricho
I notice you always spray from bottom up on vertical panels, any reason to spray either way ?
what clear where you using to wait 20 mins between coats just woundering
so.. is candy or red soul crystal? its same???or different...?
Sometimes that reaction is from the prep/ cleaning. I'm not sure how it doesn't happen to the sealer. To be determined.
I've got those small craters or fisheyes 2 ways, a contamination from wipes, Or a used tack rag. Or too much clearcoat wet on wet.
İ want to paint my car soul Red but i cant find the right color for undercoat cause ıts a transparan color the color bellow decides the end result you have any recommondations
what color to be applied before the soul red ? thanks
Bravo
Where did you purchase your 46v
Excelente 👍
Some sealers need to be mixed and stir it and let it sit 5 minutes so chemicals can really activate,or it will cause solvent popping that resembles fish eye,but sealers that are ready to spray with no activator, shouldnt be causing fish eye.but its happened to me before and it sucks.
I ended up asking the Instagram audience and it turns out it's something that only happens when it's humid. Strange thing. But it only ever happens when it's really humid or raining outside.
@@TheGunmanChannel tks
You should be teaching at the university how to paint cars

Wunder why mazda getting them resprayed. Probably warranty cos from factory not enough clear on the n they fade??
Killa wash bay there not like most 🤣
I heard thru the bamboo vine that Mazda has a major issue with the Soul Red mysteriously chipping .
Fish eyes all the time. I put clear base on everything. The slowest system on the market.
