Man these lyrics are even more relevant today. Same with Pearl Jam's Jeremy. Two songs that have aged very well and are still super powerful. Unfotunately I only got to see Tool once but at least it was in their peak at Ozzfest '98 and it was an amazing trippy performance. Tool is like a 60s psychadelic rock band for the 90s hard rock generation
if you was at the Camden, Ozzfest show; i was there......and if you was there; that set list was amazing......i seen TOOL 6 times and that setlist is my favorite!
My ex used to refer to him as a "spider" went and seen them live in 2016 and all you seen was his shadow just flailing about in the darkest corner of the stage
No band will ever, even remotely come close to this level of talent. They shouldve been a 1st Ballot HOF immediately following their release of 'Undertow'. FN Epic live👊
I saw TOOL live in St.Louis in 96, 97ish, don't remeber exactly. I only heard them on MTV before then, but as soon as the music started there, the atomosphere changed suddenly and I got totally sucked in. I fell in love with them. The audience went very crazy and almost violent... I probably was the only Japanese in that crowd. One of the best times of my life. This video reminded me of that live, but Maynard was dressed differently, wearing girls underwear and a trashy wig.
ONE OF THE MOST ENERGETIC ROCK SONGS EVER CREATED AND PERFORMED AND WITNESSED THIS BAND WELL OVER 75 TIMES SINCE 1995 AND ALWAYS ALWAYS GO INTO A DIFFERENT PLACE PSYCHOLOGICALLY WHEN THIS SONG IS PERFORMED WOW WHAT MEMORIES THE WITNESS
Sounds perfect to me. Greatest live performance ive heard, no question. How can it be more perfect than what it already is ? The thought is unfathomable.
Can't believe Maynard is actually singing to the audience (in underwear of course!) Lmfao. I saw them at the last concert the New Haven Coliseum had before being torn down. Maynard faced the back of the stage for the entire show! But they killed it that night. Opened with Sober while we were in line for beer. The entire concrete Coliseum was shaking from the bass guitar. Awesome show
Anemic Royalty I've known for a few years my dude. I've bought all their albums twice, asides Undertow. That's what I get for buying used, though lol. And when a buddy got me a record player for Christmas for whatever reason I got the color vinyl for Lateralus. It's neat looking but that's about it. I enjoy the cd platform.
@imhighonyourweed1 It sounds like the floor tom mic mix is way too low. All that you can here in the video is the bass drum playing the upbeats which makes them feel like downbeats without the low tom mix. It definitely got a little shaky, but they are still amazing.
i almost cried to that shit the first time i heard it, and believe me, i haven't cried in decades. its powerful. probably the most perfect sound and melody i've ever heard. might sound strange to you, but ive asked drummers how Danny does what he does, and they say it isnt possible. Some went as far as saying that Danny summons demons through the sacred geometry within the patterns of his drums. There are times when i listen to Danny and i have to turn the shit off, because its mind blowing.
Nah man, Tool's old performances sound nearly identical to studio albums. Not so much anymore because Maynard is getting old and his voice is kind of failing, but the old stuff sounds just as great live.
Instead of flaming some Toolbox I'd rather share the day i'll never forget. I was driving down the road pissed at the city council & the mayor for being, well, a big bunch of dicks. This song came on the radio and instead of blindly signing along I listened. I now refer to this moment as the day my apathetic third eye got Lasik surgery by way of Tool. Were all connected and have a voice...use it correctly. Stand together.
I love watching him perform, it's like an alien is trying to leave his body.
I've seen it as an impression of a marionette

Maynard looks like a stop motion animation, it’s absolutely insane.
My ex used to refer to him as a "spider" went and seen them live in 2016 and all you seen was his shadow just flailing about in the darkest corner of the stage
@@bradylasserre9320 nice, that’s a very good call.

FN Epic live👊
The kind of song that hits you right in between the eyes.
holy shit tool preforms awesomely in concert, they sound so identical to the studio version!
Bulecast12 the point isn’t to sound like the album, the point is to bring a fucking amazing performance
It doesn't sound like the studio but it's amazing it's live it's a show it's different
you bet Weeaboo.....live is always better..

...sweet jesus thank you for TOOL

Wow. This audience recording sounds amazing.
Some of the best, most meaningful lyrics in music history...
Sounds perfect to me. Greatest live performance ive heard, no question. How can it be more perfect than what it already is ? The thought is unfathomable.

Awesome show
I love the bass in this
I agree with the lyrics of this song...that's for sure!
One of the BEST Tool songs ever! Lyrics still VERY relevant currently. Thanks for posting this, I was at this show! Asbury Park Convention Hall! 🤘🤘
You witnessed history dude
More relevant.
5:19 in my opinion is one of the greatest moments in music history. Its epic, no other band can come close. Tool was on a level of there own.
The name of the record is Aenima, the song name is spelled Aenema.
Nacho Shane only a true Tool fan would know this. much respect.
Anemic Royalty Nobody other than a true fan would purchase the actual copy of the album.
Anemic Royalty I've known for a few years my dude. I've bought all their albums twice, asides Undertow. That's what I get for buying used, though lol. Nacho Shane i also prefer the CD print with the layered artwork. You keep turning a page of the booklet and it becomes more and more vivid.
Not true lol it's spelled the same as the album name
5:54 gives me the chills
Best strange live performance ever. He is great. whole band is incredible
Little piggy little piggy.lol
HAHA i love how its all dark and hardcore and then at the end he just politely says goodnight lol
I was at this show. 16 years old. 2nd time I'd seen them live. After this show, I was hooked.
Wow what a gem of a recording
This is the best video to help me with my tab, Thank you.
amazing concert
4:33 he just insulted 3 quarters of the audience.
just a guy you’re insulting with this comment, why don’t you listen to what he’s saying
That's why I love this song.
@@rickyricardo6725 imagine not understanding a joke
Ricky Ricardo chill
He's so good, it sounds like he's lip syncing. Badass!
best song for anything
This is maybe the best Tool concert ever¡¡¡

At 6:55 it looks like Danny is wearing a sombrero because of the position of his head lol
EPIC!.. 5:18
The whole song
Genialne
Why not. Now seems like a good time as any.
Fucking channelling the art
one of the greatest songs of all time. tool is on a completely different level, to compare other bands to tool is not fair.
Learn to appreciate other things around you
Is this Lollapalooza 97 at the Sony Blockbuster Amphitheatre in Camden? Because I saw Tool right then and there summer 97,

Agreed it makes the breakdown have a weird feel lol
I agree.
Tools live performances are way better than their studio recordings, at least that's my opinion.
Nice
exelent!
Just one other comment...
OH THE JOYOUS FEELING OF ANY F****** TIME ANY F****** DAY
Is mister Carey GodDrummer shirtless here?
Fucking badasss song man

This is talent right here...Many artists should learn from this and make their music legit and not with that autotune shit
Not enough love for Justin!
Who is the drummer; that fucker is awesome?
Danny Carey
only reason I dislike this is Jason showing live version while playing studio version..not right..
Haha, dude. Maynard is just really good at keeping rhythm and a perfect voice while flaying about like a psycho
Nah man, Tool's old performances sound nearly identical to studio albums. Not so much anymore because Maynard is getting old and his voice is kind of failing, but the old stuff sounds just as great live.
No,,, this 1 goes out to L. Ron Hubbard,, not Eulogy
@imhighonyourweed1 Yeah, Danny seemed to be a lot slower than usual.
Correct.
wait, is this the real sound???
End Times are upon us as I speak. He got his wish snd then some…….globally❤️🙏 It’s going to get really rough😑
was this at Oz fest?
