I'd recommend figuring it out yourself! Every deck starts with an idea. The rest is just trial and error and hard thinking about how it would work in-game.
At some point, the deck building process will become trial and error (the testing phase if nowhere else). However, there are "guidelines" to build a deck that deckbuilders follow when it comes to every other card game out there and I don't see how Runeterra would be any different when it comes to this. Another thing with the daily quest is to maximize your exp through rerolling for 1500exp dailies, you can even hold on to some of the "impossible to accidentally complete" dailies so that you can reroll them tomorrow for another chance at 1500exp. It hardly takes any extra time and can go a long way towards getting a lv10+ vault each week when you aren't playing all that much. You can also carry over an active openplay expedition for the additional exp if you played a lot in one week but won't be playing as much in the next. Maxing the vault can be done with just 1 or 2 days depending on how hard you decide to play, so even if you just play on weekends you can still complete the vault. Anything above 10 on the vault is basically fluff, at 10 you get the token and then for each level beyond 10 you get 1 capsule and 200ish shards which while nice costs you 3k+ exp per level.
Some good advice here. I've noticed the rewards seem to fall off after level 10 and this explains why. The other cool thing is that even though you're only given one reroll per day, you can save up to 2 rerolls so that way you can give yourself 2 chances to reroll for a 1500 XP quest.
Nice! It looks like you're high rolling a bit right now, but it also seems like the chest upgrades happen more often than I think, at least in my experience. Epic to Champion is always super nice!

I don't recommend throw games for xp because something weird was happening my weekly vault was golden chests and they got down to silver also don't stack your quest because you will lower your chance to get 1500 quests
Agree with #2. Not so much #1. Even if everyone in Iron is playing meta decks, which I doubt, you don't have to hyper focus on the one region to make a meta deck for unless you know exactly what deck you want to build first. Even if you don't netdeck, you literally only need to win 1 out every 7 games in Iron and you would still climb. I definitely wouldn't focus on one region if you don't even know what you're going to build first.
I don't think the "exploit" should be punished... you still spend time doing it, even if it's less than playing the games out. You get worse rewards for less time spent on it, sounds fair. If anything, the system needs work. Not to mention when you concede vs players it gives them an easy win. XP for everyone! :o
That's fair. I've seen other games where devs leave similar "exploits" in the game on purpose. Sometimes stuff like this that's put into the game is intentional, though it doesn't seem to be the case according to Riot's latest balance patch? (someone else mentioned it was in regards to Friend challenges, not the AI) It'll be interesting to see how they approach this in the coming weeks.
Hi boss! New subscriber here can you make more beginners guide videos, thanks a lot, it really helps me to understand and appreciate this game more cause im new to this card game. Thanks and keep safe to you and your family.
the way im doing it right now is checking each region after i got them to level 8 and ask: what region i already have the most amount of epic and or champions that are good? in my case shadow isle, and conclude leveling that region at least right now isn't going to give me deck diversity, when i already have one ledros, and two rasha, getting another of them isnt exactly game changing. then what region have the most amount of cards im still missing? follow by how many of those cards could allow me to build a new deck, for example demacia have a lot of cards im missing but at the same time most of them are commons and rares that i can just craft, oppose to piltover and zaun, and ionia where im missing corina, mina, and yone another strategy is, expeditions, if you dont care much about getting a random champion it is always better to use your shards on expeditions since they will give you exp and shards, and the exp is not limited by your daily limit at all, also you could do three expeditions in a week and continue doing them for free (without rewards after that) leading to you earning 3 champions from them but continue getting experience from the aditional ones (assuming all you have is time) post note: AI loses are intended to give experience, which is stated in their open beta patch notes, 50 for first 5 and 25 for next 5 games after than then nothing so i think the issue riot is mentioning is friendly challenges we haven't got any information about friendly challenge win trading either, but it does lead to disgusting amounts of exp for free, riot might right out patch that one too even faster than the AI losing exp.
Interesting regarding the friend challenges. I didn't realize you actually got XP for those (and I've done a few lol). Your approach after level 8 requires that you either know your collection very well or you'd have to look at your collection to see what you're missing before switching regions. It takes time but it's a very good approach since it lets you work towards the cards you're missing for a specific deck and if you can't get those cards easily (Rares, Epics, etc). And, yeah, Expeditions are always the better buy as long as you really don't care about getting a specific Champion at the moment.
@@OhItsMulligan it is a much bigger exploit than in AI, if each person surrender back and forth until each get 10 wins (not taking into account daily bonuses) both people get 2750 exp (2000 from 10 wins, and 750 from 10 loses), if both surrender another 10 games each both get 1250 more exp (0 from loses but 150 and 100 from wins) it trivialize the daily limit of exp
@@ChincerDante That's actually crazy. 4000 XP per day if you have a friend willing to do it! And it probably takes 20 minutes total to get all of that done. Honestly, with what Riot said in the patch notes, I think they're basically saying "we know what you guys are doing and we are monitoring this activity, but we won't do anything for now" :P
I would like to see you make an "Expeditions guide" if you could, because I kind of don't know how to actually build a viable deck at all. Thanks if you do! :)
We'll see. I've unfortunately been in a slump myself the past few days when it comes to Expeditions. But if I figure out how to get out of it and get better at the mode, I'll definitely consider it :)
Key to expeditions is drafting good creatures and combat tricks. Learning when to attack and block and how to play around each factions combat tricks are key to expedition. With how draft works you can easily get a lot of one category if you pick it repeatedly. Most removal is either hard to come by, bad or really expensive so games are decided by combat. Freljord and Demacia are toptier regions with great 5 and 6 cost followers that can put on massive pressure, you want 1 or both as your main faction. P&Z and Shadow Isles are a bit all over the place and can be great if you can find the right "packs/buckets" of cards but can also backfire, these shouldn't be main factions but more 5-10 good removal options and value cards. Noxus has good creatures but also a ton of aggro stuff that might be iffy if you aren't fully committed to aggro, they also have some of the best removal. Ionia can sneak wins but its not as safe as just playing the demacia and freljord boardcontrol game, also filled with a bunch of dead cards(ephemeral). Start out with a good portion of early game drops so that you won't get run over before you can get going. As the trial progresses you can easily trade off any excess 2 drops for big minions. Pick your packs dependent on overall quality, 1-2 good cards aren't enough to justify unplayable ephemeral stuff. In the end with how great the synergy draft is you can get a ton of weird decks and synergies if you try but its hard to know before hand if your mushroom, poro or yeti deck will get the right packs. Its definitely great fun to draft wacky stuff in open play after doing the 3 weekly expeditions. I'm currently sitting on 12k shards from doing 3 expeditions each week and getting diamond vaults since the second week(first week i got 2 plats 1 dia). I generally get 2 expeditions with 7 wins and 1 that ends prematurely.
Ionia- grinded it to max first then moved to the others felt it was worthy of doing took like 2/3 days I wouldn’t do the 4 at a time but that’s me but I also knew what I wanted right away
In general, it is. Sometimes you still want to wait if tomorrow is Vault Day when your weekly vault resets so you can get an extra XP boost for the new vault, especially if that daily isn't gonna help you enough to level up your current vault without playing a bunch more games that you might not have time for. Sometimes the 1000xp daily is easy for you to do, so you just do it instead of risking a re-roll and ending up with a 1000xp daily you don't want.
Great video. you got a sub from me for being to the point. I'm getting into this game. Who knows how long but for now I'm playing and liking it. Likely not gonna get vault to lvl 13 by Tuesday but I did start late. Still great to know for future. I see "Top Rank Decks" videos. Is there a real reason to play ranked or is it just an Eboner thing? Do I get end of season rewards? Should I be sweaty?
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I wouldn't stress getting the vault to level 13 every week. As long as you get to level 10, you're fine since at level 10 you now get a Champion Wildcard each week to craft any Champion you want since they updated the progression system a few weeks ago. Level 13 and beyond is just icing on the cake now. Top rank decks videos it depends because there's hardly anybody in Masters rank now, but some of those videos are from players that were Masters during Open Beta and, of those, some reached near the top of even the Masters league or even got to rank 1. A little bit of Eboner and truth, but you tend to get that in the card game communities sometimes I've found (and just gaming in general lol). As far as end of season rewards, we don't know the details but I believe Riot has said something in regards to them exploring it and we would know something later on. I could be wrong though. I would imagine they would because a lot of other card games have end of season rewards, though seasons in this game are 2 months long, unlike other card games that are typically only 1 month. I'd only be sweaty if you wanna either get to the very, very top of Masters or you wanna hit Masters quickly and early. Otherwise, don't sweat it and enjoy the ride :)
The more I play this game, the more I think this is a misconception. There are several decks where you don't need 6 champs. Fiora is actually a good example. The most common combo version runs 3 Fiora and 1 Karma. My original barrier list used to run 3 Fiora 3 Shen, then I ended up cutting the 3rd Shen and the deck actually ran better before I eventually switched to the Karma version. There are Shadow Isles midrange decks that only run Elise, which you already get 2 of for free when you start. There are still others that also run 2 Darius, both of which you also get free when you start. I've lost to 0 champion decks as recent as a few hours ago. One deck per week can absolutely be done.
@@rookiebobplayer244 Not necessarily. I don't even think you need Shen anymore if we're talking the old barrier style decks (you need only 4 champs for the newer version with Karma). Now if you want to get into other Fiora decks that aren't combo, maybe you could make more of an argument. There are some that run Zed with more Elusives, but technically you don't need to go into Demacia at all to have a decent Elusives deck. So in that situation, Fiora herself isn't a necessity.
@@rookiebobplayer244 Most of the champions aren't that good. Zed, Elise who are really good are basically free. Once you have the few good champions you basically have all the cards as the rest is dirt cheap. 3 Fiora, 1 Elise, 1 Zed, 2 Braum, 3 Vlad, 3 Hecarim and maybe Lucian and Ashe then you can make any deck in the game. Most decks will function with just 2 as they aren't always the main focus.
@@luminous3558 I dunno I can really say that there are bad champs... Maybe Vlad thresh and kalista but even then 2 of those are still very acceptable bodies.... Can you give me an example of a champ so bad right now in this current pool of cards that it is actively a waste to craft them when you have every common epic and rare card? Or a deck other than one that runs ledros or elnuks that can't be improved with the addition of champion(s)
Ouch. I would say between the actual champion capsules and the chance for epic cards to upgrade to champs, that's fairly unlucky. It can and will happen though. Unfortunately, even Runeterra doesn't escape the classic "game never gives you the exact legendary you need but gives you every other legendary you don't want" situation that plagues card games. Eventually you will pull her, but it's just a matter of when. And will it be "too late" by the time you do.
Mulligan I could craft 3 copies. But I hate to spend shards or wildcards. I have no clue to why I hate spending so much but I’m probably never going to craft anything xD
@@claudiob_ Totally understand that. Even though I've got a couple decks now, I sit back and wonder if I had just saved all my shards and wildcards, then "what if" lol. Still better to hoard than to spend though IMO so don't feel bad :)
@@claudiob_ Yeah just wait, the meta isn't even settled yet with new decks popping up each week and old decks disappearing from meta shifts. Shards and Wild cards take a long time to build up again if you run out. Best to always keep a big amount held back in case new cards come out or you find a deck you really like.
After some pondering I've come to the conclusion that even this "fast" way isn't fast enough for me, or rather, it's too tightly scheduled to be worth my leisure time and it misrepresents what I think games should be about. So, instead of going down this rabbit hole any further and trying to optimize things, I'm going to opt out entirely. Let's says I'm in standby mode for the unforeseeable future. I'm still going to follow the game and Mulli though. :o
Yeah thats definitely also something I've been feeling as well, over time I've come to hate "daily quest" systems in games but LoR goes a step further tbh. In HS you can just stack quests and don't worry about anything just get back within 3 days to clear them, playing games rewards a pitiful amount of gold so you don't feel bad for not playing everyday to exhaust the win rewards. LoR is in a way more rewarding but you also lose out on more if you don't play. The daily quest is only a third of the average daily exp you can make so just stacking dailies feels bad as you are losing out on things. Most of the daily stuff gets done pretty fast, 3 wins, 10 losses, 10 AI losses is just 3 real games at best and a bunch of clicking for the losses. Another big thing is the 3 Expeditions per week limit that encourages you to play all 3. With how rewarding the game is the best solution for players is probably to just step back take the reduced rewards from not playing daily. I think that if people play daily they will soon hit limits, region rewards are finite so at some point you just get the vault which is easy to complete but only really needs to go to 10 for the token. So its probably best to just take it slow while avoiding burn out. But I can definitely see merit in just straight up avoiding these kinds of daily grind systems that are common in mobile time waster games.
@@luminous3558 Hey, we meet again. Nice insight, I enjoyed reading it! LoR might look more rewarding but there are also more things to get. Someone would need to do the math and get clear data on how it relatively stacks up instead of just in a vacuum or by feel. See if the "better rewards" are evenly proportionate to the collection size. There's a better word for it I forgot about, but I think you know what I mean. I feel like Rito is banking on "indoctrinating" players, playing on their fear of missing out or losing things, or OCD. Not a fan of that. It's probably to keep retention rates, engagement, and exposure to the game high. Which looks good on the diagrams and to investors but to me feels fake, artificial, doing things for the wrong reasons, playing while not really having fun, and not being player-oriented. I'd like dailies that could be stacked up forever, stockpiled if needed, then reaped all at once with casual play. I understand why they don't want that and how that changes them from dailies to something different but I'd like to see someone do this sometime. It's okay though. The game not going my way just means I won't play it. No hard feelings.
@@HighLanderPonyYT I think the way its more rewarding is that most decks are made up mostly of bulk commons and a few rares with maybe 2 epics. The champions are harder to early on and especially if you play less. Depending on how many good decks really need their champions you could easily have a couple decks ready or as budget builds with minimal play. Once you have got the initial stuff you don't really need the grind as you can easily play ladder when you feel like it. The problem lies in the future and the way riot will approach increasing the card pool. If riot just pushes out a 100+ card expansion then the players who didn't take part in the daily grind will instantly be blown out depending on powercreep. If riot just slowly adds cards in 5-10 card sets with the occasional new region and then balance the whole thing as one card pool your decks might stay relevant for quite a while. All depends on riots idea of how to get money out of this game as the current model has me questioning why anyone would spend money on the few wildcards per week when you get the same stuff by playing a little more. It is a very un-cardgamelike monetization that feels a bit too f2p friendly to be true. I'm with you on the OCD stuff as that is also really screwing with me when I play games with systems like this and has made me quit multiple games when they turned into more stress than fun.
@@luminous3558 If other CCGs are of any indication, decks will get more expensive over time. I've lil' to no issue with the common/rare rates, it's the spicier cards that seem to be behind a steep wall. Also, to me, a card game is more about trying all the crazy stuff and themes, not making a few ladder decks to farm with, I find that boring. Good point. Usually these systems are made so you can't get ahead of the curve. Being constantly behind and feeling out of reach is no fun to me. It's like they're afraid that once people are content with the game, owning everything, they'll just leave. To me that feels like a lack of trust in their own product being fun enough to play even without a grind incentive and a lack of trust in their players being more than mice running on a treadmill. The WC pricing and limits, and how dupes are handled seem to punish spending on the game which is a big th0nk. It does feel too good to be true, but as I said, to me, it could still be more generous. I guess it also depends on a player's previous experience with such games. If this was my first game of this type, I'd probably have more patience, a narrower perspective that would make me care less, and I'd me less jaded and fatigued. Yeah, I dislike when things don't line up seemingly only to inconvenience the player. They're the designers, they can do whatever they like but they chose to inconvenience you. Doesn't seem right. Same with the store prices and the amounts of coins you can buy. They barely if ever line up. That's a red flag to me.
It still is yeah. If you know what deck you want to build already, focus on just those 1 or 2 regions to get the cards for it. Otherwise, you can do what's in this guide.
awsme content. bro plz make counter cards guide.example counter for kill unit card etc. i still cant c that in youtube.plz plz make one. subscribed and waiting. #JoiGurugaming
They patched it soon after this video came out via reducing the amount of XP you could get fighting the AI so that eventually you don't get any. So I assume you won't get banned anymore for doing it as there's no real point to do it now.
For the most part yeah :) The only thing they added was bonus XP in the early levels for new accounts but that just means you get stuff even faster doing the things in this video. At least for the first 2 weeks anyway.
Yeah unfortunately they changed the rewards in a patch after I did this video. You can still get a guaranteed legendary every week through the vault and it's a legendary wildcard, meaning you can use it to craft any legendary you want. It's honestly better since before when you did Expeditions, the legendary was random, so you might not even get the one that you wanted back then.

another strategy is, expeditions, if you dont care much about getting a random champion it is always better to use your shards on expeditions since they will give you exp and shards, and the exp is not limited by your daily limit at all, also you could do three expeditions in a week and continue doing them for free (without rewards after that) leading to you earning 3 champions from them but continue getting experience from the aditional ones (assuming all you have is time)
post note: AI loses are intended to give experience, which is stated in their open beta patch notes, 50 for first 5 and 25 for next 5 games after than then nothing so i think the issue riot is mentioning is friendly challenges
we haven't got any information about friendly challenge win trading either, but it does lead to disgusting amounts of exp for free, riot might right out patch that one too even faster than the AI losing exp.
@@OhItsMulligan it is a much bigger exploit than in AI, if each person surrender back and forth until each get 10 wins (not taking into account daily bonuses) both people get 2750 exp (2000 from 10 wins, and 750 from 10 loses), if both surrender another 10 games each both get 1250 more exp (0 from loses but 150 and 100 from wins)
it trivialize the daily limit of exp

Plz make a video on how to get champion cards faster
This video is perfect
Thank you so much for the compliment! Really appreciate it!
Can u make a video on how to counter elusive decks ?????? its pretty annoying
Ionia- grinded it to max first then moved to the others felt it was worthy of doing took like 2/3 days I wouldn’t do the 4 at a time but that’s me but I also knew what I wanted right away
It's good to re-roll your 1000exp dailies for the chance at a 1500exp daily.
Super helpful. Thank you.
How do you get two daily quests? I only have one per day
You can only get 1 per day but if you don't do one, it's saved. You can hold up to 3 quests but then you won't get any more unless you complete one.
I maxed out the noxian region and nothing else at first cause i really wanted a swain deck :/
You can't make 1 deck per week though... Especially if it needs 6 new champs
@@OhItsMulligan I guess if we are really limiting to that constraints, but wouldn't fiora decks benefit greatly from a second win condition?
Guide to make a deck and the characteristhics of every region
I chose Demacia to get Fiora. I’m almost done with it and still haven’t got a single copy
Thank you brudda
This conversation is too high level

I got seven wins 3 times and didnt got any fucking legendary? Wtf is that?
Yeah unfortunately they changed the rewards in a patch after I did this video. You can still get a guaranteed legendary every week through the vault and it's a legendary wildcard, meaning you can use it to craft any legendary you want. It's honestly better since before when you did Expeditions, the legendary was random, so you might not even get the one that you wanted back then.
