You don't need a DCIM folder on a new SD, it's just for old pictures you want to save with an old sd, but you do need to create the pit.bin by opening the sd card in photos

I went into unlaunched and set one of the other buttons in the options settings to launcher so when I hold that button when turning on the ds it boots to the home menu
maybe a weird question but are you still able to play physical games from the cartridge slot after homebrewing your console? I have a few games with save files I would like to be able to continue playing.
you can, but I'm pretty sure you need to change the theme to Nintendo 3DS in twilight menu settings. also, you can dump the game and save files using godmode9i
I like to use Hiya CFW, so I won't loose access to original DSi Menu, (because I use cartrigeds) and also a plus is that Twilight Menu installs as another program on DSI Menu, so I can launch it whenerver I want to.

As soon as I used the unlaunch my dsi is now permanently stuck in the settings and formatting it doesn't allow me to even go to the normal dsi menu. How would I fix this?
Thanks for the tut. Most up to date one I found as of typing. One question; If I were to upgrade my SD card to a larger sized one (IE current one that I did the homebrew with being the standard 2 gig and wanting to upgrade to maybe an 8 or 16 gig) would I have to redo the whole process? Or just cut and paste everything from the old SD card? Would it still recognize it and load everything up properly as if I were using the original card I did the TWiLight Menu mod with?

@@dto8090if you are talking about using only the sd card, no, you would need an r4 that allows you to put the data of an sd into the console, a ds lite does not have a sd slot
5:40 yo, have done this twice before, trying to do this on another DSI, followed everything perfectly, nothing happened here, any idea on what to do? Edit: if anyone is having any issues, it might be because the pit.bin file you dragged in MIGHT have a (1), mine did because ive done this before, thats what messed things up, just go back to the sd card, delete both pit/tip files, put the sd card in the DSI, go to the SD part on the camera app, put the SD card back in the PC, redo the pit.bin steps, make sure there's no (1). That fixed everything.
At 5:32 when I click on the album in the SD card I have nothing there. I have all the files in there and I have the pit.bin file renamed to tip.bin and the new pit.bin file is in there as well. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong :/

This was WAY easier than I thought it was. I borrowed my friends dsi and he told me the R4 wasn't working and I could do whatever to it, just not delete any of his pictures or flipnotes. This tutorial worked wonderfully, thank you so so much!

Around 3:34 if I'm not mistaken, you need to actually take a photo for the DCIM folder to be created.

How do you download Nintendo DS games from you pc to Nintendo DS witch website do you use to finde games?
I use Retrostic, open the rom files in 7zip and drag the DSI file into the ds folder.

I found a way. Power off your ds, remove the sd card, turn the ds back on. It will automatically open unlaunch, and you want to select launcher

you can copy the files you have from the old sd card, and just paste it into the new one with no problems. it should keep everything as it is!

it didnt work, after the tip/pit bun step i put in the sd card and went to album and the photos are just question marks and nothing loaded
