I have been working on this compilation project for over 3 years now. This video includes all the important unused dialogues from Fall of the Trident. The unused dialogue are shown in colourful text.
Thank you so much. I've always had trouble keeping up with the story, it was engaging enough but some of it was over my head. Good job putting the missing pieces back in.
Hey bro, im wondering, can you mod new aomr campaing with old voices? i would love to see that and if so learn and make it my own :3 regards and thanks for your videos.
6:08 this scene honestly proves why some of the dialogue shouldn't have been cut. The whole scene just works better with the aditional lines. It adds to the idea that Arkantos is seen as a "relic" of sorts . A hero with no more monsters to slay, a soldier with no more wars to fight. And to add on top of that , it implies he's only kept around as an Admiral due to his legendary reputation and how it reflects on the theocracy, but rather than having him be involved in any *actual* decision making, he's kept busy chasing pirates ,all the while everyone who feels threatened by how much the soldiers and the people love him are just waiting for him to retire. It makes Arkantos feel like a slightly more fleshed out character in the context of this universe by showing how he's completely okay with fading from relevance and being past his glory days if it means peace for his homeland. Only being roped into one last adventure by the vortex of fate.
For that exchange specifically, I actually disagree strongly. I love the expansion to the opening cutscene, where Athena references a bunch of different enemies Arkantos has fought, and I think it's a much better way to expand Arkantos' backstory and give real weight to the line that stayed in the game 'you have won more battles for Atlantis than can be counted', but I feel like Arkantos complaining about his place in that scene, after the fall of Troy, at that point in the story kinda drags the pace in a weird way. If you want more dialogue about Arkantos's current life, it should've been during scenes where he met Ajax and Odysseus, or while chasing pirates, but after the Trojan war is an awkward place for that exposition to go. I appreciate what it adds, but that's not the right time in the narrative to add it, in my opinion. I agree with the cut.
7:06 I kinda get why this was cut. Revealing that Poseidon is effectively the main villain of the game THIS early ruins the impact later on. Not to mention it basically confirms that the Trojan War was effectively just a diversion. As well as giving more of Gargarensis's character (Tho they probably could have kept it with minor alterations to keep make sure not to spoil it)
12:13 I always wondered why Amanra's first line in the final game, "what are YOU doing here", emphasized the "you" as if she recognized them - only to go on to introduce herself a moment later. Adding the extra lines about them being Greeks and Atlanteans, it suddenly makes more sense!
When i was younger i always taugh that in the campaing greeks and egytians never meet each other until arkatos show up. ( Not counting the pirates that we fight).
Same honestly. Some of the dialogue that was cut either fleshes out the characters or gives a fair amount of context to the situations they're in. You can tell tho that it was probably done due to time and budget constraints than anything else tho, as some of this extended dialogue would mean longer cutscenes.
@@filipvadas7602 With the success of AOE2:DE and the unsuccessfulness of Tales of the Dragon, I can see why they would benefit from modifying the story.
While I do understand why some of the dialogue was cut were cut, as they either feel redundant or ruin the pacing, some of these really should have been kept in (6:08 , 10:40, 13:00, 16:05 and more are objectively superior and/or more comprehensible compared to what we got) I also like the little details of culture shock, like the Norsemen reacting to seeing a Centaur for the first time etc.
@@softwarelivre2389a little redundant , yes, but I feel that its nice that these characters actually talk about something other than the plot. Amanra being suprised that they know Kemsyt feels organic
I love it as a joke, but Gargarensis doesn't speak much poetry after Greece. Once at the start of the Norse campaign, and that's it. It feels like a trait that players will have forgotten by that point, so I kinda agree with cutting it. And pointing out how verbose he normally is, and then having him awkwardly not say anything is just kinda weird, even if it counts as foreshadowing that it isn't really Gargarensis.
Hey man, your commitment is admirable, i always felt that some dialogues were weird, but after all these years this game still has ways to touch my heart, through you the gods have favored us, thank you.
This is wonderful! While I can see why some of the dialog was cut, most of this adds a lot of character and flavor to the original scenes. It’s genuinely amazing you were able to recover so much of this. Do you plan or trying to recover any of the possible lost Titans dialogue? I’d really love to hear you find more

Great job man. Ever since I was little, I couldn't understand the context of some of the story lines although I have been repeatedly playing it for my whole life. I thought it's just how myth prescribed a prophecy or something, so vague is part of the dialogue
The flow of the dialogue is much better in the final version though, sure they're letting us assume and guess what's happening but the dialogue and fewer words is much more impactful than telling us all those things
That is from the "Close to Home" scenario. It was an exclusive scenario available only to the people that pre-ordered the game back in 2002. It's was also available in AoM Extended Edition as aom_special_scenario.scn
wow this is actually better... they needn't have cut out this dialogue but that bit where Reginleif was talking about her village... is that a cut scenario? Do we know what it was like? Or why Reginleif left the party afterwards? We never got a proper goodbye to that character
I think it would have messed up the flow with quite a few of them though their are some line here and their that would have been fine. That line is form a demo scenario for EE i think you can play it though the editor
I know im a year late, and many others have said the same .But I enjoy most of this dialouge. While some of it is certainly redundant, it does show off greater character of the cast and helps path up little things. As well as some genuinely good lines and moments. Like Arkantos threatening Gargarensis, only for a meteor to strike.
No wonder even when my first contact with the game the dialogue feels like it's been shorten in an unnatural way. If the studio weren't press for time and fee, I think they could expand the campaign with the indicated lines.
Most of the lines here would give the game so much better context and flow, Lika how amanra first meet the group, or Ajax asking if Gargenrensis want to do some poetry, such a shame they cut those
A lot of this dialog would have enriched the story and filled the gaps. All this time I thiught the story was simple, but in actuality they just removed all of the depth lol.
I swear some of the coloured text i see i got and some of the regular text i didn't one example is the setna answering ajax with some later dialogue do you have certain setting on that give you more dialogue?
