- Finally had my exhaust done on my 1070 Ford Galaxie 500. FastBack/Sports roof. Full 3” inch mandrel bent tubing, custom headers fabricated by Ford Powertrain Applications, H-pipe, FlowMaster super 10s and 3 1/2” inch chrome exhaust tips. This replaces the very restrictive factory cast manifolds and really small factory 2 1/4” inch pipe which was choked down to 1 3/4 “ over the axel. The new system looks and sounds nasty. Turn up your volume for the open header big block 429 cold start up and some clips of me driving to the shop. Next project is my new fuel tank with drop in Aeromotive Phantom dual 340 fuel pumps, followed by upgrading my MSD6AL to and MSD 6AL2 Programmable to dial in the boost retard and finally the install of my twin Torqstorm Centrifugal supercharger system. I’m hoping to get all this done by Memorial Day providing life does not get in the way. They are Ridler #650 Wheels. 18x8 up front and 18x9.5 in the rears. 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 in the rears. I picked up the wheels on EBay and had them mounted and balanced locally.

Why would they reduce the exhaust so much after the muffler? Even my 351w is only choked down from 2 1/4" to 2"

The guys name is Stan. He owns Ford Powertrain Applications. He makes custom headers for all the big old school full size fords. The fit perfect.

@Galaxie Man it's hard finding headers to fit the 400 modified motor for the LTD ford. I have a 1971 so I'm hoping he can make me some custom ones that won't break my pockets lol
