@@70GalaxieMan for sure I’m going to buy them. I was just stuck with 18’s or 20’s. I think 18’s is the sweet spot.

@@buckaveli I like the 18s because I believe it gives you a little more meat on the tire vs the 20s and will ride better on the Highway. Good luck

They are Ridler #650 Wheels. 18x8 up front and 18x9.5 in the rears. 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 in the rears. I picked up the wheels on EBay and had them mounted and balanced locally.

Yes. Those were channel lock brand. Ground off the cutting end. Then you have to grind/clearance the space between both jaws on the crumpet along with minor grinding at the wire crimping part of the cutters so when your looking at the cutters in the closed position you have at least a 1/16 gap to allow for the thickness of the aluminum. East and works excellent.

The main rev limiter or over rev protection is set at 6000 rpm. The two step is set at 4000 for when I want to mess around and catch people off guard with my crazy sounding big block.

Just got this Beauty running Camed ported the heads myself swapped the heads to d00e’s 1970 tunnleback Galaxie 500 we will be installing a procharger and lots of burnouts make sure you keep up on the build fam !!

About 9-1 compression. And my timing is locked out around 36 degrees but i pull timing at start up. I have since installed a high torque mini starter.

@@70GalaxieMan Nice! Did that mini starter spruce up the cold starts then? I was gonna switch to one soon as I'm ready to install some 351C headers.

@@SirEpifire the mini starter is awesome. Cranks the engine fast and easy at any temperature. Definitely a good upgrade.

The biggest obstacle will be the linkage and starter. If you can clear your factory linkage I know there are some aftermarket brackets and cables that will work. Lokar offers options. My linkage was tight but cleared. I went with a high torque mini starter to give my self some more clearance at the passenger side exhausts. Good luck with yours.

@@70GalaxieMan Which transmission are you running on this one? I've got the FMX in mine and the shift linkage looks like it might want to interfere, depending on where the collector ends up. I think this is a good time to install the mini-starter once I move ahead. Thanks for the input on Lokar, I'll look into them as well!

It’s the alternator. I installed a high amp alternator which is harder to spin. The single v-belts just don’t cut it. I have since installed twin super chargers which run serpentine belts. No more squeal.

I love the fairlanes and the falcons. One day I will stuff a blown big block into a small falcon.

When it comes to wheels, old school sucks. Way too small in width and diameter and not in proportion to the actual size of the car. You can install little 15s on what ever car you like. That’s the beauty of this hobby. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it!

@@gypsyshot5225 maybe 50 years ago. Show me a race car today or pro-touring cars that run 15” wheels. You can’t. All the new street cars and race cars that are purpose built to handle run wider wheel and tire combinations. Please go away cause you sounding real silly now.

@Galaxie Man it's hard finding headers to fit the 400 modified motor for the LTD ford. I have a 1971 so I'm hoping he can make me some custom ones that won't break my pockets lol

Thanks for the look. I have since moved to a twin supercharged blow through FST carb setup. Check out some of my other videos. My galaxie is currently in the tranny shop. I broke the input shaft in half running the additional blowers.
