we really enjoyed being part of this and our North Wales adventure :) Hopefully some of the other things we filmed during our time there will appear somewhere down the line! Looking forward to hopefully working on future projects in the not too distant future :)
A really enjoyable series. Brought back great memories of visits to Ffestiniog including full trip from Blaenau to Caernarfon. Model really captures the character of narrow gauge.
You’ve certainly made a gorgeous little layout!! I absolutely adore visiting the Ffestiniog Railway. It’s exciting to ride on and has wonderful scenery. I can hardly wait to get back to it again in the next year or so.
Great series of 3 videos Richard! Really liked the mix of footage of the railway and then the building of the layout. Really enjoyed watching and will be purchasing a copy of the Hornby magazine to CLP it off! Cheers Gary
When making Woodland Scenic Rockface if you place a couple of nails - head first - into the plaster while it is setting, you can then attach the rockface to your cutting sides and it stays in place. The scene is looking very good.
Brilliant video as ever gents, and a great finale to the build series, do look forward to hopefully seeing the layout at an exhibition in the not too distant future. Can't wait to see whats coming up in future episodes of the show. Keep up the good work and stay safe Also, have you ever done a train formations guide on the transpennine route? If not, would you consider one for a feature in the magazine? Keep up the good work and stay safe James
Richard, I always thought the crocodile clip should be 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 the baseboard when applying static grass. Is your method better? Looking at about 47:23 these must be the cleanest coach rooves I've ever seen, maybe worth bearing in mind if anyone is weathering models of Ffestiniog passenger stock.👍👌😁
newbie question, im just getting interested in model rail, i'm just browsing my first copy of hornby magazine bought today, & ive seen mention of 009 gauge, is that different from 00 gauge, if so how?
Richard, I’m a bit disappointed that you say you can’t pronounce Cwmorthin “because we’re in Wales”. It’s really not that hard and if it were any other nation you were disparaging in that way it would not be acceptable, so why is it acceptable about Wales?
Hi Tom, thanks for the comment! The light hearted comment was aimed at our own inability to pronounce the names, not in anyway a slant on the beautiful Welsh language. My family were originally from Wales and it was always a disappointment to my mother I was born a Geordie. All good fun. Kindest regards Richard
What a finish!!!! Pouring the resin a accompanied by brilliant music. Great -- Thanks
This brings back such fond memories of visiting the Ffestiniog with my dad many years ago.
Stunning place to visit, can't wait to return.
Absolutely Fantastic Video Richard and Mike
Thanks David, really glad you enjoyed it!
Ffestiniog & Snowden are unforgettable experiences....

Thanks Alan, really pleased you enjoyed it
A really great idea, combining the real with the model and it is a great model. I just love the way that you make mess look great. Martin. (Thailand)
Thanks Martin, Mess is the best part! 😄
You are an absolute artist. I start off thinking 'what is this guy doing'???. To see the finished job is a revelation. Well done 'my man'
Ha! To be fair I often question what am I doing, always worth getting stuck in and having ago.
Thanks 😊

@@hornbymag Your welcome
Brilliant, really good as always and really interesting to see how you do the layout. Definitely something to be inspired by
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
An excellent video ... and I am not even into model trains 😀. Liked and subscribed for sheer enjoyment.
Thanks Eddie, hopefully we can capture your interest again in the future.

Good question, if not we certainly should ;-)
The quarry you were at was Cwn Orthin
The beautiful Welsh mountains and countryside can all be seen from the Ffestiniog Railway
"how simple was that...?" Well, not simple at all actually, but it looks great :)
Have a go, great fun and can be toyed with as a method.
If only I could start a Model Railway. A OO9 scale narrow gauge model railway.
The first locomotive’s I would get are two Baldwin class 10-12-d’s.

The WWS applicators don't require the clip to touch, others do recomend it mind.
@@hornbymag Probably something to do with science.😂
