Lots of people hated this at the time for not being a proper UCS set, but I think most people will look back on this with regret for not giving this set the appreciaton it deserves. I sure as hell regret not buying it at the time. It's a display set, but of a different kind: it can be spun around to be displayed at many different angles because each section is magnificently done.
Never watched a lot of Jangs old content… my goodness I am going to have SO MANY to videos to enjoy thanks to this whole re upload thing (yes I’m aware I could’ve went back to the old channel but out of sight out of mind)
I did buy it and kept it closed. How my feeling was to let it be a closed set and now it’s worth so much more. Amazing changes in the Lego collection. I still love building. I’m going to enjoy my Indiana Jones sets this Xmas holidays. I love Lego and appreciate Jangs work. Great job and keep it going. But, I knew that set was going to be more for collectors.
I remember when this set came out I was skeptical mainly because of the diameter being so much larger than the death star, and right before it retired I got it because I had the idea that at some point I might try to build it into a more vertical, doll-house style thing, and I still have yet to actually do that lol. So far all I've done is take out the minifigs because I really like the minifigs.
Never had a chance to see this in person, but man does this set look like a lot of fun! I remember the small Slave I being somewhat of a noble thing (remember that mainly because of Jang's commentary, haha).
I love this set, kind of like a flat version of the Death Star. the only MBS style set I wasn't that keen on and therefor didn't get, was the Assault on Hoth UCS set, just too many small builds for my liking.
I really like the white Leia version. I have seen this movie so many times that my brain almost replaces it with Carrie Fisher. I think it's a very nice figure.
His original channel is being view blocked so he no longer gets views on it or something. He’s made posts about it so he is moving everything to this channel to archive those videos.
I really really dropped the ball not buying this set. For some reason I took an instant dislike, I think it was the price that put me off. A friend has this displayed next to Mos Eisley set and every time I visit I regret not buying this set so much as it looks so great from all sides. Its that disney tax to blame for me missing out, and it just seems to be getting more ridiculous as time goes by.
Wait. Lobot has full 360 head printing. In 2024, I still didn't think that was possible. There are many figures that would benefit from this technology. 2025 Two-face comes to mind, with his scars not going all the way around. Disappointing Lego

Yes, same here!

Glad this got reuploaded. I love your old content.

I think that small hatch that goes underneath the hanger area is supposed to represent the antenna Luke hangs from after falling

‘a pretty forgettable set’ at the time which now has a cult following and is extremely expensive 😭
What’s with the reuploading just curious I mean I don’t mind being reminded about these great last sets so thank you

I wish I had bought this when it was on sale. I heard that Amazon messed up and sold it for $180. I would have loved to have gotten it for that.
Great review!

Wish I could’ve had this as a kid!
I still need to make the Slave-1 from this set.
I have completely forgotten about the existence of this set 😅 Actually looks great though
I fell out of love with Lego smaller sets larger prices.
350 and only 2800 pieces is a hard sell. The Disney tax strikes back, The attack of the unreasonable cost.
