I built a proxy deck with no lands with this guy as the commander and not only does it work, I actually win most of the time. A lot of fun and people can't believe it doesn't have any lands
I had a similar idea for a deck that I made. I came across the Kaldra set and decided to build a deck around it, but steered for an Orzhov Keyword Soup instead of mono-blue. This was because I immediately linked the recent Templar Knight card from the Assassin's Creed set to be my key tutor for fetching my pieces. 1 and white with vigilance, and I can have as many in my deck as I want for activating its tutoring ability: a white and tap five attacking Templar Knights to search for a legendary artifact and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Admittedly, not as elegant as Arcum Dagsson, but I hadn't even heard of the card before, so forgive me for not thinking of it.😅 However, I decided to lean in on the silliness and made 19 proxies with different artwork to go along with my legitimate copy of Templar Knight in the deck. Because if I'm gonna fill up my board with Templars, they might as well all be different and cool-looking (plus they're 6$ apiece). My deck is also fully of legendary artifacts to search for, and all my legendary creatures can be searched for as well once I drop down Mycosynth Lattice. The key Secret-Commander is Odric, Lunarch Marshal, his ability essentially copies keywords among creatures you control and spreads them across your entire board at the start of combat. He would've been my commander, but I opted to keep him as a secret along with Kaldra to allow some better ramp in a secondary colour.
I've found some cards that may interest you : - Temporal Distorsion - Stormscape master (non legendary creature but would make an interesting commander) - Planar collapse - Aurification - Inner Sanctum Also, how would you build a Feldon of the third path deck ? I was thinking of strategy where the "it's an artifact in addition to its other types" realy matter.
Reckless Fireweaver and other shenanigans with that. My favorite card from Feldon from when I first started playing commander was dragon egg. I was a poor kid so that card was so much fun to play with
@@Jack-lc6kb i can't tell if this is advanced sarcasm or if you really were confused but me being late to the party nonetheless, "shenanigans" basically means mischief or doing wacky/funny shit
i really love your deck techs! not just this one tho. i remember when i first saw snapdax and i was very unimpressed. plenty of people like the command zone people said the same thing. but when you made a deck tech with it, you actually got me pretty excited. ive actually made a few personal tweaks to your list and now i have a snapdax deck coming in the mail.
I think an interesting aspect of the Kaldra equipment is that with the "Legend Rule" once you have Kaldra assembled, it basically says, "Here, have a creature entering the battlefield trigger and a creature dying trigger for (1)." Granted it's still a 3-card combo, but still..
actually built a kaldra assembly (with the empire series and urza lands) using Oswald Fiddlebender as the commander. After assembling Kaldra I try getting Mirror Gallery/Box, Heroes' podium and akroma's memorial. great stuff. and if opponents dont like kaldra, I just go for the combo lines the deck allows heh
I threw in thornbite staff for multiple untaps, I cant afford Lattice, but i found using silverskin armor and an infinite colorless combo that you can use Arcum to tutor for is Rings + Basalt Monolith. create a bunch of tokens and "freely" equip silverskin to get 5 tutors in one go with thornbite staff for untap effects and tutor for voltron pieces like colossus hammer, prowlers helm and fireshrieker for a one shot.
I like Arcum because his brokenness depends entirely on the other artifacts in your deck (compared to someone like Urza, who can practically combo off by accident, and who even without combos is going to be outramping everyone and getting a bonkers amount of value.). If you want to make everyone hate you, you can get a God Pharaoe’d Monument (spells your opponents cast cost 2 more to cast) or Winter Orb up by turn 5 (potentially turn 4 if you get a good hand), or a Goblin Charbelcher, if you build around it, or just a mindslaver or that artifact that makes it so no one can draws cards. But you can also focus on the more hilarious, janky stuff. Dagsson allows you to include artifacts that are too situational to be played in most other decks, because you can tutor them when you actually need them. You kind of need to think outside the box with him, because you can’t tutor for artifact creatures. One of my favorite combos is mirrorworks and conjurer’s closet. It allows you to do stuff like get multiple copies of etherium sculptor or master of etherium, which get get way scarier the more of them you have. Similarly, cards with imprint like mimic vat allow you to mass produce creatures or artifacts. I like to use noncreature artifacts to keep myself safe (orb of warding to give yourself hexproof, ensnaring bridge and crawl space to limit how many creatures can attack me, darksteel forge to prevent your artifacts from being destroyed), and even for offense (lux cannon isn’t very efficient, but between mirror works to potentially get more of them, energy chamber to give them charge counters faster, and potentially proliferate with contagion clasp/engine, you can use them to deter people from messing with you (it can also be used as a bargaining chip with other players; “if you promise not to destroy my artifacts until player X is dead, I will blow up the the scary thing player Y just cast). There are also some win conditions that are potentially fun for everyone at the table; stuff like Darksteel Reactor can win you the game, but the rest of the table will have a good number of turns to try to take it out. Same goes for stuff like ratchet bomb or whatever. Ultimately, Dagsson is really fun to play, makes a lot of suboptimal strategies actually viable, and doesn’t automatically generate mountains of salt. The biggest problem with him is honestly making sure your turns don’t take too long (I recommend having a sheet of paper with a list of the noncreature artifacts in your deck, along with a short sentence reminding you what they do, that way you don’t browse through your entire deck trying to decide what you should tutor for, every turn.
awesome tech! stupid question....does nuisance engine trigger the new stryx "pest" triggers? ob not gain a life but other things that care about pest die'n?
You can use Tel-Jilad Stylus instead of Rishadan Pawnshop to protect your Kaldra/Empires pieces. With the Stylus you can also take the pieces back if an opponents steals them
Fabrication/Animation/Decoction module are pretty solid in this deck, for anybody looking to save some money by replacing the Kaldra set. I don't think they match the utility of the Kaldra or Empires set, but a number of tokens and +1/+1 counters limited only by your mana are pretty strong in most commander games.
I added some infect creatures because why not use all these equipments to make a huge infect creature? If you’re feeling fancy, adding all 4 swords doesn’t hurt either…
You shoul basically win the game if you control a fully assembled Kaldra equipped with Kaldra Compleat. Although, a 14/14 with these abilities isn't too far from winning anyways...
Here is some extra salt. The draw to mill players enchantments, Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, Otherworldly Atlas, Temple Bell, Prototype Portal, The Magic Mirror, Mind Unbound, Mirrormade, and the key cards like Galvanic and Voltaic Key.
Feel like this would be a perfect deck for the Urza lands.... complete the trilogy of threes
I added them just for flavor but it’s not that hard to actually go for urzatron
I've been trying to figure out a deck for the empires cards for years. This is the best option I've seen yet.

I have a pretty sweet temmet deck that plays super well as a living weapon theme deck. Kaldra goes pretty well in there
Yes! I love Kaldra decks and that new Kaldra card is coming out aswell.

Have you considered Mirror gallery for this deck? it gets rid of the legend rule, so you can pay 1 mana and get a 4/4 repeatedly

Been waiting for this one!
awesome tech! stupid question....does nuisance engine trigger the new stryx "pest" triggers? ob not gain a life but other things that care about pest die'n?
Yes, unless there was some Errata, nuisance engine pests have the pest creature type, so something like Blex, Vexing Pest would still buff them.
You could also use kaldra compleat lol, then you mentioned it!!!!!
Mycosynth lattice is amazing with him btw
Awesome I was hoping for this one, I just got all the promo kaldra cards.
You can use Tel-Jilad Stylus instead of Rishadan Pawnshop to protect your Kaldra/Empires pieces. With the Stylus you can also take the pieces back if an opponents steals them
The new Vecna Artefact-Cycle coming with the new expansion! How can we incorporate it?

I would add gleemax to make everything really hard to kill and have some counter spells for exile board wipes then your basically untouchable
I added some infect creatures because why not use all these equipments to make a huge infect creature?
If you’re feeling fancy, adding all 4 swords doesn’t hurt either…
I really want to build a Blue Aristocrat deck I think Arcum definitely need to be in the 99 if not the commander. 🤔
Mirror Gallery a consideration? As many Kaldras as you can pay the 1 for.
it's funny how you can just keep paying the one if you want a bunch of dies triggers or maybe you have a warstorm surge in play.
Could you not add Sakasima, thousand faces. Then you can create 4/4 Kaldra tokens at instant speed for just 1 mana and the stay on the battlefield :)
Ok, I have to ask lol. Do you play against people using Blightsteel Colossus everyday?
no. but blighsteel, craterhoof, and expropriate are popular wincons that i see alot, so that's why i always use them as examples.
Well if you want to be rude, or just have a solid wincon, throw in nev disk and mycosynth lattice for extra salt
You shoul basically win the game if you control a fully assembled Kaldra equipped with Kaldra Compleat. Although, a 14/14 with these abilities isn't too far from winning anyways...

Dagson was a Paradox engine.
Too soon
They should have given Kaldra Compleat infect or at least have the wording "if this equipment is attached to a Germ, it has infect."
Arcum hasnt been a deck in cedh since the banning of paradox engine. RIP P Engine
Bro just equip Kaldra token with Kaldra complete
