- History of Invincible from WoWWiki:
Invincible was the steed of Arthas Menethil, both in life and death. He was the skeletal steed that Arthas rode throughout Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
Invincible was born to the mare Brightmane on the Balnir Farmstead in Tirisfal Glades, in the winter of the year Stormwind fell. Prince Arthas, then nine years old, was present when he was born, and was given the horse by the Balnir family, who bred horses used by the royal family. The horse had a white coat, different from the usual Balnir stock, which normally had gray coats. Arthas had considered naming the horse "Snowfall" or "Starlight", but in the informal tradition of Lordaeron knights and nobles naming their steeds after a quality (Uther's was "Steadfast", King Terenas' "Courageous"), he named the colt "Invincible".
Ten years later in winter, before Arthas was inducted into the Knights of the Silver Hand, Arthas' exertion in the numbing cold resulted in a crippling injury to his beloved Invincible. Too far from help and unable to heal the stricken horse, Arthas was forced to kill him in order to relieve his pain. He was buried on the grounds of the Balnir Farmstead at Arthas' request. Invincible's death was one of the events that inspired Arthas to become a paladin.
After the fall of Lordaeron years later, Arthas - now a death knight - ran directly from Lordaeron after murdering his father, to the Balnir Farmstead where Invicible was buried. With the power of Frostmourne, Arthas resurrected the horse as his undead steed. Now fully living up to his name, Invincible could become a spectre and disappear, to be resummoned by Arthas at any time.
During the Scourge's siege on the Sunwell, Anasterian Sunstrider confronted Arthas in single combat, severing Invincible's forelegs with his runeblade, Felo'melorn, to dismount him. Witnessing Invincible's injuries brought on a surge of memories and sent Arthas into a rage, during which he shattered Felo'melorn and struck down Anasterian. This time, however, Arthas was able to necromantically repair the injuries. It is likely that Invincible still serves as his master's steed, even after Arthas became the new Lich King, though Sindragosa has also been referred to as his mount.

Even the cold forsaken respected King Terenas enough to make a memorial of him. Speaks volumes of his character, sadly his son had to be the ultimate sacrifice and i like to think that Terenas did so too and forgave Arthas

The lore behind the horse Invincible is amazing, not only explains why Arthas unit (in Warcraft 3) is mounted as a DK but is on foot while being a Paladin, also the act of bringing the horse of his childhood back to life shows that there was some humanity still remaining inside of him.

I love this game... I love it so much it hurts... No matter what the future will bring, no matter if ppl say every new expansion is bad, no matter if the game might stop to exist. I will always remember the good times. This game gave me shelter when noone else could. It was more than a game it was a place where I could be free, no sorrows no pain just forget everything around me and play. Thx blizzard for giving me a place where I can be myself

Arthas is pretty much the Anakin Skywalker of Warcraft. A champion of order and justice who turned into a champion of darkness. Their motives are pretty much the same: To protect those they loved. But fear and hatred drove them further away from their ideals. You could also compare Uther to Obi-Wan and Jaina to Padme`.

High school about to begin in 2008., I'm 17 and telling my parents: ''November 13th and 14th I will fall ill and miss school''.
My classmate had a birthday party that weekend, they called me drunk multiple times to ask which level I was (even though they didn't play).
It's 2024. now and I still enjoy my Magic Seeker, Conqueror of Naxxramas and Obsidian Slayer titles.
But plot twist, I hated wotlk. Even back then I could feel it's the beginning of the end with Activision merge, introduction of raid difficulties and failed promises (like removing Glory mounts each patch).
Hands down one of the greatest ever "Fall of A Hero!" stories ever written. I rate the story of Arthas Menethil as high any of Tolkien's hero stories, which are absolutely fantastic!

The true King of Azeroth. The most compelling, and dynamic character arguably in the Warcraft, if not all game Universes Blizzard has. Still remember in third grade playing Warcraft 3, and replaying the Human campaign over because of the story line. Then taking him down at Icecrown was a moment I will never forget.This song will always bring a tear to my eye. It goes to show how compelling Video Games can be as a medium in this day and age.

Possibly someday soon we get more of him, or his Sister becomes an important character at some point. One can always hope.
Arthas really is the best villain in WoW. No gimmicky story like most expansions, his development over the different games and patches proved how big an influence he was against us and the world. And each step of the way in Northrend is was him we wanted to get rid of. Very memorable character. Gul’dan was arguably the second best because he was purely an asshole. His death was lackluster though. I will always remember ICC.
I wish they could bring back Arthas but maybe its just better to leave him dead. But dammit, fav char, and I got into WoW by playing WC3 myself, watching Arthas turn evil, truly an amazing story and character.

come to think of it, invincinble is crucial to arthas' character, the fact that rather than going to murder people or take over the world, his first action upon becoming a death knight was to resurrect the beloved horse from his childhood, reveals the inner humanity that's still there, right? his innocent horse from back when he too was innocent. not only did he know where to find it but he was still emotionally connected to it, which is a pretty fascinating character detail. like, even from the very beginning they were setting this character up to have some real depth, at least for a video game.
Arthas as a Death Knight also, ironically, seemed to be more laid back and have more of a sense of humor as he actually cracks a few one-liners and grim jokes while Paladin Arthas' only display of levity was when he reunited with Jaina.

Sure. It was pretty good, but for me after Wotlk, wow kinda lost their touch.
+damian kowal Game play wise, the game has lost a lot. But Cata had a couple decent bits, like that one quest in the Blasted Lands. MoP? Rly good lore, fun side stuff here and there, and one of my favorite dungeons, Stormstout Brewery. Granted they pushed Garrosh to evil far to fast. We needed something to at least make it make a little bit more sense. Warlords? It actually had cool zones, good quests, interesting story, and compelling characters. The big draw backs were the 'selfie' patch, the twitter post on the Burning Legion, and Grom's sudden forgiveness from all of draneor (the dranai I could see in some cases, seeing as how they don't want to exterminate all of the Iron Horde Orcs).
If i could go back to 2008, I would.

I commented just today that Bobby Kotick swept thru BLizzard with the same plague of undeath/evil that we saw in-game. Same result, ineffable corruption that spread inexorably, taking far too many low-level peasants (ordinary workers) with it.

AndurilWielder I'd like to say this is Latin, as it sounds quite like it, and a lot of it looks similar to Latin words (i.e the first two lines look suspiciously like Latin, or languages based on them). But, they aren't so far to my knowledge. An Elvish language, including Blizzard's own Thalassian, wouldn't really fit, as, besides the raid on the Sunwell, Wrath of the Lich King has about nothing to do with it, so a song about Invincible/Arthas wouldn't make sense sung in Thalassian, and I don't think they'd use another fictional language. So, what is it? Is it, in fact, Thalassian? An ancient (lore-wise, if they bothered to make an excuse for it) language they made up just for the song?

If you haven't read the book about Arthas yet, i would recommend it to you :) i have not read a lot of books through my 25 years, but for the sake of the story, it's a pretty spot on feeling of Arthas :) #SucceedingYourFather ;)
His history:1. Gets bullied by Varian2. Father gives his useless son superior Paladin training from Uther himself.3. Still gets bullied by Varian4. Arthas sees his Kingdom being attacked by the Burning Legion and Scourge.5. Arthas gets mind controlled, lost himself, becomes minion of an Orc.6. No more Arthas, only the Lich King and the Lich King betrays the Burning Legion.7. Play WotLK, and own the Lich King.

wotlk may be gone but the memories will never disappear. wotlk left me some of the best memories i have ever gotten from gaming. Such a shame that wow has gone worse since wotlk (imo). This music really hits deep tones in such an emotional way, Blizzard crafted one of the best stories of ALL time and gave it orgasmic spine chilling ambiance. I'll never forget the days of WoTLK and the incredible story that the music really potrays godlike.

WotLK was the best expansion in my opinion. It's lore is absolutely breathtaking! And, tbh, I cried in the end of this story... And am still sad and touched to this day. It left an uneraseble (not sure that's even a word...) mark on my heart. Arthas, you'll always be the best!

I can't describe the type of nostalgia that hits me every single second throughout this song.The chills it sends down your spine,as you feel the weight of your tears.It's just undescribable.Never have I expected that I could be so overwhelmed by so many emotions at once,all because of a game.But it's not just a game,is it?
I remember the first time I got to play this game. My brother introduced me to WOTLK when i was 5.I didn't know any English,nor the whole point of the game.I just kept on playing without knowing what my goal is.
This song,as well as the Eversong Woods theme,they're really special to me.I hope someone feels the same as me,because I've got no one to share this to and it tears me apart.
This theme and WoW as a whole means so much to me too. I was introduced to WoW before I was in 1st grade. So much nostalgia, especially in the story of the Lich King.

They took a giant dump on his story. Like wow thanks Blizz, thanks for forgetting how to do great storytelling. I would go as far to say BFA had better storylines and execution than Shadowlands. That's not saying much because both expansions were really bad.

man if death knight ever becomes a playable class in hearthstone i sure as hell hope the hero will be arthas or have him as a legendary.
The hero will almost definitely be Arthas, still not sure what his hero power will be though, thinking maybe Obliterate, a 2 damage melee attack.

***** Yeah I'd assume it'll work like the druid's, but with 2 attack and no armour. I'd say it's balanced, the druid's get their shield aswell as attack, rogue's have 2 uses of their weapon for 2 mana, and warrior's already shield for 2 so it seems like a decent number.

Yeah sorry to disappoint you but Arthas was a paladin. The most likely choice would be Mograine, however, you might see Arthas added as a legendary and Deathknight will most certainly added to the game in an expansion!

Anytime i listen to this i think of my old middle school music director. Me and my best friend would spend all our breaks in his room talking about wow. He used to have a pic of his main behind him in class so thats how we found out. He liked the music so much he found an entire collection of the music for the band to play. He was so awesome, unfortunately when I went back to visit a year or so later he lost his battle with cancer. Rest in peace Mr. Jones.

Good times guys, good times. Brings back the Wotlk nostalgia every time. What a truly epic expansion, what an adventure it was. Filled with amazing lore and art I was immersed from the moment I logged in. Now, the game is merely a shadow of its former self :/
