My Mom was robbed in the parking lot at walmart a week ago, she's 82 and widowed. Very scary situation and of course caused a lot of legal problems. However the police caught him and charged him with a felony, this was his 12th arrest. Heads on a swivel at all times. Be careful ladies when you're out alone.

My daughter purchased a house in Colorado 2 years ago. The taxes went sky high and insurance went way up. Utilities went up and they spent all they had for their son’s wedding. I've been watching for about a month. Before then, I only had about 2 weeks' worth of food in the house. I now have about 2 months' worth, plus many household items. I've also gotten all my credit cards paid off and have a nice nest egg. I'm still working on things but feeling much better about where when we're at so far.

Restaurant prices are ridiculous. We celebrated our 38 anniversary and we chose to make steaks potatoes and salad at home instead of paying $30 per meal.
I’m a post WW2 baby and remember all too well having either no or hardly any food. Lost my husband 10 years ago to Alzheimer’s. About five years ago I was convicted to get serious about prepping for hard times. No debt, about four years of food. I was feeling pretty good, then two months ago my car’s engine died. Had emergency money and found a very nice low mileage car for a good price. Had it less than two weeks and took a bad fall requiring surgery. Yes, things can change very fast! But I know I’ll be Ok, have a true support system and God by my side. If you’re new to prepping, get going! Not so new, keep it up!!!
When I was a young (20 yo) soldiers wife, I was taught by other Army wives valuable preparedness/readiness techniques. We had to do it. When our soldiers went for training or deployments, the family didn’t get separate rations money - it goes wherever the soldier goes. I learned 2 is 1, & 1 is none for my pantry. We had to be stocked. I was taught - never let your gas tank go below half, always keep it topped off - in case. I was taught, don’t create debt & have cash on hand - in case. In the day, if your family didn’t have food & weren’t paying your bills or had too much debt, the soldier was pulled in front of his commander and could get an article 15 for readiness failure. The Army did not want to have to worry about the families, their job was to worry about the soldier. Soldiers had to be in a good headspace or they were a danger to themselves/others if they were worried about things at home. We were a career Army family and it is engrained in me to make sure my family was at full readiness and I still do it today. As an Army wife, that has always been my job & I still take it very seriously. So blessed & grateful
LOST MY JOB MAY 1ST. I Paid off my house Yesterday, took everything I could muster. RELIEVED...is an understatement! Vehicles paid for, now growing all I can. NO ANIMALS, city won't allow chickens,.... THANK YOU PATARA found you through Homestead Heart channel. 4 yrs. Ago!
Puppies, bottle babies, blooming plants and you speaking common sense and motivation. Another wonderful video. Thank you for creating this community. Everyone stay safe happy and blessed.
Brother has several brain tumors. Before surgery he is paying off wife's car. He said if something happens to him she will have an extra $500 per month and no debt. ❤
The bad storm in Houston on Thursday has showed me holes in my preps. My area of town is still without power. I have some awesome friends who loaned me a generator. So many had trees land on their roofs and fences down. So, I feel blessed. We are being told it will be Wednesday before we have power.
I absolutely love the quote "to plant a garden is believing in the future." I feel it's not just about veggies. It's about all the seeds to live and love life. Finances, household, medical, stock pantry, etc. ALL my effort, NOBODY is gonna take it away from me.
You cannot be hopeless if you still have the desire to plant something knowing it will be a future date that you will see the results, I can be feeling down and out and then the roses break out in bloom and It is love in action. You do not have to be religious to have that feeling of love come your way, people are odd but your garden is a mirror for your heart to see that it is alive.
Retired 3 yrs ago, started listening to you. Hubby is on board, house is paid off, no debt, gardening yearly, canning what ii can. Thank you so much for your videos & guidance. ❤ you & James. Stay safe and well.
Last week, I was having a general conversation with my neighbor and I casually mentioned I stocked up on some dog food because of the upcoming meat shortage (I didn't talk preps). He said if anything happened, he was coming to my house. I told him only an emasculated coward would depend on an old, fat neighbor lady to take care of HIS family. I don't think we will ever speak again. The mutual respect is gone forever.
@@steppininit8559I told my relatives they better show up with provisions because I was prepping for MY household. I have also attempted to be prepared for others 🤷🏼♀️
It was a Good day. Our oldest son came over and helped put together a raised bed, some trellises, and set a concrete bird bath. Good times and the extra muscle was appreciated. When you're in your 70s it sure is great to have extra hands. We'll be spending Sunday in church and the afternoon gardening. Everyday something. Thanks Patara for being a truth teller Remember y'all to Pray, Plan, Prep
In 2020 my sister did not believe in prepping BUT she took my advice and stocked up for the winter and though there wasn't a big snow she had a surplus of groceries. She continued buying canned goods on sale. Recently, she noticed how high the cost of food was and was thankful for what she had. She is single and on a fixed income. THEN she decided to buy things like rice in bulk but she was having difficulty finding a big bag of rice. She had always seen it in the store before. Well she finally purchased a 20lb bag of rice.🙂 AND she understands the advantages of being prepared.
My husband and I paid off our credit cards today and our truck, so no more of that rat race! We also are having a Generac installed for peace of mind living here in the mountains not far from you. Patara, you are a Breath of Common Sense...Thank You for being you!🥰
First Timothy 5:8 "If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" We know GOD expects us to care for our family since HE clearly says so. I actually keep this on my fridge next to my grocery list (with the additional 5 cans 💪😉) because preparing is NOT easy and it would certainly be easier, for the time being. not to do it. We are retired seniors in a very small home so I could find ALL the excuses but we are doing what we are able. The 5 cans was our start and it's so easy to do it. Thanks Patara!!!
I live in a very small apt, with only one food pantry. I’m overfilled lol. Plus jugs of water everywhere. I’m doing what l can also with my situation. GBY! ❤️❤️
I have never been able to understand how people can justify not preparing on some level. Some actually must stop to buy groceries for dinner every night on the way home from work. What happens when there is no job or there is no grocery store? Stay the course and do what you can to live frugally and prepare for the unexpected! Amen, sister!
My husband was working in our back field in south central TN yesterday and found himself very close to a Timber Rattlesnake. He was busy getting done what needed to be done that he admitted he had his guard down. He safely backed away and let him be but it was an eye opening experience of staying “AWAKE” in ALL situations. Praising God for this community and looking to Him for everything! Be safe everyone and Carry On friends! ❤🙏🏼
Even an unexpected small amount of money like getting hit with a $100 dollar fee one week. I just don’t buy groceries that week because I have tons of food at home then restock on payday. Didn’t have to touch savings. So much flexibility.
I love Bruce's freckles. My younger brother's name was Bruce. He died in a gasoline explosion when he was 10years old. I was burned to and spent a while in the hospital. In my teens, I had several plastic surgeries to remove the worst of my facial scars. We were poor so Shriners paid for my surgeries. I'm now a 64yr old widow with 3 kids all in their 40s, 9 grandkids ranging from 17 to 25years old, and 2 great grandchildren, both toddlers. I am happy due to my family and my love and trust in God. Also wanted to add I have canned a lot of meat and vegetables, stocked up on canned foods, have a garden and 42 chickens. I'm a retired nurse with tons of first-aid supplies. My son in law is Army vet, enough said.
My husband and I was just talking about preppers in the Bible. My hubby is a pastor. We had the opportunity today to meet with a young couple from church one on one. Prepping, of course, came up. We were able to answer questions for them. Meeting with them again soon.
My daddy had a favourite saying, 'Do your best and let God do the rest'. That is what I do. Prepare to the best of my ability and let God do the rest because he knows I did my best.
Proverbs 21:20 "Wise people store up the best food and olive oil. But foolish people eat up everything they have". Personally when the kids were home I saved a lot of money because I had a pantry that I stocked when our favorite foods were on sale. And I still stock the pantry because the world is not entirely safe, and I am fond of having dinner every night
Joseph also enslaved his people during the famine. Read the entire story. Most pastors don't give you the entire story. They only give a glimpse. This is why in 2nd Timothy, he says to STUDY God's word. I don't look at Joseph as a hero. Maybe he was to his king.
doing goat hooves look much simplier then trimming my Pry's nails.. that is trauma... went to the Mall today, the 13 yr old wanted to go with friends.. and It was amazing how zombeish people looked and I was amazed at the sheer blindness.. I think I was 1 of 2 people carring my hole puncher... Keep alert and prep on..
Patera you keep getting the word out there. Glenn Beck had a video that was very serious today. If something happens he says we will be where we are when SHTF. He says families need a plan of action. You are not alone in thinking tougher times are coming. I hope people are taking you seriously!
Our son-in-law lost his very high paying job about 9 months ago. Savings gone and now getting foodstamps. People need to save and prepare like their lives depend on it, because it does 🙏
I will NOT be like the 5 virgins that did NOT prepare for the bridegroom! Matthew 25. And... I will NEVER fear what man can do to me! I know whom I belong too 🙌
Prov. 24:27) "Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house." (Prov. 27:12) "The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it."
Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺 🙏💜 We are in deep trouble as well. Been following you and learning along the way. I don't have a garden but I'm doing the 5 a week and alternating first aid etc
So thankful l heeded your advice on buying 5 cans of food per week. That’s where & when it began on my journey of preparedness. I do it, 10 cans every payday (every two weeks). I’m in much better shape financially, having paid off my car & a couple of CCs. I’m not quitting my full time job, l need to be working. My rent will go up again this September. But God is providing & protecting. I’m so grateful to Him. I really admire you. You have my mad love & respect, Patara. Pray, prep, persevere my friends! ❤️
It will be what we allow it to be. Your life and well-being are in your hands if you think someone especially the government is going to save you then you are a fool and you better wake up soon.
Patara, there was a video on you tube in which the subject nwas all the things the gov. could take from you including food stuffs etc. I personally watched it and said to myself there is no way anyone is going to do this on my home. But someone who is anyway fearful, that would scare the hell out of them.
Patara, your encouragement to prep has helped me so much to feel “sane” when family members acted like I was crazy for stocking up. Learning to pressure can has been one of the smartest things I did on this journey. I have saved so much money buying on sale and canning meats. I have extra to share. No fear of anyone stealing from us. But, we do have protection items living in the country, just in case.
You want Bible, I got Bible! This is my go-to passage whenever I want to slough off... (The word "sluggard" always, but ALWAYS gets my attention!) This is Proverbs 6:6-11. NIV: 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. 9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- 11 and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. Yes, God does have a way of kicking me in the arse when I start getting lazy! And this one comes to mind when I see weeds in the garden but don't jump right on 'em: (Proverbs 24:30-31, NIV): 30 I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; 31 thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. LOL, told you the word "sluggard" always gets my attention! Sadly, it all too often refers to my recent level of activity. But it ALWAYS spurs me to productive action!
We are a good community here because we are doing our to due dilligence to live life a little more secure in what ever may come along. There are people in S. Texas that may be without power for weeks. I'm praying for the Lords guidence for all of us.❤❤
Yes. I’m praying for all Texans affected. The love of many, has really waxed cold. May these disastrous times, cause many “to come out of the woodwork” & show love, compassion, mercy, & generosity to their needs. 🙏❤️🙏
Society is breaking down. I was at a major intersection stop light today and some guy decided to drive past (squeeze in) the stopped cars and test ongoing traffic. I never saw anything like that. It was a major highway, he didn't care about other people. Of course, no cops nearby.
That’s why people need to stop urging others to prepare. That time has now passed because those thumbing their nose at your urging now will remember who’s door to knock on when SHTF and they have no food. JMO.
I don't prepare for myself. I am old and have diabetes. I prepare for my wife, children and grandchildren. Besides preparing makes me feel good because I know I will be able to help others. And helping other makes me feel closer to my Savior. God Bless you and thank you for all you do to promote people being more prepared!
Hey Patara! My husband (of 42 yrs) & I have been watching you for about a year and half. Since, we have paid off our credit cards, nearly paid off our truck, we have a comfortable nest egg, I learned to pressure can, we quadrupled the size of our garden, and we're setting up an off grid cabin with water catchment. We've been busy, and are still busy! It feels wonderful! Thank you for your pep talks and support. 😘
Oh my gosh Patara I bought a 921 for $200 and a 94.5 for $400. They have gotten soo high… Found more jars from people that have stopped canning instead of buying new jars hopefully grab tomorrow afternoon
Me too, my Blood pressure has gone up from stress, I enjoy watching you with all the Animals on the farm.take care of your self and I’m talking to all of you!!😊
We continue to prepare, but part of that preparation now is to aim towards filling a barrel and getting it buried rather than filling shelves. Knowing what the national and state 'emergency plans/pandemic plans' are (and they are all available to read online), we are of the mind that what they can't see or find can't be taken. That applies to any alphabet agency OR those who refuse to prepare. 1) A steady temperature in the ground is ideal for food storage ~ no freezing/over heating. 2) There is no digital nor written 'map' for the locations. 3) What is in my house is all that is 'available'. 4) NO one knows where or what we have (including family members), and a good bit of what we're doing right now is camouflaged by construction we are doing. We're both older, partially (me)/fully (my husband) disabled, and we're cranky (mostly about the news and events taking place in our 'golden' years). We're fed up with living on a fixed income and watching taxes, fees, permits, delivery costs, etc. from utilities eating literally half of our monthly income (since 2020 our monthly utility costs ~ electric, water, landline, internet, life and auto insurance ~ have gone from just under $500 to hovering around $1300! Given that we've gone from electric heat to exclusively wood (for both heat and water), have an on-demand hwh that is now only used in the summer/fall, 5 ~ yes FIVE led lights, ditched the frig for a domedic type cooler, do most of our cooking on either the wood stove in the winter/outdoor wood during the summer, and I'm literally sitting here in the dark with a lighted keyboard to type this, yeah, I'm fed up! We've had our meter checked twice. We don't have cell phones. We've cut our electric usage by almost 59%. We rarely use the phone, mostly it is our kids calling us and our calls are local (generally to complain to the phone or electric company), we use about a quarter tank of gasoline per month, etc. I think we have reason to be totally fed up. We don't 'go out'/'eat out' at all. We don't go to movies. We have no streaming services. We are continuing to prep though.
I am so thankful that I started preparing several years ago . Patera , concerning is there anything in the Bible about preparing …yes…in Proverbs we learn that a wise woman looks after the cares of her home & family. What about Noah ? God told him to build an ark & he obeyed . He built it & filled it with food , male & female animals of every kind plus 8 family members. God then shut the door making it unable for Noah to open & let those pounding on it to get in once the rains came. Noah preached to them , they rejected . Also Joseph, he prepared for famine in Egypt after his brothers sold him to the Egyptians. When the famine came his family came to Egypt for food & Joseph’s preparing , prepping, provided for them . I’m thankful I started preparing as God spoke to my heart. Keeping busy in my pantry every week ..it keeps me sane. Linda
AMEN AND 🙏🏻👣I HAVE BEEN ON THIS horse and pony show. Canning at the age 80yo. Like I am possessed # 3 son and wife asked me to do some for them. I did not regret one bit. I did it because I know they will use the food. And they started to get into being prepared for the unknown that is coming. Don’t let the people that think you are crazy. You are truly amazing. Thank you for sharing your story and how to make it happen. 550 TX
Patara you have impacted 1000's. Anyone with a lick of sense can see the truth. You have influenced me to pay off debt, prep, can and even buy land, and since building it into a homestead. Wish I had done this in my 40s not 60s, (single here). My only regret. Luv ya Cherokee girl. I know we must be related...lol. im Eng, Irish, Scottish, German and CHEROKEE. Decendant of the Presidents John Adams and John Quincy. I know I'm a mutt...😊
Your babies are growing so fast. Thanks for all your updates and speaking to the choir. God bless you, james, and growing family. Have a super weekend.
There are 3 people (all men) who said to prep is just amassing things for others to take from me. My response is to say "oh, so I should just give up then, right??? They had no response. It makes me think, those 3 are the people who pose the biggest threat to my preps. I would hate to have to throw a freedom seed at them, but I will do what I have to do.
Hey Patara , I'm one of those people who took your advice! for 3 yrs now I've been prepping I learned to Can, learned to grow food, been stocking cans from stores, got cast iron pots and pans and way more! I started doing this because of you! thank you P
I started preparing when the vid hit. I'm so thankful that I did because I was living with my Daddy and Brother. Our Daddy passed in Dec 2020, so we lost his income from retirement. We have been able to make it and continue to prepare as much as possible! Our home and vehicles are paid off!!! We do still have payments left on our camper and some adjacent property, but I pay extra each month to try to get it paid off as soon as possible. At least we have a place to live and a smaller home(camper), if we have to resort to that!

RELIEVED...is an understatement!
Vehicles paid for, now growing all I can.
NO ANIMALS, city won't allow chickens,....
THANK YOU PATARA
found you through Homestead Heart channel. 4 yrs. Ago!
God Bless You 🙏
God bless you
You could maybe raise rabbits or quail in your garage? nice "pets" :D
Most towns/cities will allow laying hens, just not roosters. Plus, you claim them as a pet.
Ahoy there....we share the same surname.
aww bless him - Im praying tonight for your brother Barb 🙏
Praying his surgery goes well. 🙏

Thank you everyone. Surgery is next week❤
The bad storm in Houston on Thursday has showed me holes in my preps. My area of town is still without power. I have some awesome friends who loaned me a generator. So many had trees land on their roofs and fences down. So, I feel blessed. We are being told it will be Wednesday before we have power.
Prayers.
I have been praying for you ALL!
Prayers for all those affected 🙏
Thank you all! Many people affected. We all appreciate the prayers!
Prayers for all of you
I absolutely love the quote "to plant a garden is believing in the future." I feel it's not just about veggies. It's about all the seeds to live and love life. Finances, household, medical, stock pantry, etc. ALL my effort, NOBODY is gonna take it away from me.
that's a beautiful quote 💕
😊❤
You cannot be hopeless if you still have the desire to plant something knowing it will be a future date that you will see the results, I can be feeling down and out and then the roses break out in bloom and It is love in action. You do not have to be religious to have that feeling of love come your way, people are odd but your garden is a mirror for your heart to see that it is alive.

A little slumber, a little sleep, a little folding of the hands and poverty will come upon you like a bandit. Proverbs 6

Retired 3 yrs ago, started listening to you. Hubby is on board, house is paid off, no debt, gardening yearly, canning what ii can. Thank you so much for your videos & guidance. ❤ you & James. Stay safe and well.
19 pints of ugly pork canned today!
woohoo 💕
It doesn’t look very pretty in the jar but it will be delicious
A pint's a pound the world around. 👍
It will look just fine all gussied up in a soup or a stew. Lol.
Wow😂
Its sad but we had relatives tell us the same thing...we said go on down the road
@@steppininit8559I told my relatives they better show up with provisions because I was prepping for MY household. I have also attempted to be prepared for others 🤷🏼♀️
Perfect response!
Awesome response!!! Made my day!
Thanks Patara for being a truth teller
Remember y'all to Pray, Plan, Prep
How wonderful to have the help. Sounds like a lot was accomplished!
and stay peaceful - hug that son for me - God bless.
Well she finally purchased a 20lb bag of rice.🙂
AND she understands the advantages of being prepared.
❤🎉
"Slow and Steady wins the race"! Thank you, young lady...🇺🇸 👍☕
We planted 54 tomato plants today. Sweat is perfume for the soul.
Amen 🙏
I'll quit complaining about planting 19 tomatoes!😂 FIFTY-FOUR!!! Wow!
Wow! That's a lot of tomato plants! You must have a large family.
I have always said, "Gardeners not sweat, we just shine" !!
😁 Then I’ve got lots of soul…
My husband and I paid off our credit cards today and our truck, so no more of that rat race! We also are having a Generac installed for peace of mind living here in the mountains not far from you. Patara, you are a Breath of Common Sense...Thank You for being you!🥰

Hardest working woman in East Tennessee.. Patara! Many prayers for you and James and the boys and daughter in law. May everyone heed your good advice.
First Timothy 5:8 "If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"
We know GOD expects us to care for our family since HE clearly says so.
Until watching patara 4 years ago, we had nothing put back for food. We are SO thankful for everything we have learned since.
Joseph's preparation while he was in Egypt saved the whole nation. The wise virgins prepared and has plenty of oil. Also, the example about the ants.

Most ARE NOT !
Joseph in the O.T. prepared and he saved Israel during the famine. God is using you to wake people up to prepare.
8:43 tried to tell people in church about joseph but more interested in going out to eat
@@kelliered4530 smh - mine is the same - its like in the days of Noah
Joseph also enslaved his people during the famine. Read the entire story. Most pastors don't give you the entire story. They only give a glimpse. This is why in 2nd Timothy, he says to STUDY God's word. I don't look at Joseph as a hero. Maybe he was to his king.

Patera you keep getting the word out there. Glenn Beck had a video that was very serious today. If something happens he says we will be where we are when SHTF. He says families need a plan of action. You are not alone in thinking tougher times are coming. I hope people are taking you seriously!
Yes that was a scarey video.
I watched that video as well. We are living in very scary times.
I will look for GB vid. Thanks

Not stopping! Not Today or Tomorrow!!!! Keep up the good work! God Bless

Not next month or next year either.
It will be what we allow it to be. Your life and well-being are in your hands if you think someone especially the government is going to save you then you are a fool and you better wake up soon.
God gave Joesph 7 good years and told him to prepare for the 7 bad years that would follow… prepare like Joesph 💕
Patara, there was a video on you tube in which the subject nwas all the things the gov. could take from you including food stuffs etc. I personally watched it and said to myself there is no way anyone is going to do this on my home. But someone who is anyway fearful, that would scare the hell out of them.
Joseph prepared in Genesis, and so did David in 1 Samuel.
Uh oh. Somebody got caught in the flower pot!
Cute lol
Busy lil goats lol 🐐❤

Hugs and kisses to all the feather and furbabies.
NIV:
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest-
11 and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.
Yes, God does have a way of kicking me in the arse when I start getting lazy! And this one comes to mind when I see weeds in the garden but don't jump right on 'em: (Proverbs 24:30-31, NIV):
30 I went past the field of a sluggard,
past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;
31 thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.
LOL, told you the word "sluggard" always gets my attention! Sadly, it all too often refers to my recent level of activity. But it ALWAYS spurs me to productive action!
One day at a time, but Ready for Anything.
"Just for breathing you're a Target" OMG how I wish I heard that back when I was 18. Life would have made so much more sense❤

Yes. I’m praying for all Texans affected. The love of many, has really waxed cold. May these disastrous times, cause many “to come out of the woodwork” & show love, compassion, mercy, & generosity to their needs.

Society is breaking down. I was at a major intersection stop light today and some guy decided to drive past (squeeze in) the stopped cars and test ongoing traffic. I never saw anything like that. It was a major highway, he didn't care about other people. Of course, no cops nearby.
If others do not know I have it, it cannot be taken away.
That’s why people need to stop urging others to prepare. That time has now passed because those thumbing their nose at your urging now will remember who’s door to knock on when SHTF and they have no food. JMO.

A lot of people are in denial about everything, probably out of fear. You made some good points!
Great work!
Oh my gosh Patara I bought a 921 for $200 and a 94.5 for $400.
They have gotten soo high… Found more jars from people that have stopped canning instead of buying new jars hopefully grab tomorrow afternoon
the older jars are usually thicker and safer.
I have a lot of mom and grandmas jars and have been using for quite some time and there fine and heavier
You asked about Biblical prepping advice . How about Proverbs 6:6-11...it's a classic !
Been a while since I pondered on those scriptures. Thank you for sharing.

Those 3will make great no trespassing signs.
You're lucky to still keep a roof over your head. Amen 🙏.
